When I made this point a few days ago that that was what was needed from last summer onwards all I got was a bucket load of sarky emojis and countless stroppy comments from the usual suspects -

Hate to be pedantic but if it was Blockbuster being played it would of been Herbie Gillam from the City Ground !!! -

What a tune, right up there with Bowie's original as well -
Is that right? Didn’t know that

Personally I think they have a very good team and won’t be surprised to see them finish above us, if they had a half decent away record ( I think only one away win all season) they wouldn’t be far off the play-offs
-
Never ever been a rivalry with them, plenty of lively days down there though back in the day

I don’t think he understands the reasoning for this thread

I’m not sat in my armchair mate, I’m halfway through a 13 hour shift and if you don’t mind I find that a 7,500 crowd brings a massive smile to my face
-
Out of the 11 starters 5 were loanees and three were 33+, something exciting happening north of the river
-
There forum's a laugh, one mug on there reckons they took 8,000 to Blackpool in May 1990 to win the title, Blackpool's biggest crowd that season was 8,100, so just 100 sea-siders at the Rovers game then

I actually have no idea if my granddad went to the cup final, i doubt it otherwise i'm sure it would of been mentioned, apparently Billy Wedlock was his hero and the best player in the country according to him !!! If teams, like Burnley, Fulham, Brentford, Bradford, Luton, Hull Huddersfield, Blackpool etc. etc. etc can get there then so can we, i'm as frustrated as the next man that season after season we can't even finish above Preston but i still have hope and honestly believe we will get there and hopefully under this regime, i know i know, i'm a fool
-
That is a strange stat, SA were in the wilderness for 20 odd years though so slightly distorts it, still surprising though

My dear old dad was in his mid 50's as well, i remember the pride he felt seeing "his team" finally in the top flight and telling me how lucky i was only having to wait till i was a teenager to see it, i used to love the stories he used to tell me about how his dad used to watch Bristol South End on St. Johns Lane, i've got to believe that my kids don't have to wait till they are in their mid 50s What were Luton fans thinking 8 years ago while they were mid-table mediocrity in the conference ? I think it's better to stay positive and hopeful otherwise what's the point ?
-
Not sure about that, his 39 goals in 8 years suggests otherwise
-
Indeed, they need to let it go and move on, time is a great healer
-
Oh dear, get your tin hat ready for the backlash
-
Cornick has scored 39 goals in 8 years, so he doesn't even average 5 goals a season irrespective of what position he plays in, he is most definitely not a centre forward, which is my point
-
I'm talking out and out centre forwards not wide strikers who rarely score (with the exception of Sykes) That leaves us the three centre forwards you've mentioned of which Cornick never played that roll at Luton, Wells is well passed it which leaves us with the still very young and inexperienced Conway, we were well under-cooked in the CF department going into the new season
-
Southampton are demolishing teams and are unbeaten in about 20 games so being as we've been waving the white flag against the divisions elite teams for the last five years expect nothing there, i wouldn't be surprised if we pick something up at Boro next week though.
-
That's fair enough but he certainly has a say, whoever's to blame the poor & small pool of strikers to choose from has been a massive problem
-
The fact that Pearson didn't address the fact in the summer that we needed a striker is half the problem

Haha, never knew that, can’t argue with that

What does that mean ?
