I also think he's looked at Everton and thought "basket case". Which they are behind the scenes. He is getting great reviews for the job he is doing at Derby and his time will come...... He can do better than have his reputation ruined by Everton, that's for sure.

Completely agree, he's on course to do something amazing if he can keep Derby up.

Everton are imploding and I get the feeling there's worse to come for them.

I personally think Lampard has made a mistake taking this position, obviously not as tainted as Rafa was but being connected with West Ham and Chelsea will do him no favours with the Everton supporters when things start going wrong

Highlights are now out, if anyone that wasn't at the game wants to see how it really unfolded...

Also, Southampton ended up being drawn against a fellow side in their league...Ipswich Town

Out of interest where in the pyramid are Southampton in comparison to us?

  3. Viewers can watch hosts Cameroon take on The Gambia on Saturday, 29 January on BBC Two, with kick-off at 16:00 GMT.

On Sunday 30 January, the clash between Sadio Mane's Senegal and Equatorial Guinea (19:00) will be on the same channel.

The matches will also be shown on the BBC Sport website and iPlayer.

The other two quarter-finals see Burkina Faso take on Tunisia at 19:00 on Saturday and Egypt face Morocco the day after at 19:00.

Both semi-finals and the final will be broadcast live on BBC Three.

Given his lack of games, let’s hope he is ready to hit the ground running and it isn’t one of these that we are hearing about lack of fitness being an issue when March comes around

Not played in over six months?

He's going to be weeks away from being ready, which makes his interview interesting about playing for us as he likes where we are heading.... I can only assume something long-term has been dangled

Understandably lots of anger and frustration about the two poor goals we conceded. However, based on our overall performance we were certainly worth at least a point IMO.

    Well played the traveling fans.

I know it’s too late and in vain but can we please refrain from scapegoating anyone…we win, draw and lose together.

Agree in some ways but the final third is awful again, doesn't matter how much possession we had, we never looked like scoring.

    Great support there tonight though

As a publican we didn't get sky red button games BUT there is now there is a new channel set, sky sports active , from ch940, we're on there thankfully so you can legally watch red button games in the pub :)

There's a difference between what is available for domestic and business contracts as to whether these channels are available

Evening, last minute I know but just got out of work so I can attend (I’m local)

Anyone happen to have a spare ticket for tonight? Will obviously pay, just can’t get through to Luton and we’ve taken them off sale at 1pm today - I thought it was going to be 4/5pm

Otherwise I’ll probably buy a home ticket and just keep quiet - or chance my luck by speaking to a steward and getting it swapped at the gate?

    Any other ideas people?

    Have you tried this number?

6 fans dead after a stampede.

    Horrible news

At least six people have died in a stampede outside a stadium hosting an African Cup of Nations soccer game in Cameroon, an official said Monday.

Naseri Paul Biya, governor of the central region of Cameroon, said there could be more casualties.

The stampede happened as crowds struggled to get access to Olembe Stadium in the Cameroon capital of Yaounde to watch the host country play Comoros in a last 16 knockout game in Africa’s top soccer tournament.

Officials at the nearby Messassi hospital said they had received at least 40 injured people from the stampede.

“Some of the injured are in desperate condition,” said Olinga Prudence, a nurse. “We will have to evacuate them to a specialized hospital.”

Soccer officials said around 50,000 people had tried to attend the match. The stadium has a capacity of 60,000 but it was not meant to be more than 80% full for the game due to restrictions on the size of the crowd because of the coronavirus pandemic.
