  1. From the BBC:

    Title permutations

Whatever the outcome of the Lancashire v Middlesex game today, we are going to have a three-horse title race next week.

The maximum number of points Yorkshire can now get is 228, the maximum for Somerset is 227.

If Middlesex win today, they will have 224, so they will only need a maximum of five points next week to win the title.

If Middlesex draw today, they will have 213 (a nine-point lead) – and therefore, in theory, could not win the title purely on first-innings bonus points next week.

If Middlesex lose today, they will have 208 points, so just a four-point lead over Yorkshire.

I think it's even better than that. Wasn't Clarke the one that Christian Roberts skinned just before scoring the winner?

I think that is wishful thinking, I always thought it was a centre forward playing at right back due to an injury

Looking below it was Eifion Williams

I am finding it increasingly difficult to keep up with all of their official boycotts. What was the official excuse reason for not achieving the normal sell out of the Mem which they assure us happens every match?

Expect it was something to do with the SAG?

I've got it all sorted. The title is ours:

Win tomorrow gives us 203 points

    Yorks on 204

Lancs will battle on for a draw leaving Middlesex on 213

Next week Middlesex and Yorks have a highly entertaining maximum bonus point draw and end up on 226 and 217 points respectfully.

Leaving us to thrash Notts by 23 or 24 points and winning the title either by most amount of wins or 1 solitary point.

    NURRRRRSE!

How about if it rains all 4 days in London and they both get 8 for the draw?

    11,300 "crowd".

Which should put all that "Bristol is really a rugby city" bollocks firmly to bed for good.

Imagine if that was the attendance for our first home game in the Prem..

Amazing that more people turned out for the play off final than the first league fixture in the Prem

I guess we are going to get our "free" ticket for the rugby earlier than planned in the hope that some of us go back again

Hung around after the game for a pint. Great buzz around the stage with a 14 yr boy playing guitar like a pro. He was whacking out some great classics. Very talented lad.

I'm guessing that was Senna as I believe Daz was playing at the ground yesterday - yeah he is VERY talented

Think if we win both then its probably our title. Lancs need to beat Middlesex next week so all sorts of permitations. Not least the weather.

    As it stands:

    Middlesex - 202

    Yorks - 201

    Somerset 180

Can we ACTUALLY win it though?

At best we get 48 points for next two matches - that puts us on 228

We'd need to ensure Yorks get no bonus points against us next week, let Middlesex do whatever against Lancashire.

Then we'd need Yorks to win without Middlesex getting any bonus points

Either that or we need at least 3 days rain in Yorkshire next week - sadly can't see us finishing better than 2nd - but 3rd most likely

If we can win this and Middlesex lose (struggling at he moment) could be set for an interesting last couple of games. Money has to be on Yorkshire winning it again though

Sadly Notts have this great ability of not being able to put two innings of note together.

What will be interesting is playing up at Yorkshire next week, then the last round of matches see's the top two play each other and we're home to Notts

It's a funny one alright. Are we at risk of a fine or points deduction given the way today has gone?

Possible but the old inspectors don't seem to clamp down on it as much as usual. I think its been a very murky/overcast day down there so tomorrow which looks fresher might stop them getting into too much trouble. Similar outcombe to the Surrey game I think?

Close inspection was done after this game but the pitch was deemed to be ok

  9. EARLY WARNING TO AVOID BBC1

On Thursday, Goeff Twentyman is taking his "Having a Gas" show to the Mem.

This is because that night BBC Bristol are holding a special preview screening of a film they've made all about the new owners of the club, the Al Qadi family.

Inside Out West flew out to Jordan to film with them at home, find out more about them, who they are and why the wanted to buy Rovers, what their hopes are for the club, what's the vision for the future.

This will be shown on BBC One ultimately, but we've got an exclusive preview Thursday night, at the Mem, just for Gasheads.

The club have been given 10 pairs of tickets for the event to give away to supporters.

So the extent of his investment to date is to buy some sarnies for the players:

"As soon as he took over, he set about making simple but important improvements to the way the club was run. He was surprised, for instance, to find no food was being laid on for players after training. So he began organizing catering for them. “If you provide food for the players to eat on the same table, that creates camaraderie and bond for the whole club and gives it meaning,” he said.

It probably was good business. Higgs ran out of lines of credit and having a multi million pound asset like the mem is meaning less unless you have a buyer / somewhere to move. So Wael pays of a few million of debt/loans on behalf of Higgs and the club as well as giving Higgs a few million to vanish. Now Wael has a nice asset worth £ ? in the mem, and has stuck all the debts/loans to buy the club in a overseas company that owns Bristol Rovers.

Or move the debt from Bristol Rovers FC across to Dwayne Sports ?

Oh, I think the boycott has worked and a good thing too...

    461 at Wimbledon
    392 at Fleetwood
    950 at Chesterfield

These are paltry attendances and send out a strong message - hopefully the EFL will have a long, hard think before they further try to wreck the integrity of the pyramid.

EDIT: Swansea's starting XI had squad numbers which added up to 340 more than the total attendance for their game at Wimbledon.

The numbering thing is just nuts !

    They had 25, 31, 57, 47, 14, 11, 63, 43, 56, 39, 36 - I bet Marvin Emnes and Franck Tabanu were gutted they were selected
