The wicket itself was too worn. The rumour was the club wanted to use the heavily green wicket instead. All rather odd.

James Franklin was in discussions with the umpires just before the toss, pitch literally got changed 15 minutes before the start of the game

This blog(?) makes interesting reading on the memorial status and appears to take a sensible view towards the gates, especially towards the bottom...

    Hasn't heard of this before

It was recently announced by Clare Campion-Smith, the Lord Mayor of Bristol, that the city’s Ceremony of Remembrance in 2016 will be held at the Memorial Stadium. Usually the service and parade is held at the Cenotaph in the city centre, but this area is being remodelled for Metrobus. The directors of Bristol Rovers FC, who own the Memorial Ground, have kindly offered to host the event.

I don't think it was down to the bowlers, reducing them to 92 off 9 was a good effort.

Yeah - as usual inept middle order batting

Not too bothered about the T20, as finals days City are home to Newcastle - that would have been a tough decision !

All I've deceided now is not to go to Glamorgan on Friday 22nd July - just stick to the paid home matches in the T20 now

Oh well, 50 over cricket is a better final

    Waller and Jamie O four wickets each which begs two questions;

Why didn`t Waller play v Glos?

Why did Arafat bowl the last over and not Jamie?

Firmly believe we would have beaten them if both had happened.

It's because Maynard has some strange obsession with rotating the bowlers and resting at least one every game

Arafat not in the team yesterday made a massive difference - Hants were a really poor T20 side

Is it just me that thinks the scheduling is all over the place? 50 over one day 20 over the next?

add to that the 50 over stuff ends today until the end of July

Kent 100% the best limited overs team - that's twice they've spanked us now this season

Oh well on to Glammy in the T20 tonight - shame the forecast is not great - oh well an evening the Ale House it is then. Just hope the coach load of coked up morons from the valleys don't turn up again this season

  6. No idea why this is on the Bristol Sport website - but they have a story saying Hamish Marshall is to leave Gloucestershire at the end of the season after 11 years

Perhaps when the Somerset fans were questioning his fielding ability last Sunday when he said he didn't care - we now know why !

  7. The other daft thing this season is the scheduling

For Somerset we play 3 games this week in the RL50 (yesterday Vs Glos, Wednesday Vs Surrey, Sunday Vs Essex)

Then like everyone else after June 15th, nobody plays a 50 over game again until July 24th

In that week Somerset play on the Sunday 24th (Glam H), Tuesday 26th (Middsx H) and Saturday 30th (Sussex H)

Finishing on Tuesday 02nd August at Hants

Special mention to all the cocky Glos fans celebrating their 'win' from 35 overs onwards - what a bunch of ******* you looked at the end! All left very quietly...

Stand up if you're going to Lords - Ha Ha Ha Ha !!

Still cannot get my head around how we ended up losing this one! Jamie Overton and Gronewald looked as composed as any 2 batsman I'd seen all day. Never even gave us a sniff of a chance other than that run out. Fair play and a lot of respect to those lads for standing up and seeing their team home.

Was sat in the Somerset Stand, and there was some sort of mini-exodus as soon as the 9th wicket fell down! Like the Dolman early leavers! I bet they wish they had stayed now once they got home and saw the result. Unbelievable finish to a great contest, both sides putting on a great show for the Sky camera's. Gutted we lost, but this is a group match with little riding on it but some local pride.

We have a proven track record on the big stage when trophy's are on the line, unlike the perennial chokers that are Somerset!

There was only one team that choked yesterday and that certainly wasn't Somerset - amazing to say nothing riding on it, thats points won / lost clearly something was at stake

Glos fans always remind me of Rovers fans - always piping up about this and that, but clearly always in our shadow

Seriously though - agree about it being a great game to watch. Over 500 runs - 19 wickets and a match down to the last over.

I've no idea what Gareth Roderick was doing on the run out - that was as easy as you like

Was impressed with Chris Dent's innings - but 260 should have been much easier to chase down.

A combination of village cricket batting and decent bowling when we went from 166-3 to 198-9, but for the second time in a week it was left to our bowlers to get our batsman out of jail

All in all, a great advert for West country cricket
