  1. And yet no matter how people might spin it, this is our sixth most successful season (league position wise) in the last 40 years. Serial under achievers for sure, but we have progresssed year on year. Really? I certainly wasn’t. I can’t remember the last time I felt optimistic going into a new season. 2019 perhaps, when Mark Ashton was running riot, and we were signing Monaco wonder kids and the like.
  2. Just like Brum, they’ve been flirting with the drop for a few years. Only a matter of time before their luck runs out I reckon.

    8-1

A random statistic but interesting nonetheless. They’re in a pretty similar position to us overall, treading water, relying on selling their best players and suffering from a pretty horrid to watch brand of football. Neither team are going anywhere fast.
  4. For me, the Mount Rushmore of horrible fans in this league are Leeds, Stoke, Birmingham and Cardiff. One of them went down, one of them missed automatic promotion and another got battered. Honestly, the day could have been worse…. Stoke should hopefully be the ones to finally drop next year.
  5. After hearing the news of Pearson leaving, we’d have all been delighted if someone told us we’d finish 11th, with a positive goal difference and a cup giant killing. It’s a shame that today has put a massive dampener on what has otherwise been a solid end to the season, but that’s human nature I guess.
  6. There’s no way we won’t concede a fifth.
  7. Looks like we’re finishing above Cardiff at least !
  8. Thought the forum was better than this tbh…. There’s not much empathy for people going through a hard time.
  9. I’m going through quite a tough time at the moment. Really don’t need this… EDIT: Yeah thanks for the reactions guys…
  10. Somebody needs to wipe the town of Stoke off the map.
  11. I don’t understand why anybody would support Stoke. If that was my hometown, I’d be utterly ashamed to come from there and would want to distance any connection with that blot on the landscape. I can’t believe people would actually live there and be proud to support a team that represents it.
  12. How the hell are we 3-0 down to this absolute shower of crap?
  13. I’m with my pal Super. I like Ipswich and think they’d be a breath of fresh air in the Premier League next season. I’m not bothered about the Mark Ashton factor, he’ll be found out one day. I’d love to get rid of Leeds, but I think they’ll win the playoffs anyway if they miss out. At the other end, I really think Argyle will drop. They aren’t scoring goals, and if Birmingham go ahead, the nerves will really set in. They are no strangers to last day disasters either. Still not sure which game to watch, I guess I really should watch City but….
  14. The perfect final day in the Championship with everything still to play for at all ends of the table. More than half the games have something riding on them. Can’t wait to sit back and watch everything unfold.
  15. Absolutely robbed by Stoke at our place back in September. Genuinely one of the most undeserved losses we’ve suffered in recent years. It’s a shame we can’t send them down but let’s at least give them a pasting and see if we can break into the top ten.
  16. With all the home games of the season complete, our average attendance stands at 22,548. This is our highest average since the 1977-78 season and our third highest since the mid 1950s. Although undoubtably boosted by the impressive away followings we’ve had this season, and not always a true reflection of the number of bums on seats at any given game, I still think this is noteworthy. The football hasn’t been great, and people are struggling with the cost of living so good effort everyone! Hopefully we can continue to grow the fanbase.
  17. Some of City’s best ever moments have come in replays. Imagine if they never happened. All the things that made the FA cup special have pretty much all gone now. But at least Liverpool have time for their post season friendly in Malaysia.
  18. It was the middle of the night/early morning for me in some northern industrial Chinese city. I bought some red champagne to pop open when we clinched it but for some reason I wasn’t expecting it to be that night, Bradford away was a tough game back then. So promotion bubbles, followed immediately by eight hours of work. Awesome.
  19. No matter what people say, you’ll will be missed. We aren’t a big Premier League club, where a seat will immediately be taken by a person on their season ticket waiting list. Every fan is valuable. I hope the club realises this too because the trend of increasing attendances won’t continue without a better quality of product on the pitch and if we end up going backwards, they’ll need the core fanbase to stick with them more than ever.
  20. I’d renew if I was still living in the UK but only because it’s a chance to spend time with my father, and it’s an age old routine that I couldn’t imagine not doing. It must feel harder and harder to justify it though when two thirds of the games we play produce football like that. People want to see exciting performances as well as results.
  21. Thanks, you’ve just put across my thoughts in a much more eloquent way than I’ve been able to ! Ive just tried selecting the form table for random groups of 13 games across the season using that website. I’ve seen Preston, Norwich, Sunderland and Watford appear in that bottom 3, all teams nowhere near relegation. I’m sure I could find a lot more teams if I could be bothered. It’s no way to try and establish an argument.
  22. Again, I wonder how many teams have been bottom 3 in the form table at some point this season, particularly when artificially selecting a group of games?
