  1. I hope all the boycotters enjoyed their visit to B&Q this afternoon.
  2. Well done Manning. After some of the absolute bile spouted towards him in recent weeks, I’m really pleased for him. Thanks for giving us home wins over Leicester, West Ham and Southampton!
  3. We might have a complete disaster of a season next year and get relegated, but probably so will they. No matter how bad we are, the gap always persists.
  4. Bristol City are a complete failure of a football club, and have been for pretty much the entire time the gap has existed. What on earth does that say about the blue few ?
  5. I had a dream that the Thailand national team joined the FA cup and City got drawn away against them. The away allocation was full so my father and I went in the home end but everybody knew that we were away fans cos we were the only white people there. Then they started singing the Christmas carol “glory to the newborn king” as the teams came out. We lost 2-0.
  6. Which teams still have parachute payments? I’m guessing Saints, Leicester, Leeds, Watford, Norwich and West Brom. Any others? I’d guess that Hull and Middlesbrough both have bigger budgets than us too, and perhaps Stoke? Would be interesting to see.
  7. I try not to judge Manning based on the ridiculous expectation set by the board for this season. I understand why some do, but for me it just highlights where the real problem lies. For the here and now, I think Manning is doing about as well as could be expected with this squad of players. We might have been a couple of points better off under Nige with his greater experience (who knows) but I think top ten is about our ceiling as things stand. And surely if you look at the value and cost of our squad, we’re about where we should be? Comfortably safe, but a long way off the parachute teams who have huge budgets. I also understand the OP’s concern about this summer. There will be a lot of comings and goings as Manning tries to tweak the squad to suit his style of play. What we see then will look quite different to what we have now. Do I have faith in him to get things right? I have real doubts to be honest, but then I have even bigger doubts at the ability of the board to find another option that would be successful. As a city fan, I’m jaded by years of false promise and underachievement. I can’t see how a change in management or vision at this stage would make any difference with the current people running the show, so I figure we might as well roll with it and see what happens.
  8. That was…… not the best start for him. The entire team were garbage though and clearly weren’t up for the game.
  9. Just the latest in a long long series of having hopes raised, followed by abject disappointment. Why can’t we EVER have nice things? I really hate this football club. They know how to kick me when I’m already down.
  10. It seems we can only produce a decent performance once every 4-5 games.
  11. Massive opportunity today to really get the momentum going in the first of a run of winnable fixtures. Up for this one more than I’ve been for a while !!!
  12. How about you stop being condescending as per usual. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with the posts you quoted, and what does “artificially frame group of results” even mean? One of the worst posts I’ve read on here for a while.
  13. That figure will go down, with some long trips still left for them to do. The best away fans in the world will average less than 1000.
  14. I want us to win every game, apart from the home match against Blackburn. I’d like us to lose that one 1-0 if possible.
  15. Massive opportunity missed for QPR last night to claw themselves out of the bottom 3. That could be a very damaging result indeed for them, and hopefully it will affect their morale and confidence.
  16. I feel like you’ve accurately predicted the future. All it will take is a draw on Saturday and the feel good factor around this place will disappear and we’ll see the usual suspects out in force. The mood is so volatile these days.
  17. The only “but” I can think of is that our inconsistency is such that we could well go and have a stinker against QPR! That’s nothing but speculation though, I really cannot fault anything about tonight. Every single fan on this forum has earned the right to enjoy this result. We’ve been through some hard times and this is what keeps us smiling !
  18. Whaaaat my stream just went down and we scored a second!
  19. That was a decent watch. Fully expect Southampton to turn the screw more in the second half, but if we keep them out and get a point, that would be a decent enough evenings work.
  20. When the opposition score all five of their penalties, that’s very difficult to match. Credit to Mehmeti, Cornick and Wells for converting under such pressure, unlucky Sam Bell. I feel our season isn’t quite over yet. We’ve got another 12 points to accumulate before we can hit the magical 50. Hopefully we can do that sooner rather than later!
