Just remembered @Olé @Shtanley @petehinton, Tinners was once an exceptional guest on OSIB. I cannot for the life of me remember the episode, but I'd love to listen again in his memory. A few others might like to listen as well maybe?

Could you kindly post the link or episode number if you have it?

    Edit: found it!

    Episode 87 "Double-Dipping Disappointment".

Episode 87, thankful to the podcast for being able to hear his voice and sense of humour. Lovely last minute of him signing off sums up how he felt about our club.

There’s a lot of convenient and lazy re-writing of history that goes on to suit agendas on OTIB, and Millen is far from being alone in suffering from that. SOD is another, and there are more besides.

Disagree, no agenda but both were awful. SOD gave us some brief hope at the start of 2013.

Has there been a solution agreed ?

There has been no agreement yet. Matter is completely bonkers, Chester have never had access to welsh govt support and rich of them raise this dispute now. I doubt they were even aware and was probably highlighted to them by a busybody.

A couple of quick points -

Pay - although up slightly it would also cover -

    • LJ's pay from July to 2020 to September 2020 and a full settlement of his contract ending in June 2023.
    • DH's pay from February 2021 to April 2021 and a full settlement of his rolling 12 month contract.
    • Potential end of contract bonuses for the players leaving in the summer.

    Amortisation

    • Unamortised player costs left at 31 May 2021 £14 million

    Covid

    • Turnover down by around £11.5 million on 2020, or £15 million down on 2019.

I thought football manager contracts these days = salary paid for leavers until they get a new job? Or paid until end of contract if they don’t get a new job, obviously.

Also, i believe a full year of Wells compared to prior year is an additional circa £1m in wage bill.

  5. I notice that Mark Ashton isn’t listed as a director in the accounts even though he was during this accounting period. It’s normal practice to still list him in the accounts but with his resignation date in brackets (if occurred before accounts have been released). Presumably they didn’t want to disclose his remuneration in note 7, for us all to baffle at!

Good point but surely there is an accounting adjustment for early season ticket revenue on this season, which has not been fulfilled. I've assumed season ticket revenue as published is banked and relates to the 20/21 season only within the trading year. £700,000 is what, about 2500-3000 season tickets? If it's inclusive of early sales this year, that makes the benevolent actions in 20/21 much smaller. How many names were on that third shirt?

Yes, 2021-22 season ticket sales won’t be included in the revenue figure as it is deferred to the relatable accounting period.

Anyone know why staff costs rose by nearly £1m in one year?

Surely can’t be player wages, you’d have thought that would’ve come down.

This is one thing I noticed, but then we didn’t have any big leavers in summer of 2020, only some more additions I recall? Also we increased our back room staff whilst having LJ wage still payable and also a full year of Nakhi Wells compared to prior period!

Evidently there are a few Gasheads working at FourFourTwo on a wind up

    • 76 Ashton Gate
    • 75 Twerton Park
    • 71 Memorial Stadium

    https://www.fourfourtwo.com/features/ranked-the-100-best-football-stadiums-grounds-britain-uk-england-scotland-wales

Bournemouth are 3 places above us, and Stoke and Bolton despite both being new builds in the middle of nowhere are in the top 50 if you want to get the measure of this ranking. Villa Park is below only Anfield, Fulham and Old Trafford in England, proving the people who came up with this nonsense have never been to a real match in their lives.

I read this list earlier Via a clickbait pop-up, instantly thought what a load of nonsense and not worth any more thought!

Little bit surprised there is no concrete(ish) candidate yet.  I don’t think 4/5 on is that concrete imho.

Frank Lampard , id be surprised considering he turned down Norwich in the premier.

Marc Bircham a random one and don’t see him as a manager type, but I believe he worked in the US for another club in their .owners portfolio so probably something in that.

Also can’t see Tony Mowbray leaving Blackburn where he has got them, despite being an ex-player

Of course he has more power, he has 360-degree “his” men around him….O’Leary above, Rolls, Costin on the medical side, Werhun on operations plus one other (name redacted) who goes into the dressing room before games.  Also had Probert in Academy now too.

“Let me clear” means “I’m about to lie”.

Cook was a dead man walking.  I bet Morsy is delighted.

In Rene’s defence, McGreal was his manager at Colchester.

I always used to laugh when the ‘let me be really clear’ came out, and what always followed was anything but clear.
Can’t stand the bloke, and feel embarrassed that he was running our club for a number of years.

We left after their third. Was it really that bad?

Yes it was very clear, the few players that started to walk over were told where to go. I noticed Weimann walking over but turned away pretty quickly in a huff
