Brilliant, so that you can have numb knees as they are pressed against the back of the seat in front of you for 90 minutes or are squashed either side by some large bloke as the seats are too close together. Oh and don't forget the wind that whistles across the Dolman from the park and on a good day you are blinded by the sun.
No thanks I'm more than happy sitting (and singing) from the middle of the SS.
I'm not necessarily endorsing Riggers' idea, but you say it like the Lansdown Stand doesn't exist.
Given the popularity and positive impact on atmosphere of standing at football matches, one out of three home stands given over to standing doesn't sound that unreasonable to me.

Apologies if already shared, but this is a brilliant clip of the Radio Bristol commentary for the goal. Great work from Hadwin and Owers. We sound amazing too!
I’m absolutely drinking in everything I can find from yesterday!

We had about 15% of their ground, that’s about 15% of ours. So fair enough I think. Possibly means a bit of space in the Atyeo for home fans if the demand is there.

What a moment
Love this clip, it actually captures the noise and the mayhem behind that goal pretty well. What a sound when that ball hit the back of the net!

That second half has got to be our best 45 minutes since first half against Manchester City away in the Carabao cup semi hasn’t it?
Other suggestions welcome!

I would say “great view” - but it’s so far from the pitch, it looks binoculars would be needed to identify what was happening at the far end! And what’s with the enormous gap just in front of you? Just to have you even further away from the pitch?!
It’s not as bad as the camera makes it look. The gap is because the lower tier slides back for athletics events.
People moan about the stadium, and it’s certainly not perfect, but we’ve just had an absolute hell of an afternoon there!

Got to be honest we’re looking like National league team here for the day out…. Distinctly average thus far, not sure we even have a midfield right now the way the West Ham are cutting through it.
Not bad for a National league team eh Bexhill?!

Just pleased we’re still in the game. We’ve competed well.

I would like to formally disassociate myself with these comments.

Great photo, thanks.
The lower seating areas look like a very shallow angle compared to other stadia? Not sure they would give a great view.
Went there for the Para Olympics but it was a different layout then.
Not a particularly shallow angle, I wouldn’t say. Most stadium lower tiers are shallower than the upper tier. I’d say this one is similar to Wembley, for example.

Hopefully people will abide by the unwritten rule of people needing to sit going near the front leaving 99% stood.
Actually, it’s very unusual for a Prem team (with a few exceptions, usually smaller newly promoted clubs) to have anyone sat in an away following.
That doesn’t work today. It’s a sold out away end with separate entrances for the upper and lower tiers. Upper tier is safe standing. People need to go to their allocated seat, it’s the only fair thing to do today.
5 hours ago, Shauntaylor85 said:The above. We all love standing I get that, but because the club could not allocate where fans sit it would be really great if everyone sat in their seat and are considerate to kids and those who cannot stand for long periods. If we want to be a PL club let’s act like one.
The upper tier is safe standing. So that isn’t going to work.

Good Luck everyone going, and better luck getting there.
I was meant to be in hospitality today, but a rapidly declining Crohn's issue for me, resulting in an operation in 2 weeks, has led to me, being in a lot of pain, and not able to travel very far at present. So hoping to find a stream to watch online.
Very sorry to hear this. I had surgery for Ulcerative Colitis in 2011, so I can fully empathise with you.

Do games usually get held up if travelling fans are late?
No, but that doesn’t mean West Ham don’t “give a toss”. I like to think the football family is better than that. If it was the other way around I would absolutely welcome a delay if it meant away fans didn’t miss out at great expense.

With respect, West Ham won’t give a toss if City fans can’t get there for k/o time.
Why rush to that judgement? You don’t know that. Whether they are able to or not is a different question, but they may well do their best to be considerate to the fans.

should have travelled last night like I did - people knew the trains were going to be a problem today. I have no sympathy

Reduced service on the Elizabeth line. I’m at Ealing. Direct train from Ealing to Strenford was cancelled due to overhead wire problems, so now on one to Whitechapel. Not entirely sure if any Lizzy line trains are getting to Stratford.

Did Ealing to Stratford today direct in about 20 mins. So many better than the same journey on the Central Line that used to be like putting pins in your eyes being so long
Direct? Thought you had to change at Whitechapel?

Er, this is awkward. I think I'm wrong.
Many apologies @ChippenhamRed, I've just read up a bit (ahem, should've done it before), and found this https://researchbriefings.files.parliament.uk/documents/SN03937/SN03937.pdf
I am obviously years out of date, and thought rail seating was the only proscribed method. I even thought thats what we had in s82 @Wedontplayinblue.
I'll put myself on the naughty step for a short period!
Fair play, no apology needed and at least you had the balls to acknowledge it!

I booked that area to specifically stand, as I do at Ashton Gate. I see it as exactly the same
Yes, that’s how I see it. That is simply how “safe standing” has been implemented at the London Stadium.

Safe standing

I think the only way to really agree on an approach to this is to formally poll the fan base to determine the interest level in standing, and whether the demand for standing areas currently exceeds supply. If so, increase it accordingly, if not, leave it as it is.
