Without getting into the whole racism argument (which I find abhorrent btw), I am good mates with a City fan who was banned from all football matches for 3 years by the club/courts and also had to hand his passport whenever England played.
His offence was for standing up in, what was then, the Grandstand and telling the Millwall fans who had been giving it loads all game to, "**** off you cockney c*nts".
A steward decided he was inciting violence, threw him out and reported him to the Old Bill who immediately arrested him, took him to the station and chatged him. It went to court and he hence got the above ban and a criminal record.
The whole point of the above post is only to show that when it comes to incidents involving football fans, things can be completely blown out of all proportion.
Again, I'm not, and wouldn't ever condone racism against anybody, but I do think if the bloke who got a very light punishment for this did it anywhere but in/near a football ground, it wouldn't have ever been reported in the press.
Let's face it, as footy fans we have to put up with being treated as scum. Whether that's by the Old Bill or the press it makes no difference.
Edit: Before anybody posts the usual, if it wasn't for the hooligans years ago, this wouldn't be happening argument, do you honestly believe that a phenomenon that happened 30/40 years ago is relevant today is right?
To tar every football fan with that brush in 2024 is ludicrous. We all know that what was prevalent back then has been marginalised now and the vast majority of fans are being subjected to draconian situations ONLY because it makes the Old Bill's lives easier, not because of the potential of serious disorder.
Disgrace. Millwall aren’t cockneys. Lock that man up and throw away the key

I actually thought the three subs killed what momentum we’d built up, had a few corners, crowd was lifting, then the subs kind of killed it. Bad day at office all round tbf

First goal hugely important. We had a couple of half chances missed then, they scored.

One game nearer Manning’s exit
Like any manager at any club I guess

I’m not really entertaining a genuine thought of the playoffs unless we win our next 3 games. The thought is there but it’s just sat there in the corner of my mind, occasionally waving politely

At 2-0 - too right
at 3-0 - appropriate. You should’ve seen me running along Section A4 arms aloft when Cornick scored. There’s a time and a place
Nice one. Alas I couldn’t make it last night but for the cornick goal there were absolute scenes in the John Fowler caravan

I thought Atkinson was fairly close to a return so should really be included.

Halves like that are what makes me think we are right on the brink of becoming a very good side.
Positioning, passing and decison making letting us down in the final third.
But very positive overall, brilliant discipline and structure. Pressed well when needed and got bodies forward when on the break. Thought those two blocks by Vyner when Armstrong was slipped through were stellar as well. COYR
I agree, chuck in 2 of Leeds front three and we’re 2 up there at ht

Nice bit of variation on the move down the left right at the end after 10 attacks of predictable movement. More of that please

Yep and only 3 home Saturday games with a 3pm left this season
I guess it's easing us into how next season will be with the new TV deal starting.
Yeah true it will be worse than this next season when we’re in the prem. Every silver lining ….

My abiding memory of the crumbling Ayresome Park was the sign on the outside of the stand that read:
RAND TAND EATS.
Quite a symbol of the trouble they were in that they couldn't afford to replace the missing letters.
Did they serve a decent pie in the grandstand out of interest?

I predict we finish this season 14th. Next season I predict we finish 13th. No wait 14th.

For me the issue is how safe we play. Yeah we’ll only lose by one to the better teams but a loss is a loss . in some respects I’d rather let the handbrake off a bit, lose 4-0 in some games but go after others. Might result in a win and a loss as opposed to a loss and a draw.

Half a dozen immediate post-match thoughts…..all of which pain me to say.
1 I don’t think I can remember us being outplayed for 90 minutes this season, as we were tonight
2 I lost count of how many times we passed to a Leeds player and how often we had no out-ball
3 We were very, very fortunate to only lose by one
4 If (and it is a big if) anybody ever thought we are a top six team that performance will certainly put them straight
5 A very disappointing performance, only Max came out of that with any credit
6 We were given a footballing lesson tonight
6 ticks. BINGO!

Let’s face it, we never get so much as a sniff against these horrible scummy bastards. Worst fans in football, but they’ll probably enjoy themselves at Ashton Gate again tomorrow night.
No issue with Leeds fans. Make a lot of noise , fair play to them.
