Driving through Yate yesterday I remembered that they had played the 15ers recently, wondered what the score was and so looked it up.

    0-0

    :rofl2br:

Yep, our under 21s with no players with any first team experience did indeed draw with Yate Town on the same weekend that a City team with several first teamers in hammered a, ahem,  very strong Guernsey side 1-0 :)

    Whats the story then?

I'm actually starting to get confused about it myself, I didn't realise Peterborough were now putting it about that we put in a bid for him, which seems very odd because at the end of the season Clarke said we wouldn't be looking to sign him. I think the people at Posh have put out a couple of strange stories, I think their chairman may enjoy getting people at it.

Luke James had lots of chances to shine at Rovers, and the crowd stuck with him, but I think the moment his teammates encouraged him to take a penalty he clearly didn't want to take which he subsequently missed, we all realised it just wasn't going to happen for him.

Obviously he will now go on to score 30 next season for FGR and get the winner against us when we draw them in the cup.

Depends who you comparing yourselves with Miah! Have you got enough players for a squad yet?

I think all you can really do is compare yourself with teams you play against. I'm pretty honest about Rovers, sometimes- and in very recent history- we have been a really, really bad side to watch. However, in the past 3 years or so we have been a  really good side to watch. I would say any neutral coming along to see us in the past couple of seasons would enjoy watching us. Football- like most things- goes in cycles though, and things can change very quickly.

Rovers fan I work with said to me earlier this summer that Luke James was the worst striker he had ever seen play for them.

When you have watched the likes of Christian McClean and whoever they had up front in the season they were relegated from the football league, that is some ******* accolade..

At least Christian did occasionally score.

It really is a terribly sad case. I don't know her incredibly well, but she has been around the club for years and Rovers were a huge part of her- and her husbands- life. Obviously no one can condone what she has lost her home in paying it all back and I imagine that she will regret her actions every day for the rest of her life.

Missed a couple of words there! That should have read 'No one can condone what she has done and she has lost her home in paying it all back'

Repaid the money, loss of reputation, loss of family home, addiction issue and a guilty plea...

Would there be any value in tax payers shelling out ten of thousands a year for someone who is unlikely to offend again and will struggle to get a job in a charity shop if it involves handling money?

This is the reason the Dings never move to  Almondsbury

Trusting any former or present Rovers directors to help a club get a new ground

    I rest my case

They had the ground, the membership didn't want to move there, it caused a few ructions I can tell you.

Not the same one as me when the council offered the bish land near horfield sports centre in return to let the dings move, the almondsbury site was not on the map

I really don't know what to say , other than I promise you , while there may have been talk of a move to Bish, the original plan was to move to Almondsbury, it caused quite a big rift amongst some Dings members. We even employed ex Rovers director Martin Flook to help get the move through.

The ground dings had lined up was BishiptonRFC on Bonington walk with them having to move.dings were struggling like a lot of rugby clubs at the time, how we got are new ground on one of the most prime locations in south glos is belonged me.

it wasn't, it was the Almondsbury site that Rovers just bought, I went to the meetings and everything!

If the gas had a brain they would of bought the dings landseer ave site. They had 4 pitches, a club house and car park and talking to a redrow  worker they had it for peanuts

Dings were happy with it, and the deal was in effect done several years ago, when the original plan was for Dings to move to the land that Rovers have just bought for their training facilities.

Manor Farm have 3 stands* on one side of the pitch, just think of their potential!

*Well, it's one stand, one bit of covered terracing that has a few chairs most of the time and one bit of covered terracing with a bar stool. But as there is seating I am calling it a stand.

I know. I always feel a tinge of envy when I drive past.

This is a bloke whose career is on the wain

    Exeter almost 4 whole stands

    Oxford just 3

    Rovers only tents and pavilion

    Jumpers for goalposts next

    It's actually

    One stand

    One terrace

    One pavilion

    Two tents

Which makes a grand total of 5. So we win.

I am sorry if Miah has received abuse on the Rovers forum through somehow being associated with me and I hope these posters now realise their error and will apologise.

It would also be a good time for members of the Rovers forum who are close to the club, perhaps those who know people working at the Mem or have themselves held positions within the support organisations, to confirm they have heard no suggestion at all that the club is up for sale. If they can do that I am sure it would give great comfort to fans who believe such an idea to be preposterous.

I don't think I have, one bloke said something and a couple of others put him right. Anyway, it's only the internet, people really shouldn't get so angry on it- the bastards.:)

You're getting a bit of stick Miah on your own forum, ignore 'em, were you up Hamden for the cup final, thought it was a cracking game

Am I? Oh dear, I'll take a peek and stick up for meself then! Yes I was at Hampden, bit tough on the nereves but a great day!

In your considered opinion Miah is there any substance in what was posted by Bert earlier?

Dunno- didn't read it! I struggle with his posts a bit!

Was it something about the ground? If it was, I rarely read stuff about what/maybe/shoulda/coulda happen. If we get a ground we do, if we don't we don't. It won't affect my support for the club.

He WAS awful, you could have done better Miah !

I know! I think I just popped over here for a nose and a laugh because you were having a bad time of things, and as my Rovers forum name had 'Gas' in it I thought I'd try and sneak in as it were :)

I wish I had chosen someone different, every time I log in I struggle with the spelling of Dennehy!

Having a pop at @bert tann saying he's a fake gashead and @Miah Dennehy saying he's sick because he uses the name of an ex Rovers player who was severely injured outside a pub a few years back... probably uses that name because he was a favourite player of his per chance? Because there was none on gaschat with Matty Taylor referenced names now was there?

Jeez, #gaslogic in full flow on gaschat tonight...

I don't think Maih Dennehy was anyones favourite!

I can't believe Jeremy Thorpe is on here posting as BS3City.

Surely, if he was, he would use a more imaginative name such as "Norman's wrist" or "Scott's right hand"

And, speaking of proportional representation, what a disgrace the league 1 play off final attendance of 53 000 was today.

Rovers would have filled Wembley twice over if other teams had not cheated by fielding ineligible players and denying us our rightful place in the top six.

I wouldn't call any attendance a 'disgrace', but I must admit I would have thought Bradford v Millwall would attract a significantly larger attendance than that.
