  1. So what happens when that nest egg is built up? Do we give the cash to another incarnation of LJ and Mark Ashton, who basically put us in austerity for the last three years? I previously mentioned that the best approach would be for us to get a manager in who has won promotion from this division (by hook or crook) and somehow drag us into the Premier league. NP has done this, and he needs to be backed, both where financially possible and verbally.
  2. WHAT !! Me too, this has just messed with my mind. I was certain it was renumeration !!!
  3. I'd be really intrigued to see what the clubs stance would be over producing a programme if we draw someone like Liverpool or Arsenal in the quarter finals of the FA Cup? Something tells me that in the interests of fleecing us making a quick buck, they'd be all over producing a programme charging a tenner a pop!
  4. I like how he's holding the scarf with only his first finger and thumb, almost like he's picking up the skanky pants of a 14 year old teenage boy !!
  5. Should be a good test for the new pitch, whether the roots are strong enough to stand sliding tackles in the pouring rain
  6. Completely agree with this statement, the way NP has kept us comfortably(give or take) in this division with all the constraints he's had, is testament to him. I remember equally bad squads under McInnes and O'Driscoll where we went down with a whimper. One of my concerns that I keep reading, is that NP has set the foundations up for future success, but it only needs the wrong kind of manager to get appointed once again, them go on a spending spree and lumber us with not very good players on 3 or 4 year contracts. The next managerial position is key for me. I'd like to see NP have his contract extended, and then a succession plan put in place for his eventual successor. Maybe a gradual handover of responsibilities to Andy King or Jason Euell or Curis Fleming, whilst NP grooms them for the job in hand.
  7. Looks like we're still zonal marking at corners rather player on player
  8. Dare I say it, but does the yellow socks now appear to be the same shade of yellow as the shirts?
  9. I've used the Bris P&R and the bus to Ashton Gate is a dream, really easy. However, the journey back I've found the complete opposite. By the time I've got out the back row of the South Stand, the buses are either jam packed, gone, or stuck in the traffic trying to get away from the ground, and then I'm waiting around for a loooong time!
  10. My wife took our son down, and he queued with her for over 3hours patiently. For any other event, he would be constantly fidgeting, complaining, asking when to leave, is there a snack, when's lunch etc.., but he didn't mutter a single thing as he could see his heroes up ahead. When the time came to meet Nahki Wells, he was actually shaking as he held out his autograph card, whereby Nahki reassured him saying "no need to be shy". Mark my words, this event meant so much to our son, and I expect the same for thousands of other children.
  11. Put it this way, they've certainly stirred things up on this thread if the comments are anything to go by !
  12. That's what I'd honestly like to know? He gets a lot of ribbing from people on here, but is it actually JL coming up with the rebranding, or have they outsourced (or insourced it) to someone else? I know these decisions ultimately comes from the top, but we're not hearing a dickie bird from them. Are they being misled by so-called "branding experts" who don't really get the passion and history of football clubs and the association that fans have with specific colours and badges?
  13. Im sure the Supporters Club Survey had a statement in one of the questions that said the club wont be producing either printed OR digital programmes this season, and that a proposal maybe in the fan led Cidered programme instead.
  14. It may have been a thunderbolt of a strike, but from behind in the South Stand, I thought his positioning wasn't great and left far too much room open on his near post.
  15. There you go............Bajic! My memory is going ?
  16. I'm going from memory here, but I'm sure the first goal we let in against Lincoln was because he left a massive gap at his near post, and he couldn't cut the shot out. Someone might have to dig the highlights out to confirm though.
  17. More importantly, we need to find out what job he has to afford all those!!!
  18. Green and yellow are the two acceptable colours for me
  19. Fair point looking back over the last few seasons, however the article refers to the teams in their current respective divisions, so I think the article should only base their findings on the here and now. ...or to put it another way, let's ignore the article as they're shit stirring ?
  20. I dont know the answer to this, but thought I'd ask. What does our spending on incoming transfers look like in comparison to other clubs in our division this pre-season? I know wages also play a part in that, but was curious that a clubs size could also be somewhat dependent on their spending power also.
  21. I think the Gash playing at Twerton has probably rubbed off on the commentators and the embellishing of the truth! The freekick was initially described 25yards out, and then after it was scored, was described as 30-33yards out!
  22. ...or number of burned down stands!
  23. I guess our Runner-up to Newcastle in Division 1 didn't count then? I would've like to have seen points given for runner up in the lower divisions also, as promotion for either club isn't to be sniffed at? Some parity along the lines of City being the club with most Football League trophy appearances would've been fair.........but as you say, all about saving face for the gash!!
