  1. This gem on gas chat...

    Taylor giving the ref sh**e!
Wants to remember what team gave him his chance of a move to the Championship.
    ******* snake!

Firstly it was probably down to his talent and skill he got the chance.

Secondly I don't recall the gas "giving him the chance", as far as I recall they tried everything they possibly could to keep him on the cheap. Thankfully due to the not so "super secret buyout clause" and our management they ended up with their trousers round their ankles looking like fools, while the rest of the football world looked on and laughed at them for losing their most valuable asset for a pittance to their fiercest rivals.

    From their website’s match report:

“Bristol Rovers and Crewe Alexandra have all but been immovable constants in the English Football League but despite that, the two sides haven't met since April 2012, when the Gas suffered a 3-0 defeat at The Alexandra Stadium.”

For benefit the deluded halfwits from horfield - There has been nothing either "immovable" or "constant" about your membership of the football league. You were NON-LEAGUE fewer than 10 years ago - The dictionary definition of constant from google:
    constant
    /ˈkɒnst(ə)nt/
    adjective
    1. occurring continuously over a period of time.
"the constant background noise of the city"

a situation that does not change.
"the condition of struggle remained a constant"

The level of propaganda from the blue few (even on their official site) would make a North Korean government official blush

I thought they had more games in hand than they do.

Give it a couple of weeks to clear their fixture backlog and I think there will be a much clearer idea of what end of the table they will end up in.

unless their games in hand are worth 6 points each i have a pretty good idea which end of the table they are heading for

My offer stands, my phone number or address, you are welcome to both...and then you can come back on here and tell the others if I am Gas...   Family club?

gaschat after the fewers fail to con the ref (enough) to win any points is a beautiful thing for sure.

I am still trying to work out:

    • are they still coming for us?
    • is tisdale the messiah and building something special or a gert ted?

@weeblecan’t believe you lost the ‘Windass Derby’

There are very few benefits of the current pandemic... but one I can think of for Hull fans is none of them will tonight be subjected to being cornered in the pub by a dribbling fewer pretending to be a all chummy because Hull City once beat us 1-0 in a game which the Gas could only dream of playing in (their favourite ever result).

No doubt this would inevitably followed by "so you prefer us to them Gert teds right?"

They seem to have a snide, unprofessional element to their corporate, Bristol Sport umbrella company which became apparent during the Taylor transfer and seems to show no sign of abating. Whilst both Bristol club’s managers might act infantile and wind each other up you expect the club owners to have some pride and professionalism and a non-antagonistic relationship of sorts as they are supposed to be the adults in the room.

Things like this do get noticed in the corporate world and whilst it might take a long old while I have no doubt that Bristol Sport’s (Men’s football division) PR chicanery will eventually come back to bite them on the ass.

Oh yeah - Wael lobbing his toys out of the pram and banning all future player transactions between the clubs after the Matty Taylor transfer was very "adult".

Looking at it a few years since...

They have NOTHING we want - so we don't care

We have a host of promising young players loaned to clubs they compete with such as Plymouth, Newport, Cheltenham, Swindon etc.

I don't suppose for a minute Tinns would have placed young players at Rovers as a "first choice", but it could have happened, still their loss is Plymouths gain.

    Embarrassing needy little fools .

The fans being needy is one thing, but presumably Northampton are asking this of their fans on behalf of Bristol Rovers (the club) becuase of an official approach.

I like how most Northampton fans are recounting the playoff semis in 1998 where the gas tannoy man "counted his chickens" by mentioing or singing about wembley (or should that be wembly?) when they had secured a 3-1 first leg advantage only for them to be done 3-0 in the second leg.

    Standard.

Sunderland and Rovers have very similar grounds. One is the Stadium of Light. The other is the Stadium of Blight

I see the fewers have Sunderland away first - how are they going to manage their annual "Do you like us better than Bristol City-a-thon" remotely?

How much do they pay the local press for this puffery?

"The Memorial Stadium is not the prettiest ground, the most modern, high-tech or glamorous. But at 3pm on a Saturday, excluding when the world is in the midst of a pandemic, what it does have in bundles is soul and passion exuding from the thousands of Gasheads supporting their team."

No wonder they believe their own myths really.

I guess pluralising thousand is technically still (just about) correct

Glad to see some honest self evaluation by fans...All aboard the League 2 express....two well matched teams in a race to the bottom

I work with a Hull City Fan - he bemoans their lack of spending on the team

That sounds pretty familiar in some regards, except the gas lap up free transfsers with tweets about "announce promotion"

Just proves what a piss take this thread is . The mutants are laying low

It has all been a bit quiet! With the lockdown and cancellation of league one there seems to have been very few opportunities for them to do something laughable every few days like usual.

I'll just throw in some random letters and numbers to cheer people up
