"Has anyone considered the fact that JB has a hidden plan to finish us off? When he was at Fleetwood and he visited the Mem it was obvious to all that he was hated by us. Maybe he took the job out of a deep seated plan of revenge! First of all get rid of the players who fans haven't been too keen on (looks good for him!) but then underhandedly replace them with worse! Play a system that doesn't work, make us the laughing stock of all leagues with his 'We are definitely going to be promoted' speech and make weird contradictory after match interviews just to give other teams something to laugh about. We have lost ALL our credibility and now have a totally divided fan base. He has added NOTHING to the club and with his upcoming court cases will make us the pariahs of the league. We are slowly becoming the old Millwall of Div 2, everyone will hate us and add more effort to beat us - although as in my first statement - JB would like to get us out of this league............. and into non- league. Then, and only then, will his mission be completed.
The man is an evil human being and not only should he be sacked by us he should also be banned from ever going to any football ground, even as a spectator. "
Rovers NEVER had any credibility as a club or a fan base - maybe they should try building some first
Being the Millwall of league 2 is a bit over-egging their own importance - I'd imagine most fans/opposition teams think their club is irrelevant other than being the next opponent and currently an easy 3 points if they dont get the aid of the ref (in fact they are far from being a cup final as Jailbird Joey thinks)

Apart from your manager, the only person at BCFC that I could name or recognise is Scott Murray. When we haven't played each other for a fair number of years, there's no reason for either set of fans to be aware of who plays for the other team. Whereas going back to the days of regular derby matches, I could still probably name around 75% of your players.
You have got a good memory Netty!

6005 - capacity is 12300
You can see why they argue they need a bigger stadium - "packing in" just under 50% of their capacity for league games.

Joey said the previous managers at the swamp were negligent and if they were doctors they should be struck off
How does he explain this?
P W D L Win% Paul Tisdale 19 5 3 11 26.32 Ben Garner 33 6 8 19 18.18 Uncle "Jailbird" Joey 21 3 2 16 14.29
Just for clarity that is a win percentage more than 20% lower than the absolute legend that is Ben Garner.
Things may be poor for us at the moment but at least we are a million miles away from their current situation.

They are late in filing accounts again though the penalties are minor.
This is simply slack.
There's going to be nothing exciting in them when they are published - big Covid losses but Wael is covering them so no issue - so why not file them on time?
https://find-and-update.company-information.service.gov.uk/company/04501223
Its VERY easy for him to cover these losses - dont you know he is the 6th richest owner in football?
"very rich indeed"
"premier league in 5 years"
"unlucky da shit"
back in the real world ... he is clearly wealthy (multi-millionaire) but owning the sags must be bleeding him dry

One belter on their forum is questioning why it's been arranged for a Friday, the day before a match.
Not sure he has worked out where the legal system and a game of football sit in the hierarchy of importance. I can't see the judge poring over a fixture list to see when best suits Bristol Rovers.
I wonder if said belter realises that Barton is likely to be in court for at least a few days. Not just an "inconvenient" Friday before a game.
I wonder if said belter realises that IF he is found guilty and IF he is given a custodial sentence he won't be picking a team, working on tactics, or taking training from HMP where-ever on a Friday (or any other day for that matter!)
I fully exepect most of their in-bred morons to blame-shift like crazy if he is convicted (it is what they do!). In their deluded eyes it will be the fault of the governement, the criminal Justice system, the EFL, us "Gurt Teds", Steve Lansdown, Bristol Post, Barnsley, Wycombe Wanderers and anyone else not actually connected with the case. It definitely won't be the fault of their current manager, or anyone to do with Rovers even though their club has employed someone currently awaiting trial for such an offence.

Excellent news, means this will drag on a bit longer causing more uncertainty for the massive club, hopefully distracting on field matters
Yep a mid season trial for their manager could be fun!
It has the potential to de-rail a good season or plunge a bad season into utter disarray (again). Is the "genius" that took over on a temporary bassis during the season just gone still there? - i seem to recall his record was crap for the 2 or 3 games he was in charge. More of that would do very nicely. -

If Joey told him all this before he signed, then it must be true ....
"What was big on bringing me down to Bristol is the fans, the club and how massive the club is. Obviously I have played at Fleetwood and Accrington and no disrespect to them sides but the fan base here is unbelievable"
They say that seeing is believing.
I guess since they wont see many fans down the mem then their fan base really is unbelievable.

They do this shit every year, don’t they?
Some load of bulk signings (4 today) that no one has ever heard of pretty soon after the previous season ends, their fans start up the “we’re going places” stuff (you are, Sutton United) & some of our more intellectually challenged pipe up with “why haven’t we signed anyone”?
Went well last year, didn’t it?
All free transfers - surely not the sort of thing the 6th richest club in the world do?
Maybe Wally has spent all his money on the Stadium opening in August

Looked into Sam Finley background - Rovers are his 8th Club (including loans) at the age of 28
Played for giants like - Southport, Warrington, AFC Fylde, The New Saints (<---watch the saggies roll out "Champions League experience" there, conveiniently failing to acknowledge it was probably in a complete spanking on aggregrate in the first qualifying round!)
The wikipedia article on him makes no mention of a transfer fee (at any time) just lots of "released" and "free transfer"
Oh and I found this - not the most reliable source, but from wikipedia:
In April 2020, Finley picked up an 8 match ban as a result of an investigation around a comment made to Rochdale's former Irish international Paul McShane, during a League One fixture on New Year's day 2020, regarding McShane's nationality.

"Sunderland are no longer a big club"
Wow, just how can someone or something make such a sweeping statement. Especially coming from a moron who's team finished bottom of the same league.
How do they judge a "big club"? Is it by how many tents they have? Or how many grounds they've squatted in? Or have they won the Watney Cup.
Just where do they get these cretinous window lickers from?
Agent lightyear teleports into Horfield.....

City 10k so far
Bears 7k so far
Pikey two bit chicken shit 1k so far
Seems about right to me.
If they continue at that level and the flyers get their arena could there be a case in the future where the gas would be ONLY the fourth best supported professional sports team in Bristol.

I was bore so decided to do the 'fact' thing.
PNE. Capacity 23,404
QPR, Capacity 18,439
Fulham- a major European final, loads of seasons in the Premier league . Capacity 25,700, soon to be 29,600
Charlton Athletic. Many Premier league seasons. Capacity 27,111
Brentford. New stadium, pushing for the Premier league. Capacity 17,250
Millwall - played in Europe. Capacity 20,146
Blackburn rovers. Capacity 31,367
Wigan Athletic - Multiple Premier league seasons plus European competition. Capacity 25133
Luton town capacity 10356, soon to be 21000
Barnsley Premier league appearances. capacity 23,287
Methane snorters -erm Capacity 12296
Bear in mind, all, apart from the sags are SEATED capacity, theirs would be around 2,600.
All of the 'smaller' clubs have modern, comfortable stadiums, apart from Luton, who are moving and QPR who, although having a much higher capacity than the 'big' club in BS7, are trying to relocate.
Bigger? Obviously! NOT!!
Nice!
Of course The fewers honours include a watney cup and also being division 5 runners up - that's probably the equal of Blackburn's Premier league and Wigan's FA cup wins right?- 1

I am afraid I went and did something rather mean!!
I decided to look into the facts behind this utter delusional gas logic - as we know facts are possibly the only thing they fear more than soap!
A bit of time on excel and https://www.european-football-statistics.co.uk/englandcontent.htm leads to a nice chart of 50 years of attendances up until lockdown in 2020
Green cells are the ones that would support their claim of being "bigger" for that season.
They could possibly entertain having an argument with fans of Brentford, Wigan and Luton....
However, Brentford appear to be on a very upward trajectory and I doubt will fall to the level the saggies now find thesleves at for a long time. Luton have seen hard times in recent decades, but are on their way back and could well establish themselves as a championship outfit for a few seasons. Wigan (recent-ish Premier League team AND FA cup winners) have had problems and they may have attendances smaller than the gas when fans return but they will still be playing in the league above -The rest of the clubs mentioned are so far ahead of their tinpot outfit its bizzare they actually appear to believe this crap.

They were certainly ahead of the times - 6 years before the COVID pandemic and they were already practicing social distancing in much of that stand.

then you get bits like this
'Clubs like Reading and Brighton along with Hull and Swansea are all historically smaller clubs than us imo.
We should be looking to emulate them all by getting to the Premier League, or at the very least Championship.'who is he trying to kid,in comparison, they are like a drop of rats piss compared to those and as for the prem, flip me 'arriet, does he mean the premiere non league league?? or does toolstation have a championship?
The last time the delluded morons had a season average ABOVE 10K was over 40 years ago in 1976!
- The last time Reading had an average BELOW 10K was 2000
- The last time Swansea had an average BELOW 10K was 2005
- The last time Brighton had average BELOW 10K was 2011
- The last time Hull had an average BELOW 10K was 2002
So in most cases its been nearly 20 years of these clubs being bigger - so I'd argue that in every instance they have been left far behind and history means very little.
I'll acknowledge that in those previous 40 seasons there may have been cases that those clubs had lower attendances (especially when brighton were at a low ebb), but it's been a long time since that, and ALL of those clubs have far outperformed the gas attendance wise. How "historical" do they want to get?
The other conclusion of course could be that they are actually bigger, but their fans are just shit and fans of other clubs are far more loyal and actually turn up to watch their team play.

Not sure why we need to bookmark it - Just in case you only checked the last posting date and the (misleading) thread title, the thread you linked was actually started in summer 2020 so was almost entirely about the season just finishing - apart from the final post in the thread.
Yet again, an example of some gasheads being over-confident ("announce promotion", "hellooooo", "the gas are staying up!"", "we got our stadium" etc), though admittedly many on that thread point out their poor record garner had at the tail end of the 2019-2020 season and their lack of recruitment in midfield and up front.
Isn't this just ANOTHER example of the gas showing poor numeracy dating back to 2020? in this case in relation to years of football seasons.
Or has one of the Mods on their North Korean mentality forum just renamed it for the coming season and i have been wooshed? In which case they really do never learn.

Yeah because everything they have done this season (and the last five years!) suggests they will easily build a squad capable of promotion from league 2 to the championship for less money in transfer fees than people pay for a kit-kat.

I have previously mentioned my deep admiration for the job Ben garner did there. I thought his "win" record would never be "bettered" for the red 75% of Bristol. Joey has done just that so far though!
Obviously it is hard to "like" Joey; essentialy he is a nauseating thug, but he is gaining some begrudging admiriation from me for the job he is doing. Bettering Garner (from our point of view) while sigining a lorry load of northern has beens, and spoon feeding the dribbling masses at the mem soundbites like "promotion gauranateed" - it's almost too good to be true thus far!
Their current plight is almost enough for me to wish he is not detained at her majesty's pleasu...Scratch that! I hope he gets locked up, but lets enjoy it while it lasts.
If carlsberg did seasons... it would have him locked up and their team self-imploding into non league oblivion come early May.
