Was just about to type the same. Looking like he might be about to have a great season.

See if we had released our team sheet in formation order we wouldn’t be 1-0 up already
I know. I've just re-written my shopping list in non-alphabetical order, just so I can get the edge in the supermarket tomorrow.

Weimann's shut me right up there. Start announcing the squad using birthdates instead of names,

Pisano played CB against Plymouth to then play LB against boro and then moved back to CB against QPR. Opposition could have based their set peices and tactics on such factors.
I disagree. They'd figure that out roughly 30 seconds after kick off and make changes immediately.
Anyway. Speaking of kick off that is exactly what has just happened.
Let's all enjoy the game.

The annoyance factor for thousands far outweighs any so - called advantage.
Exactly.
The idea that any manager in the second level of English football is going to look at that line up announcement and think "hmmmmm...well I thought they were going to play Weimann up front...but this looks like he might be playing CDM...looks like Hunt is up top. Right. Change of tactics it is!" Is absolutely laughable.

I think the opposition would be able to work out that the only goalkeeper listed in the starting eleven will play in goal.
With other positions and players it isnt as cut and dry.
Cheers mate.

Matt has said in a previous thread that City don't list the teamsheet in formation order to avoid giving the opposition even the smallest insight into our tactics for the match. Makes perfect sense really, football is a game of the smallest margins and so surrendering even the minutest advantage isn't worth it imo.
You're just the messenger, as is Matt. But honestly that is a ridiculous excuse.
List Maenpaa last then. Why are we telling the opposition who will play in goal!?

THIS is how you list a football team.

It's petty and I know there are bigger issues in the world but it ******* winds me right up.

Presumably if you have the most posession, you're likely to make the fewest tackles?
And the fewest fouls - because you never tackle.
Biggest concern is probably finishing, and the seemingly soft underbelly. At the moment we have averaged 5 shots on target per game, 7th in that particular table...yet we've scored only 3 goals.
Looking generally at the stats we are well up there in terms of passing, crosses, long balls etc, everything you'd expect from averaging just shy of 60% possession - and yet we've not managed to win yet.
For me this says one of two things. Either 1) we shouldn't worry as it is clear that beneath the results there is an ability to play good football, we just aren't getting the breaks, or 2) that is all well and good but we still need to score more goals than the opposition.
I remember after the last game a lot of people complaining off, to paraphrase, "Ineffective pseudo tiki-taka". Well the stats certainly bear things out.
Personally I am going to try to be optimistic, but without an out and out finisher (aka Tammy - is Fammy such a player?) it looks as though we may be in for a rough ride.

Heading over after work today. For the first time in a while I'm not that excited.
I hope we see a more coherent team than we did against Boro, but I expect we won't. I think for the third time in as many seasons we will leave Loftus Road with a sense of an opportunity missed.

Just list them in formation order ffs.

I’d say the sub goalie is arguably the most important sub in that if you need them you don’t have any other option!
Put it another way, you’d rather only have six subs including a keeper than seven without.
No idea, by the way!
I dunno...from an entertainment perspective I'd say the more outfield players go in goal the better.

It's the least important position in the 18 but anyone know why Wollacott is on the bench instead of Steele?
-
Just got round to watching the Steve Allen video. Anyone think there’s a tiny chance of seeing O’Dowda on the bench today?
Personally I think that Pisano aside O’Dowda has been the most missed of the injured guys.

Bristol City v Swansea City Match Day 5

I think Hunt has looked better today than he did against QPR. I thought he was really quite poor on Tuesday and seemed to be having a few issues communicating with Pisano. MAybe being alongside fulltime CBs is helping him?
