I remember the game you’re talking about, we won 1-0.

Cureton was a sub, I don’t remember him coming on although I could be wrong as it was about 18 years ago.

The real ‘welcome’ he got from the supporters was when he played for Reading.

    Allegedly.

That rumour started with Sags after he left. It was suggested on several occasions during the game against Reading that he may be in the habit of carrying bags of sweets around with him. I read somewhere that his family were in the Williams Stand and chose to leave.

Ahh yes that's right. I was starting to doubt myself.

One of the songs went ......... 'With a packets of sweets and a cheeky smile Cureton is a paedophile'.

Fair point, but not all of them - Jamie Cureton definitely played against us for QPR - I remember him playing for them at Ashton Gate - it may have been that season in the early 2000s when they finished second and we finished third ...

I'm sure some of the abuse related to the alleged incident / incidents with a very young girl related to Hollowhead.

We’ve been missing a trick then. We should be getting you on the coaching staff as your a qualified coach and knows everything an excellent coach should be.

Anyone got Nige’s number? Up the league we go we are now saved

Bit of a tedious reply but heyho have a great New Year!

Have you watched him coach then? Are you a qualified coach yourself?

    Yes and yes.

As a coach I was invited to observe at St George’s.

As I said just a standard coach in my opinion. Loads just like him  at all levels. Nothing special but good luck to him.

Sorry, I had no idea it was that serious, which is why I asked the question.  I don't think there was any need to respond in this way which seems far more ignorant in my eyes.

Lets calm down everyone. It's Christmas and we've all had a drink!

    Well, I have anyway!

Good . It needs to be made perfectly clear this racism stupidity wil not be tolerated. I hope the offender is being dealt with by poilce  and gets  a lengthy if not life ban from football

    Agree with this.

However, I do feel uneasy about games being abandoned. I need to be careful how I type this as I don't for one minute want to come across as not taking incidents like this seriously.

However, there will be those who will use any means to turn a situation to their advantage.

We have all seen matches where organised groups of spectators have gone out of their way to racially abuse players. I'm sure they would love to see the match they were watching abandoned. All those involved in football need to be very careful about abandoning matches. Feels like a giant can of worms being opened.

    I don't have the answers I'm afraid.

Great to see them in such a sorry state.

The “Bielsa Genius” myth is one of my pet hates in football.

Plus their fans are horrendous on the whole.

A relegation trio of Everton, Newcastle and Leeds is the dream.

I get where you are coming from but then we have to put up with them next season (if we stay up). Newcastle fans are obnoxious to say the least and that dreadful F'cking song Leeds fans sing over and over is almost as tedious as the whore song.

  8. I wasn't going to post about this as I was going Saturday but now I'm not. A few of us were coming up on the train from Devon but I really can't be arsed with a 3 hour round trip on train wearing a poxy mask. So it isn't the worry of catching COVID that is keeping me away but more about the process of attending.

As a double jabbed plus booster recipient I'm still really p!ssed off that the reporting of cases, hospitalisations and deaths are reported so poorly. As a population we should get a breakdown of how many of these people are vaccinated versus non-vaccinated.  I think it would help people make decisions about attending games.

In addition, it was reported today that 24% of people in the official figures of people in hospital today as COVID patients were actually admitted for another reason i.e. women in child birth, car accidents etc, etc. They just happen to have COVID at the same time. That really can't be the right way to report figures or am I way off mark here?

    Really predictable selection

    Predictably annoying!!

Bad enough that PL teams are playing each other on TV but in the FA Cup it will be largely 2nd string line ups in any case. There isn't a game I would watch on that list.

The 'magic of the FA Cup' dies that little bit more every year.

It should be about the non-league and lower league teams and their involvement. It also gives them a bit of exposure on TV across the world and some much needed cash.
