  1. Dwane Sports is disappointed to announce that its discussions with UWE regarding a potential stadium development for the Club have been brought to a close as the parties were unable to agree acceptable terms. We will now immediately turn our attention to exploring all other opportunities for a new stadium or for a substantive redevelopment of the Memorial Stadium, whilst at the same time continuing to develop the new Colony training ground. We would like to thank the Club's supporters for your continuing patience as we continue to work on this very important project.
  2. It states: “Opportunity exists to invest in English football market though acquisition of Cardiff City Football Club, a professional football team playing in the EFL Championship. “The club was acquired by Vincent Tan in 2010, whose support enabled the club to develop and be promoted to the Premier League in 2013/14 – total investment in excess of £130m.” In March, Tan denied he was actively looking to sell Cardiff, but he did add: “If I am offered the right price, I will certainly consider. “I have always publicly said that except for my family, all my businesses are for sale at the right price. I do not fall in love with my businesses.” So this Is this plan B for the gas sell the mem for housing make rovers a non league team again and rent The training ground to them. pocket all the money and get Cardiff for free change Cardiff name to Cardiff rovers win win happy days
  3. When they went back to court Sainsbury made them take a lone out against the mem to make sure they pay court charges etc i think they still owe Sainsbury
  4. As August is a few weeks away still no news on UWE ? why are they looking at land at seven beach ? why have they not made payments for fences? When are they going to pay Sainsbury for the court case? when are they going to pay for a good player? why have they got a charge on the mem ? the big question when will the billionaire spend spend money not looking to good is it
  5. Is it coincidence that the bids have been just a matter of 25-50K lower than the price wanted ? Could be a nice way of saying we tried but just never worked out. The way things are going we are going to need to announce 2 players a week, to get the 10-11 DV said he would have in the building for the 1st time since our promotion back to the FL, I am genuinely worried all is not well in camp looks like a money thing to me No UWE No players No money to pay for a fence Do you rember that guy on you tube saying how rich they are now ? love to see what he has to say now
  6. Can't this just be merged with the existing UWE thread where another poster has already suggested it's just a case of waiting for the money to arrive. I wonder if it's a straight forward process and the money's guaranteed to arrive eventually, or more like NH with Opus and Sainsbury's it could still all go Pete Tong at the last minute, as something seems to be holding up the UWE, The Colony and even possibly DC's transfer budget?
  7. I'm not normally in the know, and what I learnt this weekend isn't much but I thought I'd share it anyway. At an event I was chatting to someone that I'd never met before. During the course of the conversation they revealed that they were involved in the governance and management of the UWE. Thinking that this was my big chance to find out what was happening, I asked about the stadium and received the following three sentence answer before we were interrupted; "It's a work in progress, the UWE still want it, they're waiting for the money to come through". I assume that "they" are the club, so perhaps the hold up is the funding as much as, or even rather than the negotiations with the UWE.

  9. I truly hope we get everything we wish for from Wael and his family Not sure if it has ever been mentioned on here before but how much did he buy the club for? Also has anyone worked out if he has actually used any of his own money yet on the club, over and above what we have received in transfers and cup receipts etc bearing in mind we have approx 10 million in land/stadium value etc. When it's 100% clear he is investing his own money in this process I will be able to sleep more soundly at night. FTG Not a penny all been done from lones that's why you owe drain sports 10 million and counting
  10. They need all the footings in place if not planning ends, and they have to re apply Also all the quotes they gave will now have gone up so more fonding needed
  11. I don't see why the Al Quadi family would have bought the club unless they intended to stay for the long term and invest.I take Hugo's point entirely. After the fiasco of the Higgs era he's right to be wary. However, if the idea was to make a fast buck then buying Bristol Rovers was never a good idea. It is an even worse idea to then spend money on improving infrastructure, employing a manager on a long term contract with a top six budget, etc etc. The value of the main asset, the Memorial stadium, would soon be absorbed as debt, so at the best all they could hope for would be their money back, and that after several years of heartache. That doesn't make sense to me, they must be committed to developing the club, and for those reasons I am prepared to invest my trust. But I am slightly wary! Is this guy for real They bought the club because of being promise Sainsbury would pay out This as we all know went belly up They then transfers the mem and debt to another off sure comp The intrest is getting bigger each day Its very hard to run a club and make money most are ran at a loss the land for trading ground will be sold off and used for housing Look at how sl have invested 45 million revamp millions on players etc what have weal put in he trying to do it for free
  12. 10 hours ago Henbury "Scab" Gas said: Now i’m not one for being negative about my football club.... but i sat down last night and had a good think about our current situation ( i know, i know not a good thing to do !). I see it like this UWE is a ongoing situation which nobody has a clue what is going on. Planning is about to terminate in Jan 2018 and to date nothing is happening with South Glos. Very Little Information coming out of the club... Training ground – we have a £30,000 fence which is not fit for purpose which we still have not paid for it yet. Plans still not on South Glos planning portal. Again very little coming out of the club... DC – Nice new contract for 5 years, but as we all know. If DC wants out he will go or if we sack him he gets 12 months pay. Transfers – Very little movement again and very little info coming out of the club. When was the last time DC gave a media interview ? Now i know this all sounds a little doom and gloom but i thinks its all down to communication and we have had very little of that recently. Come on Wael, we don’t want the whole pie just some crumbs to keep us going ! The silence is deafening!!!I think in the last SH interview he said there would be pre-planning discussions with SGC before the full planning application is made for The Colony. I can't envisage plans being submitted much before the Autumn at the earliest and then how many months after that for full approval? It does seem like a very slow tedious process since they bought the land and put the fence around it. Even June next year is looking optimistic to me for the Training Ground to be functional. The charge (guarantee) against the Mem must be getting fairly close to the buffers - frankly I'm a little bit twitchy about the whole situation. UWE planing ends August Wael unable to get finance or backers willing to invest lone against the mem stacking up each week not looking to good is it
  13. Nice to see Bristol city shirt on DIY big build last night
  14. st was the deadline for UWE Project, we are 5 weeks away from 1st August........WILL THIS WEEK No nor next week nor the week after that guess what it's not going to happen
  15. I was walking pass Poundland and to my surprise Mr Alquadi walked out. We got chatting and I asked why would your son buy Bristol rovers ? He replied his son asked for a train set so I bought him a railway station in Jordan Next he asked for a circus and a Cowboys outfit I didn't have to think too long and hard, I went and bought him Bristol Rovers
  16. Count down Only thirty six days to go
  17. It's not the same thing at all!The rosy cheeked Lady Garden, aka Saint Sir Steve, the Duke of Guernsey, deliberately moved his domicile to the Channel Islands with the express intent of avoiding paying as much UK income tax as possible. After all, the poor chap is only worth about £1 billion, we can't expect the poor dear to do the same as everyone else and pay his rightful dues, taxes are only for the poor, not the mega rich.As a result of his disgraceful tax dodging, he has limited access to the UK and can only spend so many days per year here. Dwane Sports is an entirely different entity, as are the AlQuadi family. They are Jordanian citizens and pay their taxes to the Jordanian government. They are therefore free to come and go in this country as they please, and no doubt have the necessary visas so to do. Dwain Sports is no doubt an entirely loss making enterprise, and would therefore incur no tax liabilities if based in the UK.Reading the mammoth Gas thread on One Turd it becomes apparent the Shitheads are totally obsessed with Rovers. Some of the swamp-dwellers are even stalking the Al Quadi family, carrying out Companies House checks on everything Rovers related. They really are showing signs of mental breakdown. They should chill and concent ate on their own club. And what's their continued obsession with Tampax? He's gone. He used you to progress to the next level. He's going to play in the Prem. YOU MEAN NOTHING TO HIM!PS.I seem to remember that one of the conditions set by UWE before they entered into a contract to build the stadium was that Rovers put the Mem up as collateral, to insure they wouldn't lose out if for some reason the project failed. Perhaps this charge has been laid to facilitate that. PS. No your are wrong Sainsbury was going to buy the mem and the money would pay for the build at UWE , And let you stay there until it was built. your new owner was sold a dream Thinking he would pay off debt and also get a free new ground. HIggs the hustler found his mark and pulled him in All you gas heads rember you won't get something for nothing uwe we will not happen you won't get a good budget dopy only sign a five year deal to keep you lot thinking all is good when you struggle this year he be sacked and happy days you got to pay him. So far you had the ship that won't sink, the landing lights, whats next. It's a leep year August
  18. To keep planning open they need to have layed all the footings
  19. This is the reason the Dings never move to Almondsbury Trusting any former or present Rovers directors to help a club get a new ground I rest my case
  20. Hamer sounded up beat; but he said BRFC are still talking to UWE until either side decided to walk away, which is spin talk to say both sides are not close to a deal, so we better get on tidy up the pitch because we are not leaving the MEM any time soon. Unfortunately the MEM is at best a league 2 ground, which is why IMO if both parties cannot ****, get off the pot, and move on. To me if WAQ does have any serious money, which is questionable, because we have not seen any, yet, why not refurb the MEM, we dont need any more than 16/17k seats. Just get on with it, we left Eastvile in 1986.
  21. They stayed quiet on selling up and UWE until the evening post printed now they are free flowing with info every thing happy. when hammer was interviewed he sounded good about the new signing but when asked about UWE his stutter and voice changed when I use to integrate people stutter and voice change sweating etc was a good give away can some one get him on jemmy kile show see if he pass the lie detector pond get bid Steve to throw him out
  22. I fail to see how a 21,700 stadium was going to be built for £32million minus legal and consultancy fees.Either the club was going to take out more loans OR UWE was going to be part owners.Which obviously the current board do not want.Which may have been a sticking point in the deal. Now UWE owning the land still and buying a 25% share in the stadium and having a greater say over stadium use and 1/4 share ofprofits made...well that's a deal I could see them being keen to hold onto. Not a rental agreement on the land and some use of the space in the stadium. it's all about the money money money I recall a song which went like that
  23. Coombsy is one of the biggest morons on OTIB. Cant debate with him because he always has to be right and when you actually state facts he just resorts to abuse. Sad really looks like I touch a nerve can't remember being abuseing to him or her never mind the truth will be out soon maybe they will come back and say sorry but I won't hold my breath.
  24. ave try his luck at getting any good loan or free players as the club hasn't got money to give for any new players,,,fING JOKE,,,how we ever going to move on or even push for promation at this rate would be very surprised if Darrel stays Read more: http://gasheads.org/thread/6489/money-sign-players#ixzz4iPFcTCqf
