  1. People need to take a reality check. I was lambasted for saying at the beginning of the season, we were in for a relegation fight. Talk of top 6 finish was just ridiculous. If the club stays up this year, that will be one hell of an achievement. Just look at some of the big name clubs near the bottom. Their squad is far stronger than City. We are now reaping the chaos of Ashton & Johnson's reign. SL will be regretting some of the decisions he allowed to happen. NP is doing a brilliant job in my book.
  2. Agreed. Just ignore some of the arseholes on here. They continue to blow out there arse unable to understand what a shithole of a club Bristol City had been for years until NP and RG came along.just ignore the arse blowers. NP inherited a shitshow. Will take time to turn around and City may get relegated but as a football club, they will be stronger in a few years time, hopefully.
  3. Well that will knock another 2/3K off the home crowds. AG will be empty soon.
  4. Was there with a few City. Proper naughty at times but great trip. Good memories of football then compared to nowadays. Moynihan what a ****! Watched the 1st episode last night. Looks a decent watch to me.
  5. The bloke has been a breath of fresh air for City compared to all the bullshit that went on previously. Bristol City are very lucky to have him. Ignore the idiots that want him gone, they are blowing out there asses.
  6. Nope, I was also there in the mid 70s onwards as a spotty teenager () in the Dolman. Every home game as a season ticket holder with my dad (RIP). The ground was usually pretty much full up in the 1st Div days so good atmosphere was guaranteed. But agreed, they were good times also. Football is just so sanitised nowadays - hate it!
  7. Precisely, went there a few times with City, and that ground rocked with 10,000 in it. Acoustics, design of the ground - nonsense. Just make some noise.
  8. Agreed. Actually feel a bit sorry for the football fans of today’s era because you will never recreate the AG atmosphere of bygone years IMO. The whole day out at the football has changed. Real shame, but really glad I was there in the 80s and 90s. They were great days.
  9. FACT The original Dolman stand was there in the 80s/90s - when the atmosphere was rocking in the dolman. The Park End was open air with no roof and that was rocking. The old enclosure was open air and that was rocking most games. So stories about the new ground having no atmosphere is bollox v what we used to have as a ground in the 80s and 90s IMO. Sad fact is most City fans turn up and look at the phone for 90 minutes rather than watch the game and get behind the team. Another sad fact is that Bristol has very little passion for football v other parts of the country. All feels very plastic to me nowadays. Don’t really enjoy the home games nowadays, but hey, that’s progress?
  10. So I said City were in a relegation fight early season (contrary to all the happy clappers on here), we will stay up but reality is we need another season at least before we turn the corner. Difficult season but survival is critical. I don’t blame NP as the club needs time to be allowed to improve. Mid table mediocrity will be a result for me,

    17000

That is pretty conclusive - 13000 at best for me. Looks pretty empty.

    17000

Definitely no more than 11000 there last night. Never seen the dolman so empty for a Championship match.
  13. Said it before on here and say it again, the club is in crisis. Has been for a number of years. I don’t blame NP totally as he inherited a crock of shite. But at some stage soon, we need a defence that can defend and a midfield that can battle. Utter crap IMO.
  14. Regardless of your views on Jacki, but when he played, he gave a lot of us some great memories watching City. Leicester away in the Cup, was one of the best days out watching City. Great memories!
  15. Well said. One away day on Eagle travel that I do recall (there were lots), was when we went to Leicester away in the FA Cup at Filbert street. Jackie did the business on the pitch and Eagle travel did the biz off the pitch. Full coach going up, 6 City fans on the coach on the way home! One mad day. Not gonna share too many details on here but you were always guaranteed a lively day out. Great fun.
  16. Well said Maggsie. Beanie was a really great guy to knock about with at football. Had some right laughs on his away day coaches, many we can’t share on here. He was great company. Told some funny stories. Another one from my era gone. He will be looking down on City home and away along with the rest of the City lads. You are now at rest Beanie. RIP.
  17. Went to that game.with a quite a few others on a certain coach from Bemmi. It was well known that Derby had an active mob. All a bit sketchy as long time ago. Bit like the Alamo at the beginning of the match. But City won. Great game to watch. Bricks and Co post match were raining down but the lot I was with were having none of it and quite frankly apart from one big Derby c*#nt, there “firm” were dismantled by some of Bristol’s finest. The old Baseball ground was always a lively away game. City had a big reputation back in the 80s and early 90s, so away games were always lively. Quite frankly nothing to be proud of, but “if you fly with the crows, you get shot with the crows”. Great memories, but you would never get away with it nowadays. End off.
  18. I have always backed NP on this forum, quite frankly all the idiots calling for Nige to be sacked a few weeks ago, look like fools now. Amazing how they all suddenly “vanish” from OTIB. Assume, quite a few are fake City fans on here for a windup? My view is that RG and SL are going to have to try and keep this team together in order to threaten the playoffs, which will be hard. But enjoy it whilst it lasts. COYRs.
  19. Agreed. Too many false dawns for me over the last 40 years. But this team looks bloody good going forward! Defence needs a bit of work I know but let’s just enjoy it whilst it lasts. SL must keep this team together PLEASE.
  20. Not sure if been mentioned already but the Shrewsbury rap on twitter post match Gas is brilliant
  21. Agreed, which is where we have been for many years. At some stage, City will need to keep hold of the best players if they are serious about the Prem.
