Just been sent this. At last some recognition.

Not sure of the year as long ago and went to several Plymouth away at the time, but one Plymouth away we went down the night before (bus load) and the locals got agitated around Union street. Got quite hairy at the time. Enjoyed playing Plymouth home and away as always brought loads to AG also. Proper derby games.

I was not going to mention this but some well known City in those pics. Good days as a City fan as the club was on the up after some desperate years before.

Reading away made national headlines at the time.

Anyone remember the milk bottle/milk float incident v Millwall many years ago. Hijacked by City fans.

Good point. My mate (RM from Bath) got nicked and did some bird. Fitted up by the OB in court.

Personally, much prefer games v clubs like Millwall where there is some needle. The happy clapper prawn sandwich style games send me to sleep TBH. Miss the atmosphere of the old AG.

What a load of bollox

The guy obviously cares, in the heat of the battle these things happen. Rather have his approach than others in the side who clearly don’t give a shite at times. They just don’t try. AK has been badly missed IMO. One of the better performances last night. It was really pleasing to see midfield and defence actually working together last night. NP can take some positives.

Make no mistake. Bristol City are in deep trouble. This is a relegation battle through to May.

City will be fine this season, but next season .....

Just great days to be a young City fan

Agreed. And you have answered your own question to some extent. The club has been run as a shit show of a shambles for several years. Would you want to work for an employer that has quite frankly been running a business atrociousally, especially if you had a high value to another employer. Hindsight is great and I accept that. But Bristol City fans have been let down by the suits etc who claimed to “run” the club. If the club had been professionally run via a business structure mentality with an accountable chairman, board , coaching structure etc, maybe some of those players may have stayed, accepting some would have still left for bigger paydays. Many of my mates and myself have given it a miss this season, after 40 years of supporting the club. We now watch local sport and am quite enjoying it to be honest. Not really missing a soulless Ashton Gate currently. Most business losing MEGA ££s like Bristol City FC would be subject to a full root and branch independent audit identifying where this mess was allowed to snowball.

I’m surprised AG is 76 TBF as it is a soulless stadium in my opinion. Go and sit in the Lansdown, it is like a library up there.

Great post. I stopped going to AG this season after 40+ years. Really don’t miss it at all. Got loads of spare £££s to spend elsewhere. Costs me £5/game to watch local football or rugby and I enjoy it more. Football will implode sooner or later. This can’t go on.

A shambles of a club. It was on Lansdown's watch so he has to take responsibility. These accounts just say to me that as soon as we develop any player worth any value, they will be sold.This club is only going to go one way. Will not be surprised if Lansdown is already lining up a new £ backer for the football side of Bristol Sport. Where is his “chairman” (joke) gone?
