  1. Went to both games. Great memories. Big mob from City went to Hereford. One of my 1st away games. I was hooked!!!
  2. Don’t you just love NP? Hopefully the “Pearson out” brigade back off for a few weeks?
  3. This club does not deserve NP. Well played City. So pleased for this team.
  4. The "hard reset" will only happen if Bristol City get relegated. Then you can see a major clearout and quite frankly Div 1 football would affect the value of Bristol Sport/City if and when Lansdown sells up.
  5. Brilliant report that! Unequivocal proof if you needed it. This is why Bristol City is in such a mess in 2022. If anyone thinks sacking NP will improve things are deluded. Ashton and Johnson supported by an owner who took his eye of the ball. This is why City have a difficult season ahead.
  6. Someone did a financial Bristol Sport accrual (estimate obviously) on here a while ago to its worth and think it is safe to say SL will do OK financially when he sells up.
  7. @Kid in the Riot I follow your posts as I know you are ITK at City. Infact you have been right on several occasions in the last few years when many ridiculed you on here at times. Your last sentence is the bit that I have to agree with. SL has failed to deliver a team capable of Premiership football. Got close yes, but ultimately failed. The Ashton/Johnson failure will be his legacy amongst most City fans, rather than the ground, which is great but ultimately it is what happens on the pitch for me. A real shame.
  8. Which is why the Tom Thumb song was sung by everyone. Every fan knew it! What you get today is tosh IMO. But hey, that’s progress?
  9. And the return of Bristol derbies. It ain’t all bad.
  10. You go to away grounds with a bit of edge - the Old Den, Molyneux etc and it really is a 12th man. Work takes me around the country and everyone speaks of Bristol City as being a “quiet lot”. Why is it? Sure the new AG ground is relatively crap for atmosphere but why? One of my views is that there are a lot of “happy clapper/tourist City fans” nowadays, but ST sales are still good? Many go every home game. The club lacks a bit of passion IMO and that translates through the team at times. Funny old game.
  11. Agreed. For example back in the 80s, the lot I went with, we would always belt out the Tom Thumb song. Everyone sang and got behind it, quite often in a pub outside the away ground we went to. Was a real rallying call to City fans, and sounded bloody good when you got a few singing it. Miss all that nowadays.
  12. The club probably does need fresh faces, new ideas so a new owner might work (gamble though). Currently, BCFC as a club is limping along. Would rather wait until a fully fit squad is available before talk of relegation but the early signs are not good. Maybe it is time for a new owner as it looks like SL has lot his appetite for BCFC. But things are nowhere near as bad as the days of the Ashton Gate 8 - most on here will have no idea how bad it was then.
  13. Spot on. Unequivocally the club is FOR SALE. Only a matter of time.
  14. The club has been treading water for several years and slowly heading towards relegation. A positive change of ownership would be a risk but getting relegated is a massive risk also. Time for a change if the right buyer can be found.
  15. 20,000 City - don't think so. It Sunderland score 1st, it will be like a library again for sure. All the noise, will be coming from the Mackems. Lets hear some noise from the “Lansdown Library” for once.
  16. Just want to say that Stoney will be the main man on Saturday but don’t forget all the others who have passed away down the City. Like most on here, I have lost some really good mates over the years and City games just ain’t the same without them. Ricky M from Bath, Divvy, Ronnie to name three who I personally knew well. Many more I know. RIP lads. We were a great football family back in the day. I know they will be looking down on City on Saturday. COYRs.
  17. You wanna take a look at Rangers last weekend, the worlds gone mad.
  18. Great following that! Haway the lads! Not many clubs fans will travel as well as Sunderland this season. Proper football club is Sunderland. Had a Mackem stay with us for nearly 8 years Monday to Friday. As a season ticket holder, he drove back for every midweek home game and then drove through the night back to south Bristol to be in work for 8am next day. Decent folk up North and generally they know their football in my experience.
  19. I hope I’m proven wrong, but could be another long season.
  20. I would take a draw today. We generally don’t start seasons that well and worried a 1 - 0 defeat could happen. Scrappy game with few chances. Might need a few games to gel a few new signings.
  21. Not just a City legend, but a BRISTOL legend. Will be sadly missed. Even the blue few are paying tributes.
  22. That is a great fact. Worked up there for a while and they worship the club. When you ask who is a big club, Sunderland are. Hope they do well this season as their fans deserve it.
