  1. I think avoiding relegation will be a good result. Don’t think there are many weak teams left in the Championship, and weaker teams will continually strengthen if needed. Found our level in the Champ.
  2. Post match, I can personally recommend the infamous “North street pub crawl”. If you make it to “Spoons”:at the top of North street sober, you are a better man than me. Always entertaining, with some good pubs on the way. The Masonic is usually a decent stop off for a few.
  3. Agreed. Life is far too precious, and as you get older, you get wiser. Have lost close family and some great mates (City fans also) to the Big C. Puts life in perspective when someone close passes. Well said @weepywall. No need to say anything else.
  4. Agreed Stockholm was sketchy to say the least after the England game, but Italia 90 was just as bad. They were riding around on there scooters stabbing England fans up the backside and then driving off - cowards. Lots of England got stabbed. Having said that, they were great days as England fans just took the place over. It is all a bit chilled out nowadays which is probably just as well.
  5. Yeh, we went. No tickets, bought some off the touts for the Sweden end. They were OK with us sat next to them. Camped in tents in a big park (always travelled 5 star back in those days!) in Stockholm for a few nights, well dodgy. Sweden had a firm called The Black Army or something (skinheads) and were looking for small groups of England fans to pick off before the Sweden game. The OB encircled the whole park to prevent a full scale toe to toe breaking out. Few hundred England but sounded like a lot more Swedish. They were protecting us! Remember there being a lot of scousers there, plotting up/ on the thieving, big mobs who were robbing all the smart shops in Stockholm. Got some old photos of the trip somewhere and will dig them out one day. Think we got the choo, choo to Stockholm but my memory is fooked. I remember England lost and we left the ground early to wander in to a fall scale clash between England and the OB outside whilst the game was still going on. Was at Italia 90 also and following England in those days was never boring. Just glad I survived it looking back. Always plenty of City away with England in those days. Several still post on here.
  6. They will fill the away end at AG. Brilliant support.
  7. That table (apart from Cardiff) looks pretty much right to me. Our squad will need to step up in terms of consistency to stay up. Difficult season ahead.
  8. Grounds that have “soul” today are grounds linke Goodson, Elland road, etc. AG is like a library most games. Too many happy clappers nowadays, and as others have stated, no needle. Miss the atmosphere of the old East End, the Dolman B Block, or the enclosure. And let’s not forget the old Park End. What has the new ground got?
  9. Great pic, good memories of the old ground. Much preferred to the soulless ground today. But that’s progress apparently.
  10. The only certainty is that Bristol City will have a relegation fight next season. Bristol is such a backwater for football that very few decent players want to come here.
  11. Seen plenty of white moustaches in certain pubs on North street in last few seasons.
  12. Well played Sunderland, glad they got through to final. Football in the NE is a religion up there. Hope they go up.
  13. OK, ***** like you can **** off because most on ere hate the scum. I ****** hate the *****? Excuse my spelling as I’ve been on the piss all nite and quite frankly I hate the *****. CSF1984. Happy clappers can **** off you *****
  14. All these Happy Clappers saying “Well done” aren’t true City. **** um.
  15. Stick to your crown green bowls. FFS. Always have, always will hate Gas scum.
  16. Agreed, FGR are putting many clubs to shame. The owner is leading this and he has got to be given credit. Gr8 to see a ‘village’ football club doing well.
  17. Great thread this. Did a few City footy specials as some have already posted on here. Orient, Gillingham, Plymouth to name three to be remembered. Did quite a few independent away days with a certain group of City fans on the train also - Wolves, Millwall, Sheffield Wednesday, Stoke, Charlton, QPR, Pompey were all lively days out. One of the best trips to footy on the chuffer though was England away - Bologna, Italia 90 (Platt scored the winner v Belgium). Caught the train out of London and night train out of Paris Nord, woke with my head deep in some woman’s cleavage next am in Italy, good nights sleep that! There was always something special about arriving at a destination train station not knowing who would be there as a welcome committee.
  18. If the scum had stayed off the pitch, the OB would probably not have let the City fans in through the gates. You come looking for trouble at AG, you will get it. Everyone knows that. Rovers games are the only games when you bloody hate the away fans. Makes my piss boil.
  19. Get the defence, midfield, forwards sorted and we will be contenders. Otherwise another season of struggle……
  20. If that *** Johnson came back, there would be a mutiny at AG. Not even someone who has no idea about running a football club like Lansdown would be that stupid - would he?
  21. Pretty obvious really to most on here, but SL and JL just can’t see it.
