Italian World Cup I went to along with a big group of City fans. The BCFC bulldog flag on this thread page by @sticks 1969 is my mates flag he designed especially for the Italian World Cup. Most of you on here would be amazed who that flag belongs to. So is he a thug because he followed England? The Italians were riding round on mopeds and stabbing England fans in the backside and then riding off at break neck speed to get away - cowardly act. As an England fan, you had to stay in a group (some would call it a mob on here), otherwise you were picked off by the Italians. Disliked Italian football fans ever since. RIP Ricky M from Bath who was there with us in Italy - great times following England.

Correct Magger. Most on here were probably sucking mummy’s tit at the time. What people on here don’t realise is that there were a certain group of City fans (yes they were fans) who between them could pull together 200+ lads fairly easily (Bedminster, Knowle, Whitchurch, Barton Hill, Kingswood, Taunton, Bath etc who were all well connected) when they knew there fans were coming to Bristol to have a row. Unless you were about at the time, it is probably hard to understand nowadays as football on a Saturday was often a battlefield.
  4. Forest, Leicester, Bradford away in the Cup were all brilliant. Bolton freight rover, Gas Eastville in the cup (1-0 down, 2-1 up) all bring back good memories. Some of the best memories for me though were those long away trips up North where part of the “fun” was getting there and then getting back, often after some needle. Ashby de la Zouch was a regular stop off for the lot I went with and that was usually tasty. Also went through a spell of calling in on Swindon on the way back from London clubs - the locals were not amused. Watching football back in the 80s, 90s was not for the faint hearted. All pretty tame nowadays.

Agreed, I thought it was a good interview with “Steve”. Came across well.
  6. The Main Course Is Not Enough.
  7. Leicester away what a day out that was. No one gave us a chance. Thousands went from Bristol, great old ground Filbert Street. Jacki as you state dictated the whole game that day - and Leicester were a good side. Great memories. The ground was semi frozen due to the cold weather, players were falling all over the place, whereas Jackie just drifted across the pitch with full balance and composure. The sign of a quality player. Just watch the YouTube video. For Andy Cole to credit Jackie, when he played with Cantona etc says it all. Tomlin, forget him, not even on Jackie’s page. Jackie was that good.
  8. Leicester away FA Cup Filbert Street 1992, Nuff said! Andy Cole's book is a good read. Lots of people have there challenges in life - Jacki was no different, most on here will have them also. Great days following City back in the 80s and 90s.
  9. Used to go in Man In Space for a beer with an old mate, but the one that used to amaze me was The Venture in Knowle West. Ran a few football specials back in the 80s from there and what went on during the trip to and from away games is not for publishing on ere. Pub now gone. Outside of Bristol, The Blue Flame is still an old skool pub worth a visit if you are ever around Chelvey, near Nailsea. Great in the summer on a weekend.
  10. What a player for Bristol City! One of the reasons I support City today. Always gave 100%. Legend is loosely used nowadays but Rob Newman is that at City.
  11. Been to Barcelona Nou Camp for Real Madrid game, visit the museum under the stand if you want to view silverware and history of the club. Impressive. As others mentioned, Budapest is good, Sparta Prague also. San Siro one of the best stadiums for me though. Great way for a weekend away with the wife if you can tie in a football match whilst she visits the tourist sites.
  12. You have just got to be patient until the transfer window. Most on here know we need some cutting edge up front. Fammy can take a run and jump (actually he rarely ran when I saw him play) as far as I am concerned. Will take a season to sort the side out but I have faith in NP and IMO he is doing a good job based on the hand he was dealt. Gonna be a frustrating season for most of us but if City can continue to improve, then that is heading in the right direction. Still some strollers in the team that will need to be moved on if we can get a bid for them.
  13. Have to disagree with some of these posts. A fit Nahki Wells played through the middle is in the starting eleven for me.
  14. Bakinson = lazy ***. He won’t be here long term.
  15. Easy winner - Tom Thumb song Sung at many away games especially. Remember being at Bolton away promotion year early doors in a big pub prematch, circa 250 City in there and absolutely booming out that song for ages. It was our way of letting Bolton know where we were. They found us!!!
  16. The important thing to remember is that NP will continuously improve this side. Back in Ashton and Johnson’s day, they had no credible plan as to how to improve the side apart from taking punts on players - after selling the family silver. A scatter gun approach. NP needs to be backed when he wants to improve the side. What I like is the level of effort, most of the team are putting in nowadays. That is the NP factor. Impressive today.
  17. We couldn’t sell out our 2K allocation at QPR also.
  18. Best game at AG for absolutely ages. Well played City.
  19. Watch him **** Ipswich up in the next few years. Complete asshole
  20. Listening to that interview makes you realise that NP is up for the challenge. Important IMO.
