  1. OTIB is entirely representative of OTIB. I think you may have the number of otib members wrong at 20,000 I think it's much less. And let's face it- unless they are an otib supporter then they could be a gas head, visiting rival, voyeur, spy or troll etc. There are no barriers to entry. Outrageous indignation on here is invariably not replicated in the wider ST fan base as calls for protests usually prove. On a match day there maybe circa 300-400 people on this site which given the amount of ST holders and BCFC members ( which is c.20,000) is pretty tiny and not entirely representative.
  2. Ok- here goes, Dave. I don't think that NP's sacking or the withholding of the full transfer funds was either petty or absurd. I think it was considered. No new Manager on the planet is going to be 100% happy with all the inherited squad- particularly if said new man has a different formation and style. Since Jan, NP was given the ability to (help) sign several players including TGH, Cornick,Mehmeti , McCrory, Roberts and Knight ( any others?) and it involved hard cash. TGH was 'bought' not as an experiment but with a get out clause. Good business. I remember NP having a pop at JL- everyone loved it but I thought he had just signed his own P45. Leaving nest egg funds for a new man for next season was sensible and considered. Dismissing Nige was also sensible and considered imo. I went through the following reactions : Shock, confusion, mild annoyance, acceptance and then delight. Your own reaction has been one of general outrage and I understand that as you have been an utter NP stalwart throughout his tenure- you thought he was the answer to a long standing problem and I didn't. So we look at our club through very different lenses: I totally believe that NP should have gone and that the Lansdown family are great for BCFC .... and you don't. Most people on OTIB agree with you but perhaps the wider fan base don't. I still don't understand how NP has become a cult on here and generally meh at BS3.
  3. I believe that they had decided that NP had served his purpose and done the job he was paid to do and were never going to renew his contract but I agree that there was clearly a clash. I think the health issue brought forward their decision by half a season. I thought the timing was off but in hindsight believe they made the right decision at the right time. I find Liam Manning a breath of fresh air and any nest egg support they give him is fantastic news. The views of some that this is in some way unfair on NP is, quite frankly, absurd.
  4. He wasn't crying. He had a pied wagtail in his eye.
  5. Fortunately he's flocked off now. Which reminds me- In Lidl's freezer section you can get Ostrich steaks for £3.49.
  6. You're not that convincing when faced with a post.
  7. Who cares about Coventry? A win's a win and that's not my point. What is bizarre is your overall reaction to NP being sacked and your armageddon reaction which is less bizarre than infantile.
  8. The change is that I no longer have to listen to your bleating on about Nige the Messiah. Works for me.
  9. Nige was sacked. I just think you need to get over it and support the new Coach. Perhaps even give him 1 transfer window (as opposed to six) and more than 1 home game (which we won) AND had 8 shots on target which is unusual in most matches over the past 2 1/2 years.
  10. Excellent to see a new young coach making the most of his squad and winning at home . Makes a refreshing change.
  11. The Memorial Stadium is without doubt the best experience. On 3/5/14
  12. It makes complete sense. Sort of like an Andy Llewellyn/Louis Carey type player who would likely stay with us doing a good job yet not be so good that they go elsewhere ( and before the pedants say about Coventry- it was fleeting).
  13. Can't believe no one had a big chomp on the juicy fat worm at the end of your line.
  14. Always an honour to get an International call up even if it's only for Scotland U21. The fact that he chose to stay at the HPC and train fully with the new set up has less to do with LM and everything to do with TC or his advisers making a strategic decision. IMO, it wasn't about Liam or club before country- it was a very sensible choice if he wants to get back into form within the Championship. He'll want to get back on fire for his future career whether that's with us or elsewhere. Meanwhile- Sam Bell for England? He'd have been mad to turn down that opportunity and now has two caps and an assist. Everyone's a winner in these scenarios.
  15. There's always the possibility that LM asked for the input ? The possibility that it's moral support? The possibility that it was planned by all parties? The possibility that BT isn't always "lurking in the background like an Ofsted Inspector? But, hey, let's not let an alternative possibility get in the way of a good ol' bit of Tinman bashing- the scoundrel.
  16. He didn't say "to be fair" once and I think he looks mainly like himself.
  17. Yes @Ian M- it reminds me of the "one goat" story. Meanwhile ...memories of LJ are definitely not short . Which really is kinda ironic.
  18. He certainly had a lot of disciples. I was mainly Thomas.
  19. Hopefully an artistic edit in the interests of balance. FWIW- I missed you a tiny weeney bit.
