  1. Good interview. Just a shame that JL has been allowed to doodle on the walls of the interview room.
  2. Because she’d forgotten to unzip it, Bert.

Yeah, we choose to discuss the finer aspects of the game because we can’t hear the ‘kin loud speakers.
  4. As long as nobody misplaces the fag packet upon which the plan was drawn.
  5. I think he meant “ float up and down between divisions 3 and 5.”
  6. Personally, I’m surprised that @Robbored posts on their forum.
  7. ALL of their problems are self-inflicted. Nothing to do with the Green Party, contractors, steel manufacturers, local residents, the Council Planning Department yada, yada, yada. They are the only ones to blame. Until they recognise and accept this, they’ll never take the necessary steps to remove the causes of their incompetence, enabling them to move forward with certainty. It’s called professionalism. (Personally, I’ll be delighted if they carry on in their own sweet way). Projects seldom run smoothly - there are always obstacles which will require mitigation. The old project management mantra “Perfect Planning Prevents Piss-Poor Performance” has been completely ignored by the 15ers to be replaced by “Ah, don’t worry about that mate, it’ll be fine”.
  8. All piss-taking aside, just for a brief moment, in 2023 how can ANY professional organisation, sporting or otherwise, expect to get away with the provision of NO facilities for disabled customers? It’s simply unconscionable, disgusting and completely unacceptable. They should receive the most stringent sanctions from the football and trading authorities.
  9. Apologies for the ? but it’s the first opportunity I’ve had to use it since it was added as a reaction emoji!
  10. “However, the relevant paperwork wasn't submitted to the EFL in time, with Rovers missing out by seconds on securing what would have been a ground-shaking deal for a two-time League One golden boot winner while also smashing their previous record transfer fee of £370,000 paid to QPR for Andy Tillson in 1992.” “Ground-shaking”? My arse. 32 years and counting since they bought Tillson. He’s now 57 years old so probably younger than most of their back four. They’re coming for us, remember!
  11. I think that you may be right. We knew at the time that they were a good team but, as in so many things, it’s the passage of time which makes us realise just how exceptional they were. That Arsenal game was Cheesley’s last full match as a fully fit footballer and even though I was fortunate to see Atyeo play a few times, Cheese was destined to be, imo, our best ever striker. Gow was simply our greatest ever midfielder whilst Merrick and Collier were the most cultured and effective central defensive pairing we’ve ever had. Weve had some fabulous players over the years but, as a team, this was the best. Shame that we had our best ever team almost 50 years ago! As for the best manager, I’m torn. Alan Dicks or Danny Wilson? Hmmm.
  12. Sounds like it’s their pitch that they’ve put in a bad light.
  13. Thank goodness they don’t design aeroplanes.
  14. Yeah, boycotting the tournament because of the presence of Premier League U21 teams. Of course, it matters not that they try to loan as many Premier League U21’s as possible, so as to reduce the average age of their first team to the low 30’s. They’re playing Cheltenham who haven’t yet scored a goal this season. Let’s hope that run ends tonight!
  15. They may not have applied for the extension, 15 minutes before the deadline, but then may have overrun the deadline, albeit by less than one minute. That being the case, I put it to you that @Lrrr is speaking the truth m'lud.
  16. The people standing on the steps at the front of the Dolman made me smile. H&S wouldn't allow that to happen these days!
  17. Do you mean that some of their fans have no heads? it may appear so but as we know, many of them have their heads up their arses.
  18. I think that you’ll find that Dave is top of their gate prediction league, having spent his early days running the car park at Bristol Zoo.
  19. On their Forum, they have a competition every home match to guess the crowd and the number of visiting supporters. Points are awarded for the nearest guesses in each category (I kid you not) and some saddo keeps a league table of the results. Here’s the table after Saturday (note the number of ‘gas’ or ‘blue’ in the usernames) …
  20. 7,674 (314 away) though, in fairness, they were competing with um, the aftermath of the Balloon Fiesta and parents having to take their kids to Clark’s in the Mall to get new school shoes. They really do need a bigger ground.
  21. It was an excellent performance and a great, very enjoyable away win. One thing that is irritating me - and we’ve done it a number of times in each match we’ve played thus far - is defenders playing ‘floaty’ passes. Max is the worst culprit. He’s taken to passing to his fullbacks using, what looks like backspin, and they’re in the air for so long that they’ve often been cut out by opposing attackers, leaving us at risk in bad areas of the pitch. Yesterday, Gardner-Hickman played a similar crossfield pass which was intercepted too close to our penalty area for my liking. We need collectively to be playing such passes with zip to reduce the risk and stop giving the ‘kin ball away in dangerous places. Only a small irritation but I needed to share! Otherwise I’m really pleased with our start to the season so, COYR! (PS the ref was a rarity - a total and absolute tosser. I was in er Spain, I think, watching the match and was bollocked by Mrs H for shouting so many obscenities at him whilst the windows were open.)
  22. I think you’ll find that it was actually 57 minutes ago … in Corn Street, obviously. Everyone knows that ffs.
