  1. I’m very pleased that we’ll be under the radar and able to surprise a few.
  2. Thanks for the explaination. I’m sure none of us were aware of that. I don’t think any of us are upset by the bidding approach of a couple of minor Premiership clubs - just amused. Contrary to popular belief people in our part of the world no longer have straw between our teeth (or ears) and right now we’re in the driving seat (albeit of a tractor). Whether we sell Scotty or not, either way we’ll be the winners.
  3. “The event is free and open to all fans to attend, though this will be limited to 200 people on a first-come first-served basis. You can book your place HERE.” It would be absolutely awful if, say, 200 non-supporters booked up all of the places for their launch night then not turn up. Just saying …
  4. Just think how your teachers will be feeling. Now drink your milk and get off to bed. (BTW I apostrophised “brains” for you - lose a house point.)
  5. If a £23.5m bid is rejected because it doesn’t quite equal our £25m price tag, their interest won’t dry up. They’ll find the extra £1.5m. Imo.
  6. So a long, long way from Wolverhampton - which is where we all like to be.
  7. Woodsy and I frequently enjoyed some good and very enjoyable banter on here a few years back, then he seemed to disappear for a while before his reappearance as ‘Orns. I’m simply gutted to learn of his death and I’m so, so sad for his wife and kids who will be devastated to have lost him. @Fordy62 it was obvious that you and Woodsy (as I’ll always remember him) were close, therefore it’s fitting that you should write such a warm, heartfelt tribute. Please pass on my sincere condolences to his family and friends (I almost want to be there when you tell them that they are in the thoughts of a Rudolf Hucker on OTIB). Rest peacefully Ady. CTYD. CTID.
  8. You could be describing me, Pete.
  9. I’m intrigued that the bezel contains City names such as Liverpool, New York, Auckland, Anchorage, Sydney, Moscow etc then Mexico! Has he been sold a knockoff?
  10. Chris was more than 6 years older than me so when he made his debut in the City team, I was a mere 11 years old. He immediately became my footballing hero. There was little in the way of football memorabilia in those days but I did get, from somewhere, a black & white 6x4” photo of him (colour hadn’t been invented back then) wearing his City kit, which graced my bedroom wall. My football rattle (look it up kids) had ‘Garland’ on one side and ‘Galley’ on the other and I loved watching them play upfront together. When he eventually left us for Chelsea in 1971 for £100,000 I was gutted, but not as gutted as I am tonight having learned of his death. Chris was my hero and is still my hero. Thanks for all of the great memories, Chris. Rest peacefully. To his family and friends, my sincere condolences.
  11. Let’s all help Jason settle in. After me: - Whale - Oil - Beef - Hooked Well done everyone. That’ll do nicely.
  12. Although I accept that it’ll sound too much like ‘ice cream’, I couldn’t cope with hearing ‘kin Irene!
