  1. You have to remember that they were told pre season that they would have a top 6 budget, so it's fair to assume that some people signed up for a season ticket in anticipation.
  2. Imagine it... LJ: Oi! DARYLL. This kit is still soaking. Put it on a spin cycle for 30 minutes. DC: Okay boss. Leave it with me. 30 minutes later... LJ: I don't think this is going to work out. DC: I did what you said. Come and look.
  3. Using the Tilson law of mathematics I believe we can make the following calculation. A newly started paper boy/girl (13 years) + The Gap (17) = 1 Rovers infrastructure.
  4. I would imagine an industrial sized fan and a huge pile of poo will meet.
  5. >>Certainly we have a top-six fan base, so the expectation is never going to go anywhere," he told BBC Radio Bristol<< the BBC missed out the word 'fingered' - do you see?
  6. So if Taylor is the snake because he came to us on the cheap, what would they call Bodin if he went to Mangotsfield on a free?
  7. I'd be amazed if the previous board wanted to get involved again. They were hardly popular with the fans, especially after the greatest moment in sporting history when under their stewardship they took them to the conference.
  8. It might be. But apparently you can get a Sunny loan. I saw that on the telly.
  9. Given the bank only seems to make 30 or 40 million a year, if you aren't on a salary then I can't imagine you'll be buying a new boat every year from a minority share holding.
  10. This can't be right. http://m.4-traders.com/ARAB-JORDAN-INVESTMENT-BA-9445364/company/ It suggests that Wally's Dad owns less than 5% of the shares in the bank. It must be more than that surely?
  11. Highly likely they did borrow from other sources, unless the bank they are shareholders in have an unusually high appetite for risk (they might as an investment bank however), but To borrow from a bank they have such a vested interest in might not be straight forward/ethical or permitted. No idea what the state of play is with the bank, from memory it wasn't the most profitable in the region so I have no idea what (if any) dividends they have paid. The interest they are apparently charging Rovers would account for a loan to be repaid and for a bit of wiggle room if rates increase slightly.
  12. But they have a top 6 budget! Amazed they can afford to live independently in Bristol on those wages. If I was one of the Blue Few I would be asking serious questions. Be amazed if our u23s are on less.
  13. Sadly the deal is off. Uncle Ben has died. No More Mister Rice Guy.
  14. It's worse than they imagine. The Chinese saw the state of the pitch and have decided it will be fantastic for growing rice. Uncle Ben the benevolent Gashead to the rescue!
  15. As much as it pains me, I just don't see Wally walking away. Not if he still has FIFA ambitions. I think they'll be fine.
  16. This 'ole Mem Coming to a record shop near you.
  17. Pitch n Putt - up the Mem. 'Putting the Trump in your Gas'
  18. Daryll is going to help fund the academy by way of hosting a television reality show to see which of the dogs can stay in the competition. Pup Idol
  19. Talk on gasheads.org of more unpaid bills. Fence, police and some staff who haven't apparently been paid for 3 months. Might be a load of old tosh, but few are shouting down the poster who made the comment. I'd be very surprised if the story was true and it hadn't made the press.
  20. No wonder Daryll signed a 5 year contract!
  21. In 2016 the cost of running a Cat 2 academy was 1.5million a year. http://whitehouseaddress.blogspot.co.uk/2016/05/the-difficulties-with-academies-eppp.html?m=1 Maybe Wally just likes the number 3 and by doubling their annual loss he'll sleep better. Given the fact so few players make it to the first team, for a club like Rovers they would probably be better off getting released academy players from other clubs and building an u23 side.
  22. They can't be that unhappy with the work if they are making payment. Can only assume that full payment isn't forthcoming because they don't have the money. Now, wasn't it a case some time back that UWE needed to see that Rovers had the cash to build a new stadium before work could start and the Sainsbury's money was to be held in some sort of account to demonstrate this? Any other thoughts on why UWE might have gone belly up?
