An amusing read for a Sunday afternoon:-

What do I doPossibly the best response? ...
"I would be inclined to take them to a s**t preseason game, where the standard of play and atmosphere is usually poor, and then take them to a big game down at the Mem where its likely to be rocking."
That would really fool them! "Big game down at the Mem????"

Apparently all these cycling events are really going to affect their attendances which will in turn screw up their chances of automatic promotion!

Not too sure there are many parallels between Rovers and Brentford though....
In 2020, Brentford F.C. moved to a new stadium with a capacity of 17,250
In 2020, Bristol Rovers talked (yet again) about moving to a new stadium with a capacity of (Ashton Gate Capacity + 1)

Do you think he could paint a picture of a new stand at the (very) open end? One of those pictures that deceives the eye as long as you stand in exactly the right place.
That might be the only way they can ever get a new stadium ...

I might apply, I’m quite a handy person.
On a totally unrelated note, can anyone lend me some red gloss paint? Enough to paint a whole stadium.
You will be better off with a fabric dye ... perfect for any tent!
DYLON Fabric Dyes are the easy way to add colour to your home, wardrobe & dilapidated football stadium. From all colours bright and beautiful to rich and intense shades

According to Bristol World some guy they were looking at playing for York has decided to drop a league to Scunthorpe instead.
That's because there is only one c n u t in Scunthorpe but there are dozens of them at the Mem!

One of their coaching staff held up his hand and asked “how many fingers am I holding up”, he didn’t say 6 so they had to bring him off.
Surely there must be something in the regulations about that sort of sordid behaviour?

This is what ChatGPT has suggested in less than 1 second ... it sounds pretty close to the combined efforts of the board and fans combined ....
Dear fans,
I am thrilled to announce that our football club will soon have a brand new stadium to call home! After months of planning and hard work, we have secured a prime location for our state-of-the-art facility.
This new stadium will not only provide our team with a world-class playing surface, but it will also offer an unparalleled fan experience. We have spared no expense in designing the stadium to be the ultimate destination for football lovers. From the moment you step inside, you will be greeted by cutting-edge technology and amenities that will enhance your match-day experience.
Some of the features of our new stadium include:
- Seating for over 50,000 fans, including premium seating options with luxurious amenities
- A high-tech scoreboard and sound system that will bring the game to life
- A range of food and beverage options to satisfy every taste
- State-of-the-art training and locker room facilities for our players
- Ample parking and transportation options for easy access to the stadium
We believe that this new stadium will not only elevate our team to new heights, but it will also become a landmark for our city and a source of pride for our fans. We can't wait to welcome you to our new home and share this exciting new chapter with you.
Thank you for your continued support.
Sincerely,
Wael Al Qadi

I wouldn’t mind betting that there will be a reduced capacity at the Mem (no tittering at the back) at the start of next season if they decide to break camp.
This report states that they have yet to have a structure designed, modelled, costed and agreed. Once they know definitively what they want, they’ll need to find and appoint a contractor, assuming that there’s not a veritable army of retired construction workers willing to heed the club’s call and do the work for free. If it ever sees the light of day, the club will need to run test events to satisfy health & safety regarding suitability of the new structure. Doesn’t sound like a 6 month job, given that presently it’s just a pipe dream.
I have heard they will stick to the same contractor who provided them with so much experience with their previous big top experience who can turn his hand to anything at the Horfield Circus...

I heard their scum bag manager talking to Twentyman* a couple of weeks ago where he stated they were ‘knocking on the door of promotion’. They are 18 points off sixth having played two more games, knocking on the door of promotion indeed!
I’ve heard some nonsense over the years from people trying to big up bang average teams by saying how close they are to the playoffs, but this must take the biscuit.
*As an aside, has anybody noticed Twentyman’s absolute refusal to call him Joey? Just always makes me chuckle while everyone else is, but Twentyman will only ever call him Joe.
Absolutely no doubt at all!
