  1. Asschat just gets better and better.....

I for one will not go anywhere near the Mem if Cotterill is appointed ! no big deal I know but if a few thousand felt the same way it might be

If a few thousand felt the same way as this Belter, they’d have none of the idiots there at all! Whatever happened to the ‘We’d watch from the pavement?’

  2. Cotterill would be a disasterous choice and I think it disgraceful that he has been sitting in the directors box with the idiot Hamer whilst DC was trying to manage the club. For me Paul Hurst is the obvious choice should we be able to get him

How dare a man go and watch a football match with his mate whilst the team he’s watching currently had a manager already!

They haven’t got a brain cell between them that lot.

    Open letter/ petition on Change.Org

    https://www.change.org/p/wael-al-qadi-open-letter-to-the-board-of-bristol-rovers-football-club?recruiter=66015793&utm_source=share_petition&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=share_email_responsive

We the fans of Bristol Rovers Football club are writing this letter to you; the board to try and mend our broken relationship.

It is now nearly 12 months since we were told that the club was about to submit a planning application for our training ground to South Gloucestershire council and it is not acceptable that the fans only discovered that plans had been shelved due to cost nearly a year later in a damage limitation interview by Steve Hamer in the wake of the Barnet defeat nearly a year later. We now have a plot of land in Almondsbury sitting doing nothing and our (now ex) manager saying he doesn't believe it will be built during his tenure. It's inconceivable that the owners appear to believe this doesn't warrant some kind of official statement underlining what they intend to do going forward to finally provide this club with fit-for-purpose training facilities.

The same is true for the stadium. Since the club pulled out of the UWE Stadium project, many feel that no adequate reason has ever been provided and are left bewildered that any deal could possibly be worse than an indefinite stay at the crumbling Memorial Stadium, with yet another tent thrown up haphazardly to improve spectator experience. We know many parents who are hesitant to bring their young children to the Mem because of the derelict conditions at our ground which puts us in serious danger of losing a generation of fans as the rest of the football world modernises around us. It is not unreasonable to expect updates on the owner's stated goal of redeveloping the Mem, unless of course the new tent is the extent of these plans.

Finally, whilst we understand that the owners can not be expected to come and and quash any and all rumours around the club, the strong and consistent rumours that the club is up for sale and there will be no more investment in the club until any takeover is completed are troubling and paired with the lack of progress in infrastructure or any meaningful communication from the board create a self-perpetuating atmosphere of unease around the club that we believe is beginning to have an effect on the pitch.

We are not writing to you to demand that you immediately progress on the training ground and stadium. The reasons there has not been progress may be complex and varied. What we are demanding is communication from the club on a regular basis on what is being worked on, what direction any future plans are going in and any delays that have come up.

We see this taking one or more of the following forms:

    - A monthly fans forum where fans can ask questions directly to the board
    - A monthly written statement from the board on the work it is doing
    - Regular interviews on club channels on the work the board is doing
    - Immediately putting out a statement if there is bad news to announce

We believe the above would stop the current cycle of radio silence and then bad news slipping out in BBC Radio interviews. This would also go some way to stopping wild rumours circling around the club and building trust between the board and the fans.

Bristol Rovers fans are used to having our backs against the wall and no one expects overnight success or massive unsustainable investment but we do demand is to be kept informed and whenever possible involved in the direction of a club many of us have supported for 50, 60 even 70 years of our lives. Let's work together to ensure there is a competitive, modern and sustainable Bristol Rovers football club for our children and grandchildren.

    Yours sincerely

    Gasheads everywhere

A step up for bombarding a Jordanian bank on Twitter I suppose.

When you have a shit fanbase such as theirs I suppose a demo/march would look shite with so little attending, they’d just assume it’s the que for the piss flavoured Fanta.

Me neither and I really hope he doesn`t. it would have one benefit though given the amount on s*gchat that say they`re done with the club if he does get the gig.

Don`t do it though Cotts - it isn`t worth destroying your reputation for a quick payday which probably won`t turn out to be anything like you got promised at your interview.

A fair bit going on Michael Flynn from Newport now (I think he`s the bookies` favourite now) but that`s probably just the fewers lumping on him once they heard the rumour he`d been approached.

For obvious reasons and I’m a tad bias, but with the amount of comedy moments and embarrassing things that they continue to produce for a so called ‘professional football club’ on a near on weekly basis that only us locals hear about, no one would dare even apply to manage that shower of shite if half the things they do went national, and yet the loyal and true (all 6/7k of them) seem to think they deserve so much better? The same loyal supporters who’d never go to watch them again if they did appoint Cotts ??  I get that he’s ex City etc but they all seem to have taken his RagAss Rovers comment to heart, where @Peter O Hanraha-hanrahan states that it’s clearly nothing to do with them at all, he’d be the best manager they’ve had for a long time if he did get it, just a shame the squad is dogshit and going down.

That was Doncaster who was shouting racist abuse. Not Bristol Rovers.

Sorry bur please check your stories before spouting allegations like this.

Think you’ll find Donny fans were spitting at a ball boy.

Bit rude. We Horfield residents are generally rather cultured I'll have you know. Whilst we do have to put up with a handful of ill-mannered scruffs dressed by George at Asda wandering our neighbourhood every couple of weeks or so, most of us simply stay indoors until the frightful oiks have returned to their caravans. Either that or we go and watch City away.

I do have one neighbour who goes to Rovers games occasionally, but he's an exiled Palace fan from South London who finds it, frankly, all a bit shite to be honest, but can't be arsed to travel further afield to watch a game.

Is he into Boob cricket by any chance?

This will likely be as successful as when they threatened to load up their trolleys in Sainsbury's and then abandon them in the aisles in a 'mass' display of Gas disobedience. It was all hot air.

All whilst they seem to think they ‘deserve’ a new stadium, training ground, and a rich owner to fund their superb fanbase.

Sums them up to a tee, the fake sheikh is having them over before their eyes, even confirmed by the Clarke himself, and to vent their anger they are going to Tweet a Jordanian Bank

  8. Banners? Fan demo’s/protests? Na we’ll bombard them on twitter!!

Perhaps we should all use social media to reference honesty, integrity, trust etc through outlets like:

    www.ajib.com/en

    mobile.twitter.com/AJIB_Bank

    www.arabadvisors.com/hani-al-qadi

If they won't talk to us then maybe we should, indirectly at least, talk to them.

Hopefully they would then do the honourable thing and sell to someone more embedded in what BRFC is all about.

    ???

  9. They still clearly need educating on what a Franchise is, there’s only one club in this City that’s pissed off elsewhere and it isn’t us.

Look at city. They got big headed and thought they could push through a new stadium, via a billionaire owner. Once they finally realised they could not / should not, they found their senses and redeveloped their ground in 3 years with zero fuss. Also established a successful franchise to hoover up and support nearly all other sports teams in Bristol. Now planning conference / arena. It's bloody simple when you have money and spend it properly.

  10. Utter ******* ! We were all well and truly taken in by these ***** , I’m just so angry and saddened that I along with many other long suffering gasheads thought that we were going to finally get the club we all deserved ! Like usual we’ve been shafted. It’s time to face the facts that we will always be a ******* joke to the rest of the football league, the only decent thing we have is us fans, we deserve so much better.

Never use drugs kids, this is what happens.

Sorry I'm out of touch but - who's Neil?

All the tuareg seem to be banging on about tonight is:

"We played our best for Neil..... We couldn't have given any more for Neil......"

It’s rovers goal tally every week.
