  1. Manning basically just confirmed it was happening in the latest press conference but not fully completed so didn't want to comment further.
  2. Haven't we also been told if we can bring forward deals that we'd look at in the summer we would. Wouldn't a loan to buy for Twine fit that exactly. BTW I didn't buy the prior 'pot is empty' statements previously. However, this deal is exactly as described recently for the business we'd do.
  3. My tongue in cheek response to your arrogance you mean.. Basically "I know better than most fans so that's why I make everything negative to make a stand against the ownership"
  4. Take a look at all my posts to see where I've defended JL. That old chestnut.. if that poster isn't negative every post they must be working with BS or idolise the Lansdowns.
  5. What a hero! Just repeating the same thing over and over.
  6. Trust me you don't just question. You seem to always spin the subject negatively.
  7. How are people getting upset at spending 2.5 million on a player that had 20 goals/13 assists in League One was 4 mill a year ago and getting a move to the Prem. Has put up good stats in the Championship so far. I know with the benefit of hindsight we could of bought him cheaper but that applies to us and 40 other teams thar also missed the trick for a freebie. He's filling an obvious void of creativity that we've missed. Seems like good business if it comes off.
  8. So it was 2.5 as Nixon originally reported at the end of December.
  9. It's just everything topic turns to that.. Can't we just have two topics ie. Poor Nige - Discuss We hate JL & BT - Discuss Instead of them being discussed in every topic. There is more talk about them than actually what sort of player Twine is and how he'd compliment or not the team.
  10. It doesn't have to be the elephant in every room surely. It's like a broken record.
  11. Is there a topic in football chat where NP, JL or BT are not mentioned. Seems every topic turns to discussion about them three.
  12. Is there much point in arguing about a fee on a potential transfer from hearsay at the moment. When first reported by Nixon he said 2.5, Piercy said Burnley want 5. If there is any truth in this I reckon it'll land somewhere between the two. Whether it happens and that's value for money only time will tell.
  13. Firstly thanks Andi, been a great servant for the club and all the best. If this is true. We've played a blinder. Avoiding an appearance clause for a new contract, moving a player on (likely on higher wages even after the extension) early that would have been released in the summer. I'm not having a dig because he's been brilliant but imo he's on the decline so to get a small fee and reduce the option fee for TGH is perfect.
  14. Exactly, no need for ego in the business. All this should/could/would of talk. Every club misses talent right under their noses. That being said he's not worth 5 million. Half of that maybe.
  15. You're forgetting we've just got over our non parachute push back in 19/20 when we spent millions on Kalas, Massengo, Wells, Palmer, Dasilva, Bentley, Nagy ect. When Hull we're taken over they were in a very healthy position to go for it. If they don't go up they will have to watch their spending sometime like we did. I think we should be spending more by the way to compete but I'm not sure that represents us loaning a very expensive signing like this.
  16. Surely thats an expensive loan nonetheless. Not sure I'd want us spending that money on a loan signing rather get a permanent. I guess its worth it if they go up but a risky one.
  17. I like the perspective given on how young our team is. We had 5 players 22 and under in the team yesterday and they are regulars in the league. All with decent experience already. Even the other players are a few years from touching 30. 5 of these players are home grown from our academy. I think alot of this is missed with the over negativity after a loss or the hysteria after a win. If I was a fan from another team looking in I'd think we are doing something right.
  18. I reckon these lads in yellow might do bits in the National League this season!
  19. It's exactly that scenario. It's clearly in-house competition. That's not dissimilar to any content our club or any club for that matter puts out. That's a very weird thing to criticise. There's plenty of legitimate things to be critical about but this isn't it sorry.
  20. Was it? Show me where? It was on here people made up their minds it was Tinnion.
  21. Is it really that black and white? This is what I don't get though. I asked for examples of what specifically Tinnion had done previously in this topic that could be proved and every answer was conjecture of sorts. However with that he's been called all sorts of names on here. I don't know and can't say definitively one way or the other so I just don't think it's right to completely condemn somebody for hearsay at best. Even if he was part of it personal comments are low in my eyes. You can disagree with someone and that can get heated but it's embarrassing when our fans act like that. It's funny Richard Gould is treated like our Lord and saviour on here but jumped at the next best thing straight away. Yet Tinnion has committed most of his life to us and showed utmost loyalty and is treated like shit. I know people will say he's in his job for the wrong reasons and he's not qualified to be in that position. I think he deserves a chance and some respect atleast.
  22. Completely agree. It's pretty pathetic to be honest.
  23. One massive difference. They play in the PL.
  24. This comes up all the time. You can't hold players for ever. Scott and Semenyo went from earning 5k a week to 50k a week and playing in the best league in the world. We can't compete with that. Same with us and Oxfords players. It's a part of the game. The recruitment thereafter is what needs to be done correctly.
  25. Where does it say in that quote from Tony Vance that he called Steve before calling Tins? You've added that bit in going on about he's the one who initially set up the relationship with Guernsey FC. That's why I asked if you know more detail explain. It's fine if you don't want to attribute anything to Tins for that deal. I feel differently as that's what Tony Vance has quoted himself.
