Again you say we're throwing money at it by loaning Twine without any evidence that this is the case We've loaned out Weimann covering you'd imagine is a good amount of Twine's wage so we've swapped one we wouldn't have used much due to his clause for an extra year and got in one that Manning will use.
I agree there are plenty of things to criticise JL for but this isn't one of those things. Would I, the club and most fans preferred a permanent or loan to buy for Twine.. Of course. If Burnley wouldn't budge on their 5 mil valuation which most fans agreed was too much then we've done the right thing.
I think Twine had already set his mind on moving to us in some capacity. Playing in his preferred position, moving closer to home and working with a manager who got the best out of him. Burnley probably thought the same about him playing in his correct position and potentially getting better output. If he does that he'll either cost more to us or someone else or return back to them full of confidence.
We've avoided Weimanns trigger for a contract extension, he gets to move closer to home 6 months earlier with a chance to garner a new contract which he wasn't getting here or playing time. We save the wages and get a favourable deal with TGH's transfer.
All in all I don't think it's bad business at all. Could of been perfect with a permanent signing of Twine at our valuation but it's good were sticking to our guns.

Not really FFP but funding and cash flow issues could be on the horizon for Blackburn.
They have a few good players we could pinch if they run into problems. I think we've got to be more ruthless like Luton with Reading.. I wouldn't mind looking at Femi Azeez from Reading.

To think he was only 275k. Very stable player.

No idea, depends on 7/8 different parameters, inc things like wage amount in our contract offering, other club’s offering, etc.
Danny Ings was £6m to Liverpool with add-ons. If he’s scoring lots it wouldn’t be a pittance.
If he keeps scoring atleast we have some precedent examples we can use to bat away low ball offers from clubs in the summer.

Arsenal fan I believe, hence his “bants” with Alex a Spurs fan.
I’m sure he’s a City fan too
Dave any idea if he went under compensation at the end of his contract. How much that fee would be? Just looking at worst case scenario.

Really really odd decision to drop Knight
He's played nearly every minute of every game this season and at full pace. Makes perfect sense to rest him for the league.

We are not allowed to talk about the running of the club on here.
We must all nod along in agreement with every decision JL and BT make and must thank SL for giving us a fantastic stadium to play in.
There is of course satire in this post.
You literally just say the same thing.
However, you missed the bit where you usually say. They get personal blah blah..

Ive not been through every post in this thread. My question to you was based on your comment below
That reads to me that you'd prefer not to have him here, hence why i asked.
If Nige and Richard Gould brought him in he'd be happy as Larry.
Because they didn't he's been playing his smallest violin.

JL. Apologies for posting it the wrong way round, although it was obvious the context I was talking in so it's bizarre that you've said it's bizarre when it was obviously a very small tiny mistake.
I've made plenty of posts after our wins. You should go and check my extremely positive posts following the West Ham game. Oh no sorry, they don't fit your narrative so let's pretend I've never posted them.
Name me some positives there has been since the summer?
I don't care enough.

It means if people dare criticise any of LJs or BTs decisions, their merry men will come along and try to defend them by attempting to rubbish people's valid opinions. You know what you're doing.
Why are people not allowed to post negative posts? This isn't North Korea mate. If me or anyone else wants to post a negitive opinion or a repeated opinion then so what. Were not telling you what you can and cant post but thats exactlt what you are doing. This is a forum mate.
Everything about the club at the moment is negative so very very hard to find any positives. We have an owner who has gone awol and who can't sell up because no one will pay his asking price. He has his son running through club when his son has zero experience in doing so, Brian Tinnion is being primed to be CEO, oh and we've gone 3 games without a win. Tell me where the positives are in that mate?
You'll actually find that over the summer I posted loads of positive posts. Posted positive posts today about Twine. If there's something positive to post about, I'll post about it.
Oh here we go again with the personal bs. No need for it mate.
Who are these merry men defending LJ? What's he got to do with anything? Sounds all abit bizarre that.
North Korea.. pfft I don't even know what to say.
Yes, we may have lost three on the spin. However, when we won a few on spin you hardly say anything. There's plenty of games left.. plenty to play for.
Where was I personal.. Because I said your always negative? Come off it. You've basically said so yourself. I In your words I've got to look back to the summer for some positive perspective from you.

Think Murphy might rear his head down the line but not yet. The remainder of this season I'd imagine we'll see Williams as he's been good recently. With Twine I'm hoping he brings that spark we need.

Careful posting your opinions mate.
You'll get loads of them jumping on you because you're not toeing the party line and when you present them with facts, they'll get personal with you.
What does that even mean?
These are independent thinking fans who have their own opinions. Usually the majority show some sort of balance to their views.
You repeat the same opinion. Usually negative. I challenge anyone to look through your posts to find anything slightly positive.
When challenged, you revert to the same old. Stop getting personal, I'm going to mute you then accuse others of silencing you. It's ironic to say the least.

Seems odd, from a business sense. Our season is as good as done, so seems money unnecessarily spent.
I wanted an option but give your head a wobble.
We are 4 points away from the playoffs. It's unlikely but more possible with a new addition.

Great bit of business. I can see him getting better and better and he's done well so far.
You can tell he's bought right into the club already.

This seems to have gone very quiet. With all of the excitement over our potential new signing everyone seems to have forgotten our Andi.
Manning basically just confirmed it was happening in the latest press conference but not fully completed so didn't want to comment further.

Because…
- We’ve just come through a period where we had to jettison a lot of high earners because we spent like a sailor on shore leave
- We’ve been told (and we all know it was false) that there was no money
- The more we spend on Twine the less money there is elsewhere
- The kind of point of a forum is discussing things like this
Other than that, go nuts. You’re totally right.
Haven't we also been told if we can bring forward deals that we'd look at in the summer we would. Wouldn't a loan to buy for Twine fit that exactly.
BTW I didn't buy the prior 'pot is empty' statements previously. However, this deal is exactly as described recently for the business we'd do.

Scott Twine - Loan Confirmed - No option to buy

Twine could be on less than Weimann. Meaning we save a proportion of his wage to cover a part of any fee applicable.
The part about TGH is irrelevant about our commitment to paying him over 3 years unless you didn't want us to sign TGH? You can't be seriously questioning the Weimann to West Brom and us getting TGH slightly cheaper deal.
Think your grasping at straws here.
