Some nice quotes from sags on the post website re the news about signing Timmy (til the end of the season):
Nathan Clothier: This club is being run properly, let them get on with it and back them!
Harry Blannin: If he's as good as his brother then he'll be a very decent signing.

given the comments their fans are apparently making in the survey, not sure our answers would stand out much.
Maybe we should be saying how perfect everything is, no improvements to the facilities necessary!

Do you have to be a registered fewer to take part in the survey?
Might be a laugh.

The key difference is that City fans do that and your fans don't.
This oddly is taken as a badge of pride by Rovers' fans who see themselves as super loyal compared to the fickle teds.
Sometimes you need a change of ownership. I'm very happy with the City board but I don't see why the Rovers' fans are so passive when their board is running up debts of £3m a year against the ground.
City is making much bigger losses (£25m operating losses, this year offset by £36m profits on player sales) but these are being regularly converted to equity (= written off when you already own 95% of the club) and all small shareholders were offered their full money back last month with many of them, including me, taking that. You wouldn't get anything like that offer for your supporters club shares.
Rovers' fans are like frogs being slowly boiled; when the club loses its ground and starts "temporarily" renting at Twerton or The Lawn will there be "sack the board" protests even then?
What will it take? Playing in the Downs League and operating out of a garden shed; keeping yourselves warm on a winter's day by hugging tight around you your supreme loyalty compared to them gurt fickle teds playing in the Premiership in their state of the art stadium.
The way their 'crowds' are dwindling, there won't be any fans left to protest by the time they would get round to it.

Wait for those blue ws to start moaning! It's not fair, other teams played them when they were shite etc etc.
Suck it up Sags, you're a one man band. If JCH doesn't play you are more or less impotent up front.
FTG...
Too late, they had a thread that started with that (was subsequently pointed out that the game was postponed due to international call ups for their opponents not them!):
Bolton taking the piss

Not only do we now probably have to play Bolton with a full first team instead of the teenagers that some league 1 clubs have scored 5 or more against but now they have the damm cheek to call off games due to international call ups talk about taking the piss they should be in the same place as bury dead and buried -

Despite a series of bold claims when they bought the ailing Serie B club, SCG's ownership of the Sicilian side lasted just over two months as it was soon sold to two Italian businessmen.
Since then Richardson has left the board of SCG, who are no longer involved in football, and is understood to be involved in consultancy work for a variety of sports and technology marketing firms.
He added: "We felt that Palermo was a very good fit, because being on an island it had a good captive audience in terms of its potential fanbase, but also its potential pool of talent that it can develop over the years."Couple that with the fact that there were plans to build a new stadium and youth and training facilities, we felt that it was a club that really needed investment but had good potential for the future.
few of the bits that stood out to me. Ownership lasted 2 months - sounds like the sort of ownership that would be suitable for that comedy club.
Not sure the gas quite have the same captive audience, I think there may be a much bigger/better team nearby!
Plans for a new stadium though....?!

5/1 on a red card today. or better still, 8/1 for a Rotherham player to be sent off.

I checked the odds of a red card before their previous game - skybet had 5/1.
(I did double check - it was 5/1 not 1/5!)

Well I must say that I wasn't expecting this. Maybe @bert tann can shed some light.
This is a necessary step so that the owners can put in more equity without having to go down the full rights issue route; Steve Lansdown regularly does this as it allows money to go in that isn't caught by FFP rules.
It is also money that you can't just hoik out by selling the ground, unlike the Dwane Sports loan.
I don't know if I really should be posting positive news for the fewers on this thread but that's certainly what it is; I suppose it provides a bit of balance to the thread.
(I was actually lookng to see if their Filton company had been struck off yet as that was due to happen today).
This is the 1883 company - the one in which people own the shares; equivalent to our BCFC Holdings.
01 Jul 2019 Resolutions - Resolution of removal of pre-emption rights
- Resolution of allotment of securities
This document is being processed and will be available in 5 days.Have I missed the subsequent discussion since the documents became available - right to allot shares with a nominal value of £10,000 . They must have plans to build a new stadium!
Last time (2017) it was for £500,000.
EDIT - yes, now seen that I did miss the posts!

Some genius ideas:
QuoteAnother idea discussed revolved around the food options available on a matchday. Supporters raised points around the Improving timing of the catering options to make sure there's availability of stock at the busy periods (i.e before kick-off and at half-time)
I wonder where they got this idea from:
QuoteAn interesting topic raised was the idea of having a fan mixing area, where both home and away supporters could visit both before and after matches. Over the course of the summer, plans are developing to create a bigger and better fanzone area with live music, bars and food concessions along with more activities for kids.
Please, we want to be just like that lot down the road:
QuoteNon-match day events were also raised as a topic, with the fans on the evening suggesting that not a lot is widely known about the uses of the Memorial Stadium on non-matchdays.
That's 'cos it isn't used on non-match days other than the occasional car boot. You aint getting the likes of Muse any time soon pikeys!

Re the size of goals - There was a debate some years back (not sure where) suggesting that average heights have increased by around 10cm since football was first played competitively. Therefore, mens’ goals should be increased in size by a similar percentage relative to new average heights. It was claimed that’s why there were so many high scoring games in years gone by compared to now
So by that token, perhaps the size of goal is about right for the women’s game and it’s the men who have the wrong size instead?
Yep - could argue for a bigger goal for men, or just accept the same size goal for both as clubs having to have sets of different sized goals for male and female teams is just too awkward and expensive especially for schools, youth teams etc.

Commentators mentioned twice in that time what a huge club they are, that their fans travel in massive numbers...
of course, they were talking about Sunderland!

Rovers playing against 10 men again, surprise
not sure what happened there
a player on a yellow gets subbed on 52 mins
The sub gets subbed 26 minutes later (presumably injured)
the substitute substitute gets send off after just 7 minutes
the efforts some teams go to to make sure they have someone for sending off when they play the gas...

Blimey, Bury did the league double over them by the end of August.
I know that's not what I'm meant to be focussing on here, but that must be fairly unusual?
