  1. You can see it now................all English teams ordered to play home games in Azerbaijan because the French and German Governments (that's Governments not Football Associations) won't allow their clubs to come here.
  2. What I'm saying (probably badly) is if the likes Grenada, Spezia and West Ham (bigger but not big enough for UEFA's liking) finish fifth their co-efficient will not let them in and neither do UEFA want them in their little plaything. Leicester City would probably be a better example - actually competitive on a consistent basis but not the type of team UEFA would want in their "final 36".............. The article I read seemed to imply that Ajax are the type of club that might miss out. If anyone could explain that to me..........................
  3. ........................or lets have a 36 team "Champions League" (don't use the word Super whatever you do otherwise all the smaller clubs will get wind of what's happening and try and block it) using made up co-efficients so that we can effectively block teams like Ajax who have genuinely won their league and fill it with fifth and sixth placed but bigger stature Spanish/Italian/French/English clubs............if West Ham/Grenada/Spezia finish fifth give them a co-efficient of zero and let 13th placed Tottenham Hotspur/ Sevilla/Udinese in instead. Anybody who watches that crap really needs their head examining imo.
  4. In awe of: Their subscription to Babestation A ground with more tents than Billy Smart's Circus Getting relegated to Non League Not only that but getting relegated to Non League by a side playing in your own away strip Appointing a Manager who could well be leaving them in a few months at Her Majesty's Pleasure Being able to purchase fake drinks and out of date food in the concourse An anthem that glorifies a "relationship" with an underage girl Losing the Manager who had them in their highest league placing for years to Mansfield Watching football with around 6,000 fans in the ground A team who play in a Tesco Carrier Bag strip I could go on but it will infuriate you even more.............. Bollocks to it, a club who have been promised a ground since 1965, the latest only weeks away from completion I believe........ A record signing of around £365K now known in the Oxford Dictionary as a "Tilson" (probably) Wetting myself over a billionaire owner and then finding out it's actually a billionaire "family"....................Unlucky Da Shit Yep, they're ******* brilliant and I'm jealous as ****. When reading the above just consider for one second that not everyone takes life seriously 24/7 (to the benefit of their mental health in modern speak) and likes to have a bit of fun which, for many football supporters, includes a wind-up or two at their rivals expense from time to time. It's not hurting anyone, it's not one-sided and it occurs in every area of the country where you have football clubs in very close proximity. For Tarquin the University Student that has decided to support City or Rovers just to have a football club to support whilst they are in Bristol they probably don't see a rivalry. For those of us growing up in places like Bedminster, Ashton, Bemmy Down, Hartcliffe, Withywood, Shirehampton, Lawrence Weston, Southmead, Lockleaze, Knowle West, Horfield, Bishopston, Easton, Fishponds, Kingswood and many other areas in Bristol and the surrounding areas there most definitely is and always has been a rivalry. If it's not for you just ignore the thread rather than trying to force your views on people, saying we have "no right" to enjoy a bit of rivalry and acting like you have some sort of superior intelligence and/or moral fibre. It's not doing you any favours tbh.
  5. A bloody expensive fantasy too.........if they go down what will season ticket sales be next season? 3-4K? Doesn't cover the wage bill. and who will buy them for the money he would want for them? That said, he might be happy to take a loss and get the hell out of there if it does go wrong for them in the next few weeks.
  6. Even better, imagine if OTIB then had an "ignore topic" function on top of your suggestion...........the Mods need to get a grip of this site!!
  7. Most people come on this topic when there is little going on at "our end" in the main, usually for a bit of fun. So in an international break when little is coming out of the club (understandably) and the Few slip into the relegation zone you are going to have a higher volume of traffic than normal which is precisely what has happened. The only thing that has prevented this club moving forwards is poor decision making at Board and Owner level and certainly not any "Banter" we have with the Few. It's an argument that does not stand up to any scrutiny as it has no impact whatsoever on the way our club is run. I would suggest that if roles were reversed we would get it coming our way a lot worse than we dish out tbh..........far worse.
  8. This is the latest rope that the Few are hanging onto now. Fair play to Barton, whether you love or loathe his personality, he's not as stupid as some people think and knows exactly what he's dealing with up there both in terms of Board and particularly the fans. He's got them on strings and persuaded many of them that if the drop happens (which they seem to have broadly accepted) there's no problem and this "big reset" is going to be the beginning of domestic football domination by Horfield FC. Making statements like "we will get this done" is all you have to do up there because their fanbase simply don't have the bollocks to look at things realistically and question whether what is being promised is actually deliverable. All you have to do is make the promise and if you get found out 12 months down the line so be it. Of course, if he gets sent down in the summer then they really do have a problem.
  9. Our home form is diabolical, our away form clearly isn't diabolical under Pearson whereas the Few are just diabolical full stop. Those six teams at the bottom of League 1 would struggle to reach 10 points if you put them in the Championship and that's not an exaggeration (I accept we are talking different budgets entirely for most of those sides but the Fewers wage budget seems to at least be on a par with Wycombe and not hugely below Rotherham). It's good, old fashioned rivalry and they aren't shy in dishing it out and when you add the complete delusion, lies and hypocrisy (a.k.a. #gaslogic) that gets spouted over there they deserve everything they get from us!!
  10. The gentrification of football.........
  11. Going as far to say they would be passing us too.
  12. It's actually surprising how bad the Few really are right now for all the banter we dish out. When I saw Northampton earlier in the season, albeit not full strength but neither were we, I was wondering how a professional team at League 1 level could be so bad and that surely there must be part time lads knocking around National League better than some of their players but not wanting to give up their full time jobs or something. There are six absolutely terrible sides at the bottom of League 1 who are ALL at that standard. You have to question how a minority of that Gas squad (save the banter for now) have actually "made it" as professional footballers full stop. That will no doubt correct itself in the next few seasons. We criticise our own players on here at times but blimey, they are on another level of incompetence up there. That "massive" Northampton game they are all speaking of over at Chernobyl could be a dead rubber (for the Few anyway) if they don't pull their finger out...................
  13. If I was their Captain tonight I would hand my notice in.....
  14. 6 defeats in 9 for The Messiah.........
  15. Was a good strike tbf. Judging by the comments on here well out of keeping with the rest of the game. Shame.
  16. They're right imo....it is a hostile environment to environment to any "normal" human being.........just think of the things that could kill you out there Fake Fanta Out of Date Pasties Tug yourself to death over Babestation Crushed to death in the middle of the Car Park hordes The list is endless......
  17. All based on Greater Bristol's population and ignoring the fact that loads of locals are anti-football types who moan about football/football hooliganism (but are quite happy to see statues they don't like ripped up and thrown in the docks), a sizeable amount aren't sporty or follow other sports like Rugby and whilst not anti-football are not interested in it enough to pay and watch it, a large number of people aren't Bristolian, love football but support other clubs and have no interest in following ours, an equally sizeable amount are Bristolian glory hunters that "support" Liverpool, Man Utd, Whoever is in Fashion FC leaving a relatively small pool who would follow us or them - potentially 80K absolute tops I would guesstimate but probably much less. Of that lot we clearly have a majority in terms of people who prefer us and certainly a lot more who have any intention of actually getting off their arses and paying money to go to games, whatever the division, and that leaves an even smaller pool of "floaters" who might watch them if they achieved something although many of those are equally as likely to watch us in those circumstances leaving a tiny pool who could be persuaded to watch Rovers but not us because they don't like us for whatever reason. So where is the 200% uplift in attendances coming from? Recent history tells us they get 9-10K when top 6 in League 1, 5-7K when they aren't (we were getting just under 11K when O'Driscoll had us bottom of League 1) so I could see them getting 12-13K if they were mid-table in our league and not playing in a tented cesspit (ignoring away teams who bring 5K with them) but where are the rest coming from?
  18. Blimey, they don't like new decades up there!!
  19. Something one or two of them are worried about: 2000/01 - Relegated 2010/11 - Relegated 2020/21 - ????
  20. I want to know who the "Ted" that calls themselves "Gaschat" and has infiltrated their forum pointing out the truth about their attendances (such as haven't averaged 10K for 40 years, yes that's FORTY) and outlines what the likelihood of them getting 18-20K crowds at Championship level is!! He/She sneakily uses terms like "us" and "we" to fool the moderators who, based on their understanding of offside, clearly are fools. Funnily enough, no replies to that post................... Another "traitor", but clearly a Tesco Bagger this time, uses Wembley attendances to post about the hordes the Boob Cricketers would attract if they got promoted and states that in a crowd of 47K for their Conference play-off final at least "30K" must have been Glass Butters, a bit of a nosedive from previous #gaslogic estimates there, the estimates that proved beyond all doubt (if you are a Horse Puncher) that they matched our 42K for the Walsall final and ignoring clear photographic evidence showing they had nothing like it. Joey Barton is understood to be taking legal action having been sold a pup and signed a Contract in circumstances that Nick Higgs assured him were watertight.
  21. Maybe the defender thought he was”safe” heading it back with the guy so far “offside”. That’s why Joey Barton doesn’t want them reading their forums?
