  1. In the same manner that if Danny Simpson laid a hand on his wife again and got convicted at court whilst employed by us he would also get sacked. Seems to be hard for a few to get their head round for some reason.
  2. Getting rid of a present club employee convicted of an offence carried out whilst in the employment of the club would not be the same as hiring one who was convicted 5-6 years ago and with no apparent repeat of those offences since is it? If you don’t believe in second chances that’s fine but to put a narrative out there that they will do the right thing and we haven’t is bizarre quite honestly.
  3. Amazing. The CPS have to apply a threshold test in order to get any case to court (doesn’t guarantee guilt clearly) but “Sister Fiddler Gas” clearly knows it’s a stitch up………..even though he clearly doesn’t realise the CPS not the Police make the decision on charging. #Gaslogic at its finest.
  4. The only thing he forgot to mention is the CPS doesn’t try and prosecute a flick behind the ear…. Barton is clearly innocent until proven guilty, the only thing I would say is if the victim isn’t cooperating with the Police then the CPS must feel they have very strong evidence to prosecute. Either that or some dick in the CPS wants a “name” on their CV!!
  5. Might not be able to live with his wife and kids though given the offence.
  6. Correct, the main difference being Danny Simpson is on his 2nd chance, Barton on circa his 6th? But yes I agree there is no point in being pious about it. Too much of that shit on here.
  7. Similar but not the same. DS is on his second chance in life (I realise there are many on here who don’t believe in second chances and rehabilitation at all) and it would APPEAR that he is at least making the right noises and efforts to ensure he doesn’t have to appear before a judge again. Barton seems to be one of those people in life that requires periodic police intervention culminating in appearances in court that compared to a “normal” person can only be described as regular. Based on what we know the guy is just a nasty piece of work. It’s not about taking moral high ground. The bloke is charged and should be suspended, sacked without pay if found guilty. Alternatively Rovers could sack him with compensation NOW if they feel reputational damage is too great but I would doubt that will happen.
  8. You can tell from the language he uses that Barton has had all the CBT and Counselling going and ultimately it doesn’t seem to make any difference once the fuse is lit in his head. DV isn’t often charged without the victim’s assistance so, similar to the Danny Simpson case a number of years back, there must be evidence that the CPS believe to be compelling. The Few surely have to suspend him?
  9. I'm sure when Pearson has worked out which of his youngsters are unlikely to get the minutes they need there will be strong possibility of that happening. In my view someone like Sam Bell would benefit hugely from a spell in League 2 and would do a good job too.
  10. Will be interesting when Garner gets to meet a Crown Court bothering, bullshitting, bin-dipping, cheeky-chappie scally as part of his new job next season..............wonder whether he will ask for advice to avoid a scenario where someone follows on from him and accuses him of negligence? Relatively cheap in the short term for a club in Swindon's position too.
  11. I'm not sure what will happen but I do think it would be inevitable that if a booster jab was needed every 6 months there would be a significant reduction in uptake over time from people who are not in the vulnerable categories. That will no doubt lead to increases in hospitalisations and deaths again and depending on speed of transmission you could potentially be back in a restrictive situation (i.e lockdown).
  12. The assumption I am making, it could be wrong, is that the "unjabbed" will effectively be penalised (people can call it what they like) for a period of time, not permanently, which will be such time as the Government deem that they have the virus under some sort of "control" (you certainly cannot claim that to be the case at the moment imo). Covid probably is a lifelong issue now like lots of viruses we no longer worry about due to vaccinations (e.g. Measles) but which still exist. There are enough people in the medical fraternity who will be very quick to speak up once they feel that the Government restrictions are no longer required. I do not believe in denying people the right to make a decision but sometimes when you make a personal decision you have to accept the shorter term and longer term consequences that go with it otherwise that's having your cake and eating it isn't it? My opinion is refusing the Covid jabs is a "right" that will have shorter term consequences for people that they will have to swallow in return for exercising that right, not longer term.
  13. I suppose we KNOW for a fact that huge numbers of people have died or become extremely ill from Covid. How many people have been extremely ill from receiving the vaccine in comparison to catching the Covid virus? Flu jabs are not mandatory, they are given to people who are at risk from suffering complications as a result of catching flu such as asthma sufferers. Flu has been around for donkeys years and at no point has anyone suggested that you should have a jab in order to obtain a public event so not sure where you are going with your "where does it stop?" argument.
  14. Judge must be a Gert Ted……..gotta be.
  15. Big Bristol Rovers with their 3.3K season ticket holders.....................surely it should be ******* Gert Massive Bristol Rovers?
  16. You can add completion of the detailed design, agreement of contract documents/engrossment of contracts (it will no doubt surprise the Gas hordes that a "successful" Contractor will negotiate on Contract terms and amendments notwithstanding the fact they have been handed the chance on a plate to build a stadium for the Worlds most loved club) and a period for contractor mobilisation (it will no doubt disappoint a few in #gaslogicland but they don't just turn up with their site offices, Bob the Site Manager and a digger the day after you tell them they have been successful in the tender). You would think that on an "average football club forum" there would be someone or many on there who "have a job" or maybe some experience of the construction industry that might be able to put them right when they spout this absolute guff but it doesn't appear to be the case on theirs and that extends to their Owner not just the horse punching, glass butting, boob cricket internationals that follow them. "Yes, we will be building in a year............because it sounds impressive and I said so".........
  17. This can’t be right. Joey said he was staying as Captain. Joey also said he is taking the Few to the Prem. Joey also said he didn’t get relegated...... Joey sounds like a bullshitter........
  18. Don’t know what source you have but that is all very believable tbh.....
  19. We haven’t even got a strong squad when everyone is fit?? I’m sure a lot more has gone on behind the scenes than we’ll ever know.
  20. He’s already told everyone how many windows he needs. 4-6.
  21. Can Robins TV do a special video of Big Nige filling players in before he waves them on his way this evening?
  22. Of course we will. Favourites I would think but who cares? If Pearson brings in the right players we’ll be fine. Isn’t worth going overboard about.
  23. Best part of the season starts here....finding out who will be ******* off??
  24. Some wet wipes on here.......we know that side won’t be starting in August. I was expecting 4-0 minimum today tbh.
