  1. It's about patience imo then progression and you can see from some (definitely not all that's for sure) of the football we are playing that we are heading in some sort of direction now. The mess we were in at the end of last season can't be completely turned round in a few weeks of football.
  2. "Struggling" Preston who are a point behind us and never give us an easy game. That struggling Preston? Go and have a lie down or a glass of water to calm yourself down or something.........
  3. I'm not going to cry my eyes out over it on here that's for sure. Never happy with a draw or defeat at home but as I said earlier Nige has a big rebuild on his hands and we will have bad days (Middlesbrough), good days (Cardiff) and bang average days (today). Which is pretty much reflected in our record of won 2, drawn 2 and lost 2 so far. I'm not over the moon about it but not being a whining little bastard about it either.
  4. Some people aren't seeing it and are expecting us to threaten the top 6 for some strange reason.
  5. We are all frustrated that we haven't got that home win that is missing but it's going to take a while to get this squad up to speed in terms of consistency so any points we pick up in the meantime have to be taken and move on until it gets better. First clean sheet this season. Not a great result but 100% would have lost that a few months ago. Not one to rave about and not one to lose your shit over.
  6. No the other poster did. “Completely” wrong team was the quote.
  7. That’s a good way to start totally pissing players off. The odd change maybe but make three or four changes after a win and players will soon give you their answer to that.
  8. That’s not a completely wrong team then? It’s one or two positions……..
  9. I look at it a different way. Nige may have plenty of work to do to get us up to scratch but he’s identified players prepared to roll their sleeves up and get it done. Those players are still at the club.
  10. ……and Mansfield, Carlisle, Harrogate, Oldham, Hartlepool, Scunthorpe, Rochdale, Tranmere, Salford, in fact anywhere North of Walsall…….obviously!!
  11. I wonder if Ben Garner ever phoned him for the free advice............
  12. Yet another team raises their game to filthy levels in their season "Cup Final".........surely the EFL need to change the rules like give the Few a four goal head start or something?
  13. It doesn’t half make a difference when you have a group of lads who give a shit which is why people who can’t see beyond a result on a Saturday and banging on about Pearson’s record last season have completely missed the point and forgotten how bad things were. He was operating with both hands and feet tied behind his back. We aren’t the finished article, a massive way off that, but we’ve competed in every game so far and that is a huge improvement. We were even winning games in embarrassing fashion last season let alone losing them. You can see the work that is going in to improve us as a team and the players as individuals. These lads deserve fans that get behind them not moan at them. Do that and we’ll get that home win monkey off our backs. Great win today.
  14. Especially as the Few and Cardiff have some weird love in with each other.
  15. Go and have a lie down. The person who used the term term "effin belters" in their post to describe the stream of over reactionary posts on here was being far too kind imo.............. I'll be honest, I think you are nothing more and nothing less than a troll given the content of this and previous posts.
  16. It genuinely is but you haven't pointed out that for much of May and all of June and July we didn't play a single game.
  17. Agreed. Although converting debts to equity will see us fine there is only so much that Lansdown can give without there being some form of cutbacks and money coming the other way. I think he's landed on his feet having Pearson to manage this part of his ownership tbh, a man who will just matter of factly say it how it is and just as importantly is seemingly happy to work within the constraints. If we can just show some patience the next 2-3 years could be Steve's most successful in a strange type of way because you can guarantee there will be plenty of clubs currently in denial who will be hitting stormier waters than us ahead and don't have a billionaire owner prepared to convert debt to share equity. Steve may well have looked at the wages of Kalas, Nagy and Wells and asked Nigel "how much can we offload them for and how much weaker will we be without them?".
  18. Kalas would have been similar imo (I thought Baker and Atkinson played well), Nagy would not have made us any better at all and possibly weaker based on his performances for us generally. Doesn't mean he's crap, just means he hasn't hit the heights for us and certainly hasn't provided huge value on outlay.
  19. If I had to completely guess........I would say no truth. On the basis that he was in the squad yesterday and there are one or two, at most, who post on here and seem to have a grasp of the behind the scenes stuff who would almost inevitably have posted this by now.
  20. I don't doubt that Nagy is a very good player but at the same time he won't be missed at Bristol City. He just never had that effect at the club. It happens sometimes, players just don't really settle and show their best form.
  21. Ignoring the fact, of course, that in return we always move our fixtures during the season whenever there is a clash (why the EFL are so daft that they arrange home matches for both clubs on the same weekend is anyone's guess).
  22. That's the whole point though.....if it comes out of the gob or written hand of any Fewer the chances are it has been made up without any relevance to fact whatsoever. I think that is what In The Net was getting at..............
