  1. Agreed. Chris Martin is a great pro but brimming with class every week he ain't. However, great pro's are what we need right now with the budgetary constraints Steve has asked Nige to work to. We have to take the rough with the smooth and accept that for the game we got at Millwall we will then get a finish at the death today that had Mitrovic buried it we would have been saying "that's what £60K per week gets you at this level".
  2. This is it for me. Last season we were a complete embarrassment after the first 10 games or so. We didn't even compete and a huge chunk of our squad were dishonest bastards literally stealing a living out of Steve Lansdown. What we do have now is a competitive streak slightly marred by a lack of genuine and consistent quality through the side (eg Martin's winner was top drawer but he doesn't produce it every game or even every three games). In this division it is the competitive streak and honesty of the players that can see us through particularly in games like today that could have gone either way. Then Nige can think about how and where we add the quality to be able to control games as well as win them. That's the next step but as you say, a long way off and a few of the more "emotional" posters on the match day threads need to get a grip and realise that.
  3. Maybe but let's see what he does for Peterborough over a whole season against everybody else bar us...........
  4. They didn't just lose today, they got battered. Complete and utter negligence Joseph me old fruit.
  5. So, would we rather have Smodicz back or the three points?
  6. At last........some proper bite in the centre of the pitch. Makes a massive difference and allows others without the bite to concentrate on playing instead.
  7. 3-1 to the negligent one 3-1 to the negligent one .................
  8. That will do nicely. Three points from two away games is a good enough return. Well done Curtis lad.
  9. It's not though is it? Every injury we've had for two years has seen players out for three months minimum. Nothing like deja vu.
  10. That’s irrelevant. The ball was put in on his head. It’s the guy marking him that got there second that was the issue, nothing to do with height. You can be 3ft tall but if you have a free header you’ll head it!!
  11. Nige isn't stupid and won't have the wool pulled over his eyes. Certain players will be digging their own graves. As others have said we are stuck with them for now and inconsistency and lack of quality costing us what should be relatively easy points will continue for a while yet.
  12. My take on it was that I haven't left the Gate with such a buzz after a home game for bloody ages (notwithstanding Covid) and Fulham's goal celebration was just a small part (absolutely massive for the lad himself obviously) of a hugely entertaining afternoon that we have not seen nearly enough of in recent years.
  13. It proves there is literally nothing that can be done for Steve Cooper.............
  14. Yeah but Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and the rest need to accommodate their younger demographic (like the ones giving that kid a load of abuse) who would apparently be reluctant to sign up online with a registered name and address that would come back to them and their parents therefore this type of abuse must be allowed to prosper................... That was the excuse that the middle class white woman representing them gave for allowing online racism to continue unabated anyway.
  15. Wow. It's one thing to have enough time on your hands to worry and moan about the 23's getting pasted but if you've got that sort of time at least do some bloody research before posting an absolute pile of shite. If there was a most "Uneducated Post Ever" award on OTIB that would definitely be in the top one as a certain Mr Clough once said..........
  16. Who said that? They’re top of the league.
  17. Defender (Right Back) seems to have pointed behind Peacock-Farrell rather than screaming at him "he's behind you" pantomime style. However, how unprofessional is it of an International Goalkeeper not to have a quick look behind him before putting the ball on the floor. It's standard Goalkeeping practice at all levels these days. Players will accept genuine mistakes such as handling errors from Goalkeepers all day long like the Bentley error against Luton and the QPR lad against West Brom (it happens) but that type of concentration lapse will boil their piss when they've worked bloody hard for 89 minutes to get a 1-0 lead and are managing the game to a conclusion.
  18. Silva says that was an easy decision. Bear in mind the lino had both Weimann and Wells blocking his view of Palmer (neither offside by the laws of the game). Yes, we got away with one there but I can fully understand how the lino missed that in the 0.2 seconds he had to see his "picture"..........not the straightforward easy decision Silva makes out compared to having the benefit of the frozen shots above.
  19. It was something like 1,890, not thousands, but still more than the "thousands" who followed the Few today. It isn't about the numbers just the fact that they are bullshitting bastards as usual and it spreads from the bottom of the club right through to the top.
  20. ......and I don't remember Nige banging on about a great result for the "thousands" of fans that were there?
  21. What we are seeing now is competitiveness, something totally lacking last season. Think Nige deserves a few more games………
  22. That’s what you call a game of football. Of course Fulham are a better side than us but who cares. Every player gave their all for us.
