  1. Have a look at his career record. What has he actually produced under ANY regime?
  2. Agree but the big positive for me is we are picking up points at the same time as the obvious deficiencies in the squad are identifying themselves. There will be a large turnover of players in the next three windows I think as long as Nige can persuade Steve to loosen some of the purse strings.
  3. …….and I bet Nige wasn’t a lone wolf making that decision going against the vehement protests of Fleming and Downing to keep “our best player”? on the pitch.
  4. This is the legacy of the “clubs in the bag” mantra adopted by both Johnson’s. Instead of appreciating good player’s who consistently do it on a Saturday and Tuesday supporters seem content with players who do something brilliant every now and again and flatter to deceive the rest of the time. O’Dowda is a perfect example and his stats are cast iron proof of his overall level of ability at our level.
  5. Exactly. It doesn’t come down to “not worse than anyone else yesterday”. It’s about a long term view of what they bring to the squad and can they do what the Manager demands 8 or 9 games in every 10 which includes trying to do your job when you aren’t playing well. All I know is if I was a manager a wide midfield player that allows his left back to get destroyed without trying to rectify the situation wouldn’t be top of my retained list especially when he’s nowhere near good enough to be a luxury player where he contributes so much in other areas you ignore the deficiencies.
  6. Agreed, that's every bit as pathetic as the home run itself.
  7. Can't argue with that but if there is such a thing as a "way" of getting beaten by a better side, which obviously Bournemouth are, today wasn't it.
  8. The one thing I would say is that unlike under other Managers I cannot see this group of players putting in five or six of these "performances" in a row. The fact he's prepared to say how bad it was rather than hiding behind football "jargon" or blaming referees tells me that he won't be playing players who won't do what he wants for very long. I'm sure everyone will get a second chance under him but not a 17th and 18th chance.
  9. This is the message that keeps repeating tonight. (Almost) everyone realises that Nige has got a very limited squad to work with and that results will very much be a mixed bag. What NOBODY will accept whether they have extreme or balanced opinions on the club, whether they think Nige should be sacked after every bad performance or whether they think he should be given three years to build something better, is watching us surrender on a Saturday afternoon. Bournemouth are better than us, everyone knows that, but don't go and hand them the game on a china plate with a silver service.
  10. Pring needs a rest for a few games I think (perhaps a spell on the bench). We have to remember this is his first season at this level. I wouldn't worry so much about Tanner right now who certainly got better as the game wore on.
  11. That's the key for me. There are a minority who have totally lost their shit about today but most of us accept we've "competed" in every single game this season however well or badly we have played BUT today we didn't reach that level and for people who work bloody hard all week and look forward to the football on a Saturday that won't do. I would go as far to say that if we don't sort this home form out to at least some noticeable degree of improvement in the next three months the club are going to get a right kicking when season ticket renewal comes round.
  12. Yep, fair comment. I feel he's had enough chances personally, more than enough tbh, but yes, if Nige picks him in future games, I have to go with it.
  13. I agree and the result itself doesn't bother me. However the fact we didn't even compete today, for the first time this season I might add, was very disappointing. I can accept lack of quality but that was surrender out there today.
  14. But Dasilva played in front of him rather than O'Dowda who clearly couldn't be trusted to do the defensive work he needed to do because he simply offered nothing defensively first half. If O'Dowda was showing willingness to help out and making a few decent runs with the ball he would have stayed on.
  15. So your left back is having a mare. Do you say “**** it, his problem” or get back and help him out?
  16. Pring remained left back, Dasilva played in front of him. O’Dowda could have done that but we were getting destroyed down that side.
  17. Amazing how many people who have been watching football for years don’t understand what a wide midfield player has to do.
  18. If you are playing left midfield and your left back is getting bummed you have to help out. It’s basics. If you sit in the stand and ball watch for 90 minutes I guess you miss that part of the game? A few runs with the ball werent enough for the staff that’s for sure. He gave James a terrible pass for the goal.
  19. No, you need to understand that football is played with and WITHOUT the ball. Presumably Nige needs to get his eyes cleared out too as he lacks the ability to watch a game like you and your mates?
  20. What’s that got to do with anything? The guy has had far too many chances to impress as it is and hasn’t taken them.
  21. He got hooked at half time for a reason. People who only watch the ball would have missed it. Hung his own left back out to dry.
  22. By watching what he does without the ball as well as with it. Two sides to playing football.
