  1. Home draw against the lowest ranked team all day long
  2. It's funny, when we play well and win the atmosphere is great, no issues with dodgy acoustics, location of the singing section etc etc blah blah blah! The key to a great atmosphere is the team playing well and winning
  3. News flash we are not the biggest football team in the world, the way football works is bigger (or should I say Premier League) clubs buy players from smaller (non premier league) clubs. We then buy players from smaller clubs (e.g. Matty Taylor) and then bigger clubs buy our players. Even Man Utd have their players bought from them by Real Madrid. It's the way it works, and the way it's always worked. It doesn't show a lack of ambition at all, it's just the natural order of football.
  4. Who gives a shit really, it was years ago! Marcus was great for Rovers, fair do's, he went on to bigger things and did well before ending up back at City where it didn't work out, so what? Why do you care so much? GJ didn't like him, who cares? Such tedium!
  5. Who's this beautiful, blonde man with a lovely voice? It's Annie Lennox
  6. Imagine being allocated one of the outer pitches! You'd be knackered just getting to it! The downs has 32 pitches according to wiki, which I thought was a lot! Great pic
  7. I could only see this working if the number of white cards equates to something like an extra point or whatever, so instead of players diving and faking injury, they were helping each other up and getting in with the game, but it's massively subjective and would end up causing controversy I'm sure
  8. I had a Twitter debate with Phillips a couple of years back (I'm not on it now) where he got very upset that he hadn't been included in some City Legends event, the long and short of it is he felt he was a City Legend and I felt he wasn't!
  9. He revolutionised football in this country and was ahead of his time in many ways. I think he probably stayed too long at Arsenal in the end but interestingly as part of the financing arrangements for building the Emirates, there was a clause that Arsene Wenger had to stay as manager, as a sort of insurance policy, so he actually had added pressure on his shoulders and this was also a reason he stayed on.
  10. That guy at Wolves Nuno Espírito Santo I really liked, would love someone like him at some stage. After Big Fat Benny we have never taken the plunge with a foreign manager and it would be an exciting change to the norm!
  11. Actually 7 of the top 8, only Plymouth havnt played in the Prem
  12. That Bell goal reminded me of Michael Owen, such great pace and composure
  13. https://getyarn.io/yarn-clip/499ad9f7-4a73-424d-b45d-b1a5caf2605a
  14. I remember going round my Great Grampys flat when I was a kid over Speedwell way, and he had a black and white TV next to his pet budgie and loved watching the snooker!
  15. This has happened quite a few times over the last few years with little or no impact. Man Utd get nearly 80,000 and Man City nearly 60,000 so it's no wonder they don't have capacity for policing and transporting 140,000 at the same time for a few hours, but not an issue here with total crowd no more than 30,000
  16. Fair play where it's due for the Rovers team doing this
  17. To the tune of Jonny Cash - Ring of Fire: And he burns burns burns Cam Prings on fire Cam Prings on fire Do do do dodo dododo do do doooooooo dodo dododo do do doooooooo
  18. In fairness Ramsdale is in goal, so he's already at that end, he didn't do a Adebayor and run the length of the pitch. I think fans get very over sensitive and judgy when a player does something (boo hoo) and for me the fans need to take it as what it is, not get all upset about it, show some maturity and see it for what it is
  19. I've got no issue with players interacting with the crowd after a goal or whatever, it's part of the theatre for me, I didn't think what Troy Deeney did after the pen can be classed as goading. However, the real issue is stupid football fans who can't deal with the so called goading or losing a game or whatever it may be and feel they have no option but to attack a player or run on the pitch or confront them outside the ground, as happened with Everton. These people are idiots and are the real problem, not Ramsdale kissing his badge after the game etc, any sensible person would be able to laugh that off or ignore it
  20. I'd argue we are at our natural level in the championship, you might say it's treading water, but as we all know parachute payments have made it very difficult to compete, so you need to spend a lot of ££££ to just stay afloat at this level, which is what we have done. Rovers fans may scoff that SL has wasted millions and we haven't got anywhere, but some of the problems are that he spent loads before we had the infrastructure in place, then when we finally did have the decent ground etc he gave the ££££ to Ashton who didn't spend it wisely. If Rovers get promoted without improving the infrastructure then they will go back down, it's as simple as that. They won't be able to generate the income required to compete. If Wael tries to compete then this will mean actually spending some of his supposed fortune for the first time, as he won't generate anything from match day revenue, and the academy isn't at the level required to find top players and sell them on, and that's when the problems will really start, as to get the decent players into a club which on paper is probably punching above their weight, especially in terms of stadium and training facilities, you need to pay top ££££ and then you will have players on big contracts you can't afford when you go down etc etc etc and you end up screwed financially. Obviously the great thing about being a football supporter is the dream to play at the highest level, but these days that dream requires loads of £££££ to stand any chance.
  21. Blackburn have lost 4 in last 6 games, twice conceding 4, shows how open this league is really
