11 years ago today we beat Middlesborough 3-1 according to my Facebook memories this morning, that's all I've got!
-
Caulker turned down for Tv job by the programme sponsors Bet365 due to his work on gambling! You couldn't make it up!
-
Wrexham have tweeted that following Accrington raising match day prices by £5 for their game v Wrexham they have decided to lower prices by £5 for the returning fixture!
Great marketing obviously, but also great for fans that not all clubs are just out to screw each other playing tit for tat on prices.

Which is fine, just so long as they don't hide behind and 'we need the revenue' arguments.
They could have hosted more people, taken cash over the bar and flogged a few pizzas.
Yeah, in the grand scheme of things it's small, but they have the facilities.
The money made on this wouldn't cover a players earnings for 1 minute, it would be a complete drop in the ocean

I see they finally have permission for the "stand", what an embarrassing shambles

The danger with that, is that if they read the forum (and we all assume they do), they'll have pre prepared answers to pre prepared questions.
If they have any sense at all they would never go into something like this without having thought about the sort of questions they might get and therefore the answers they might give, if they don't prepare in this way then god help them!

Would be good to get a list together of top 5 questions that fans want asking, rather than a scatter gun approach of random questions on the night. Will be interesting to see how they manage it

Manning already doing a Cotts/Nige and signalling to the ownership that he hasn't had enough backing in the transfer market
And we all know how that goes!

I thought that was a cut off for Season tickets. If you are just buying a one off on the day ticket surely it's your age on the day of purchase.
"Can I have an under 18 ticket for myself based on my age 26 years ago please?"

When I first posted about the new accounts it was on the Saturday night before NP was sacked on the Sunday. There were 5 or 6 new accounts that joined and all were anti NP. Mods said later on that thread that they were indeed BS employees and they had signed up with there BS email addresses.
Out of interest were they openly showing that they were employees of Bristol Sport via their user name or in their posts or was it more cloak and dagger? If the latter then I'm afraid that's very very poor and extremely underhand and paints Bristol Sport very badly for me

Here’s a short video, with Manning discussing his coaching philosophy (in 2021). He stated that his coaching is underpinned by principles rather than systems. The most encouraging comment for me was that he tries to utilise a player’s strengths rather get them to adapt too much (I’m thinking of Mehmeti).
Apologies if this has been posted previously.
Reminds me of this

He must had did an incredible job at improving MK Dons as they sacked him.
That's like saying Nige did a crap job because we sacked him, do you know the context he was sacked as you do with Nige?

Sub standard playing career doesn’t always mean his managerial career is going to play out the same
The Special One for example or Wenger

He's taking over a steady ship I'd say so that's in his favour, as normally you are staring relegation in the face.
He will be given money I'm sure as SL was clearly saving the cash for the new man.
His record at the last 3 clubs is pretty consistent, 48% win ratio which is better than NP's so IF he keeps that going he will do well.
His job is different to NP's when he came in so there can be no excuses.
Id never heard of him before, but prepared to back him.

In which case apologies. I find it frustrating when people facepalm a post without offering any sort of debate etc.

Ten Hag and his Ajax side did it at the CL level tbh, vs sides with bigger resources etc. Man United seem amusingly dysfunctional still, some top and some while not too with strong reputation seem to go there, do fine to a point, hit a plateau then decline sharply.
Tags win ratio is higher than all the managers since Fergie, can't comment on the style of football but he's not done badly with a basket case of a club and squad

Not exactly . But don’t think it’s as dead as people assume, in that he wants the job and the person people expecting to be announced today doesn’t.
Did you just put some money on Lampard now 4/6 fave again!
-
Manning 1/1 now on Sky Bet now so some people are definitely lumping on him this morning and 8/11 elsewhere, nobody else is even close and Lampard is moving out slowly

Currently 3 points off the playoffs and 10 clear of relegation zone, whoever comes in it's a great position to takeover on, usually a new manager arrives when you are at the bottom struggling!

Not often we will get discussed on Soccer Saturday! Gives another outside perspective of the situation. Even Merse is passionate about the sacking! The mention of Scott being sold and not replaced.
Edit: Not sure what Morrison is referring to regarding the spending!
Paul Merson is spot on!

After 34 years of attending games, today was my first is corporate hospitality and it was great! If you ever get the chance take it, food was amazing, free bar, great view, half time warm up back in the box, amazing experience. The club gets knocked for off the field stuff a lot of the time but hats off, very good today!
