  1. not sure it is effort actually, more down to skill.. not technical ability -he clearly has that in spades but he cant put that into something productive in the championship and other parts of his game are clearly lacking.

Hes a big unit, not likely to be 'athletic' like a weinman so I dont mistake his lack of tracking, positioning to do with effort as you can work around those things with nouse. I think its just skill.  He does not have the right skills to succeed at championship level

  2. In terms of overall equality that we all (right?) strive for, no it probably isn't appropriate - however to use it as a stick to beat the feminism cause (or equality cause lets say) is wrong. Mis steps in the strive for equality does not give old fashioned values regarding woman the right to continue

Why would you feel the need to 'label' someone, or their posts?

On the basis of what pillred actually wrote your labelling of him as a mysogynist is complete nonsense.

Actually, it's more than just nonsense - it's a really unpleasant and nasty accusation, made with no foundation whatsoever, that perhaps you should retract?

Actually very careful in that post and the follow up post NOT to call him a misogynist (as I don’t know the poster) but to suggest that the post was, or indeed the implied nature was misogynistic.

it is not unpleasant or nasty to call out people undermining equality. If he has no interest in woman’s football, that is absolutely fine, just don’t post about it in a way that undermines it.

Thought the guy come across really well in the article tbh

As much as someone who likes to try and beat up people in the name of a team that kicks a round object around can do, yeah

”I might well kick a black guys head in but it’s because of the football team he supports not the colour of his skin!”

Hand out the Nobel peace prize now

Not misogyny at all, have been happily married for over 36 years, look I have watched and enjoyed many games involving the England women's team and think some of the play and skill level is very good but until women themselves show any interest in attending matches the game at women's level will always be of minority interest sorry if that upsets you but that's just the way it is.

Being happily married for 36 years doesn’t really mean anything in this context. Liking the company of a woman or indeed marrying one does not mean you are not a misogynist, nor does your original post say you personally are per say, however your post was, along with being condescending and dismissive, and surely utterly pointless in its purpose.

Your post doesn’t upset me, it makes me angry however it does upset me that woman’s sport does not get the same coverage as men’s.

“That’s just the way it is” is such a half arsed lazy cop out

it is the way it is because woman have been subjugated and suppressed by men for centuries and denied the same opportunities. Even as recently as the 50’s woman’s football attracted the same, if not more crowds but was shut down by the FA. Not because of lack of popularity but presumably because men did not like it and felt threatened and considered it not their place.

what a crock of shit, and for people to still be ignorant to these matters and not be encouraging is a disgrace and should be held accountable as such.

plenty of woman and girls go to men and woman’s football and more will continue to start going if it is made more accessible, accepting and encouraged by society.

none of these things anyone should have a problem with surely? But you do? You must do to have felt it necessary to write this crap

I think the number of replies to this posting tells you all you kneed to know about the interest the average poster on this site has for the bcfc womens team, there is only so many times you can flog a dead horse, sorry if this seems harsh but it's the truth.

Why did you feel the need to post this??

I could go into how frequently the men’s team podcast topics get minimal interaction, and that it doesn’t mean it’s not being listened to and I could go on but that would be adding too much credence to your post which is just best labelled under misogyny and we all move on as some can’t be helped

Just how, exactly do you think men's football improved?

Back in the days of the amateur, it was rubbish. The pitches were mud baths. They had 9 forwards. And basically shoved the keeper across the line when he caught the ball near the goals.

Then came the professional era, money, coaching, tactics and now we've got grass measurement, drones and all sorts of stuff to deliver the "fine margins" for victory. This has taken DECADES.

Yes, women's football doesn't have the physicality of men's football nor the speed. But the games I've watched there's skill on show and they love the game. Women's football is a relatively new game, it will take investment to improve it. And as a father of two girls i'd love them to play at any level.

and the only reason it inst as developed is because it was suppressed by men. Its so important on so many levels that that this is allowed to grow and has investment, I am pleased my club seems to be doing that

Whoever writes the Scum’s match reports is on some very strong drugs. A sampling:

“Rovers were…not plucky. We will not say plucky. That word conjures thoughts of trying hard with little quality. This was not the case. The side two divisions inferior showed genuine ability, time and again, and displayed intent to win the tie. Perhaps, ultimately, it was their downfall. But golly, the attempt was a valiant one.”

“Eight minutes into the game, there was a minor concern over a Rovers player, who took a ball full in the face from close range. One wonders if the shout came…”’Ed Up, Son”.”

“”VAR, VAR, VAR…” chanted the large contingent of Brighton fans taking up the South Stand. We are happy with our new big screen, Seagulls, but this is The Mem. Cool kit launch videos we can do, but VAR is not quite our responsibility yet.”

“there was not much to separate Pirates and Seagulls -let’s face it, both of them would nick your chips”

“Then, from Tom Nichols’ well-guided pass to the right flank, Josh Hare whipped in a cross which Adeboyejo was perfectly positioned to convert, only to be denied by a brilliant intervention by Adam Webster.”

<Webster obviously intimidated by the Whorefield Ultras... ? >

    “Rover launched one final flurry...”

<He’s come out of his shell since Darrell left...>

“Cup chances, gone for a Burton. But a trip to Britain’s brewing capital will see Gasheads with glasses at least three-quarters full.”

    ...unlike their stadium.

OH MY GOD THATS ACTUALLY THE REPORT LIFTED FROM THEIR WEBSITE

Absolutely rag bag I literally can’t get over that ?? “but golly..” ?? oh man, seriously? Really? We’ve interrupted their servers or something and posted that haven’t we? Surely?? No? It’s for real?

“Cool kit launch videos we can do, but VAR is not quite our responsibility yet.”

OH MY GOD, THIS IS SUPPOSED TO BE A BUSINESS.. RAN BY, YOU KNOW, ADULTS

**** me sideways this is immense

    Mind the ******* gap ???

  10. it feels like a millions years ago, and may be a contributing factor to our downturn, but watch this and remember how good following football can be..

What comes first, decent results or support? Who knows, but all our attitudes to our current situation are fairly poor and it’s amazing how football can do this to you.

Fans packing the new den, Millwall riding on the cusp of a wave towards the playoffs, Bristol city with pretty much the same points but wishing away their lives annoyed that we should have more points, and should be in the playoffs rather than concentrating on trying to get into them. Funny old game
