    Last 8 League games;

    Luton W4   D3   L1    Scored 8   Conceded 5   Pts 15  (4 clean sheets)

    City    W4   D3   L1    Scored 8   Conceded 5   Pts 15   (4 clean sheets)

However, we are bare bones squad wise and Luton have hit form in the last 4 games.

I think it'll be a close game with Luton edging it, but wouldn't be overly surprised with a draw.

  2. Half time in tonight’s CL game… a “masterclass of passing and moving..” Bloody hell…

HT: RB Leipzig 0-1 Man City

Remember, this is a RB Leipzig side full of talent that has lost just one of their last 20 games. They're very good but simply haven't been allowed to play.

It's just been an amazing performance. Maybe Pep will feel like this is a perfect 45 minutes of football in the first half of a Champions League game away from home.

It's just been a masterclass of passing and moving.

Problem is the whole of Bristol ( in there words ) is shitehead territory. As mentioned on other threads I don’t know of an area which they have as a stronghold ,

Frampton cotterill , coalpit heath maybe , possibly Cadbury Heath that’s about it I would say .

there old strongholds ie Yate Kingswood Hanham all very much city now

Well you’re forgetting Fantasy Island, Never Never Land and of course the fact that the majority of them come from a different planet..

  4. Play off final 2008…. Still leaves me with a knot in my stomach every time they’re mentioned.. Hope we batter them.

Whilst I was also there as a young un to see Cashley score, the play off final for me is the one that stands out the most in memory.

Are we allowed to talk about this game yet?

I'm starting to believe that with a lot of luck and if we play to our absolute best, we may be able to pull something off. Man City don't seem to be the machine they usually are this season.

Losing to Southampton in the other cup and drawing away against Forest the other day should give us some confidence that they are not as unbeatable as they usually are.

Almost frightened to talk about it to be honest.. Our new boys will be cup tied, Naismith and Atkinson both unavailable and only a yellow card against Hull from the unthinkable… we’ve also burned our penalty allowance for the next few years.. All things considered… We’ll win 1-0 ??

Although yesterday was a fantastic win, and this 9 game unbeaten run is excellent in terms of results, there remain concerns, and there remain reasons we won't get into the play offs.

Defensively we still allow opponents a large number of chances. However they tend to be lower quality, and O'Leary has played well. Combined that means we've been able to keep goals conceded fairly low. But - we are conceding.

Just as we were never as bad as some thought we were in the autumn, we're not as good as some think we are now. Expect the run to finish fairly soon, and for us to then go through the remainder of the season with a fairly typical mix of wins, draws and losses, ultimately finishing in mid table.

Go on then, when will our run finish (ex Man City).. and while I also don’t think we’ll finish top 6, who are the 12 teams that you’re expecting to finish above us?

just stopping by.     Take the opportunity to wish Robins every success in this upcoming contest.     Seriously, no impartiality, I really hope you can do it.    Remember, all things are possible in this industry.     Few neutrals won't allow you a sniff but now's your chance to stuff words down their throats and really make an impact on this years competition.     We have a tough game ourselves against Burnley, leading team in your league but we held them at home and in truth, don't fear a replay at Turf Moor.

Maybe in a minority but old enough to recall Manchester City being a totally unsuccessful team playing in front of few crowds at Maine Road with the ZDS / Simod Cup being a viable trophy route.    Not really jealous of their new-found wealth and investment, just don't always like it when some rich foreign owners turn up and take a once completely ordinary club name winning next to nothing, into near overnight celebrities.    Club names like that need to be taken down a peg or too, I look to Chelsea as another prime example, so, once again, best of luck if your Cup meeting at Ashton Gate when the day comes.     Do many 'neutrals' a favour, and put those chumps out.

Thanks… but “don’t fear a replay at Turf Moor”??? You could easily get done 5 nil up there..

  8. interesting words here from LJ reflecting on his January transfer window..

I think it’s been a brilliant window in terms of the outs, because we had to do that,” Johnson says. “You have to remember it’s about the facilities. At some clubs, say Bristol City, there are two facilities there so if a player is not wanted, or not getting gametime, or bringing the culture down then you move them to the other facility and protect the culture. I have worked really hard to protect the culture here between ten and two o’clock, and put the discipline in place and have a different training group on at 3pm so if anybody is causing problems or is not fully focused they can be moved. That 3pm group is also for development so we can improve the young players technically as they are coming up from the academy, and that has been really important. In the last four or five weeks there’s no doubt I’ve noticed the change in the malaise that is sometimes around this place.

More excited by the wycombe signing simply because he is on the up - my concern re: Cornick is that he at his peak, so a sideways move on a long contract.

Surely we should wait and see how Harry settles in before we get too concerned.. Tinnion obviously thinks we’ve got a good deal, that should be good enough for now at least.

    Welcome Harry ??

Thank goodness it’s being played after the transfer window closes.. we could’ve ended up losing half of our team to the prem after we win this one. No replay too, correct? Here come those penalties..

Very few of us Cardiff fans want Warnock back. It's looking increasingly likely that Sabri Lamouchi will be the new manager, with ex-City player, Sol Bamba, his number two. Strong speculation that three new players will follow Lamouchi's appointment; who those players might be, is anyone's guess!

    Martin, Massengo and Klose.. ??
