The fact it’s the 4th game in 10days is all too evident. The two teams remind of two boxers hanging onto each in the 12th round.
Certainly two lightweights..

You think that because you have an inability to understand the type of player that Tanner is.
He is not a Pring, Kyle Walker, Roberto Carlos etc type of full back. He is a Gary Neville type of full back and that is his role in the team.
He fits with exactly how we are looking to play. Unless you're Spurs, you don't really want both of your full backs getting forward at the same time. You kinda wanna keep 3 back and Tanner fits that perfectly as because he's defensively minded he's able to play in that rcb role.
George Tanner will not keep a fit Ross McCrorie, who actually stated half way through the second half of tonight’s game that his preferred position is RB, out of the team..
Despite his sound defensive qualities I think it is much more likely that GT is under instruction to play the easy pass across to Zac rather than risk playing more adventurously on the front foot as there are known offensive limitations.
BTW, Gary Neville used to, and still does, pride himself on the way that he used to feed David Beckham not keep playing it square to Steve Bruce or whoever.

This fixture was probably our worst performance and result of last season..
Feeling a lot more optimistic this time though on the back of our performance at Watford..
Hoping for another win.. COYR’s

@old eastender.. Come on mate, front up and pay your respects, 50 goals is a fantastic milestone, it was certainly a fantastic finish and fair play to Joe Williams.. that was a confident and fantastic assist..

Good work JB
Watford are on an incredible run, they’ve had the same manager since May..
Hoping for a point at least..

Roseniors comments after their recent loss to WBA 3-1 (Hull, like last night also had less shots than their opponents).. He’s a tosser..
Hull manager Liam Rosenior told BBC Radio Humberside:
"It's always horrible, especially when you lose a game in the manner that we did. We gift-wrapped the game to them.
"For 90% of the game we were the better team but in the 10% where we switch off and make errors and don't do professional things, that's what won them the game.
"We've gone toe to toe with a very good team, dominated certain areas but gifted goals at crucial times.
"(Seri) has made a mistake and will hold his hands up and I will hold my hands up because I'm asking the players to play that way - I believe in it.
"In fact, playing that way gets us back in the game and we took complete control, Lewie scored a fantastic goal and for a 15-minute spell in the second half we were completely on top."

Merry Xmas JB and thanks for another great write up
We’ve already played Hull on a Friday night this season which ended in a 1-1 draw at their place in another game that we could easily have won. The team back then was pretty much the same side as we’re fielding now, if anything we are stronger at the moment with both Conway and Dickie available. Interesting to see how much we have kicked on since then….

Shame to see that Kal has been benched from Robins TV after his honest and candid performance vs Blackburn..

The lack of protection for our centre backs from midfield worries me a bit , as highlighted at Blackburn . Feels like a bit of a dentist visit today
Let’s hope it’s..”just say aahhhh..” and not AARGGHHHHH!!!

Didn't we go 2nd in the First Division after the 4-1 win against Sunderland. 2 wins, 2 draws from our opening 4 games.
Wasn’t that 4-1 win was also the game where we took the kick off in both halves?

Doubtful whether JL will spend in January but other clubs will.. hope they don’t come looking for Sykes and Dickie..
-
Thank **** he left Sykes on..

I agree… but to give us a chance LM really needs to leave Sykes on the pitch and not keep bringing him off on the hour mark.

Indeed, I do, as witnessed by my earlier post.
I feel good, I feel bad.
I feel happy, I feel sad.
Am I in love.
Ah, it sounded more like The Beatles than The Beatles ever did.
Sounds more like being a Bristol City fan…

Poor side who are unbeaten in 4 games and won at Sunderland as well as drawn with Southampton the trouble is it fits the narrative that everyone else are crap in a division that is tight , QPR have won 3 on the trot since our awful 0-0 draw there
QPR are going really well under their new manager and with their core of decent players, Chair / Willock even Dykes at this level will not be going down. Huddersfield don’t have any decent players and personally I thought Rotherham looked a better side when we played them away. I still think that Huddersfield will go down, can’t think of three worse sides and I’m still disappointed that we didn’t do better.
-
We played OK.. but let’s be honest, Huddersfield are crap and will go down. Really disappointed with only one point against such a poor side.

Huddersfield have had a few good results in recent weeks and on the face of it seem to be in a fair bit of form. However, it must be said that they have also been riding their luck too.. Sunderland had 27 shots to their 8, and Swansea had 22 shots to their 5 for example. It’s about time our luck, and especially GT and Zac’s luck in particular changed. Fingers firmly crossed.. 3-1 to us.

Side issue but WTF is the score with Hayden Roberts?
Went off over a month ago now with something innocuous & when Barton asks about his return Manning doesn’t even bother to mention him.
Not saying he’s going to make a huge difference but as we don’t even fill our subs bench it would be nice to know what’s the latest.
As an aside.. noticed that in the last two ManCity games at least Pep has not named a full bench either, and on top of that he has included two keepers….

I was impressed with Liverpool and Arsenal both won really tight games with Arsenal nicking the winner in added time and Liverpool finally seeing off the Blades also in added time.
The Premier League is really open this season - it’s difficult to call who’ll win in tho. Any of the current top 8 are all in with a shout.
Top 8?? Have you had your breakfast yet… Top 4 possibly.
-
Honestly not a loaded question… But assuming that the under 21s are also now playing the new Liam way, is this the main reason for a downturn in results with a couple of heavy defeats lately? Apart from young Beerholtz (you know who I mean) none of the kids are making up the numbers on the bench either.

3.5 year contract remember.
All smacks of the opportunity to go on a rebuild and to right the 'wrongs' that he inherited.
(That doesn't necessarily follow that he would get a 3.5 year payoff, depending on the detail of the contract).
I don’t think that JL would have the nerve of SL and give the manager an extended time to come good.. unlike his dad he’s already shown how weak he is under intense scrutiny since sacking Nige, he’ll need someone to take the wrap. SL never flinched in his support for LJ giving him far too much time, JL is not that strong.
