I've got a lot of issues with the club, and for that reason have been an away fan only for almost 6 years now. However something the club has got right recently is the pathway from the academy to the first team. I'd rather watch local players like Max, who may not be world beaters, than a team of Mercenaries.

The club had certainly got the pathway right in recent times.. not so sure now though, it’s a struggle to put the kids on the bench at the moment let alone give them a go.

All players will want to do the best for themselves, that doesn’t make them mercenaries. What player bought through the academy has stayed once the lure of £££ and an opportunity to play at a higher level has been put in front of them?

    None worth their salt..

Peak otib to suggest knight isn’t up to it.

Go on then.. what do you consider his main strengths and attributes are apart from trying hard and giving 100%?

  4. This will no doubt go against the grain, but in my opinion he ain’t up to it.

In such a critical position we need better. JK has a great engine, never stops running or trying, but he’s lacking the quality that we desperately need in such a critical midfield position. If we are to move on then so does JK.  He’s the weak link when compared to Matty James, TGH, Sykesy, or Joe Williams, and even Scott Twine..

    There I’ve said it..

The sacking of NP, quotes from the board about squad being good enough for promotion, top 10 budget in the league, appointing a young forward thinking head coach…

I know I am hanging on the words/actions of our board but this is what they have set themselves up for. After everything that has happened over the last 4 to 6 months, we are entitled to believe we deserve more than what we are getting.

    Can’t argue with that…

Is there any point in ignoring the cup games when analysing Manning?  Or is it moaners ignore and happy claps include?

Personally I would include every game

Fair enough, but then consider all opposition, Leicester and Leeds away from home as well as Ipswich at the gate. Three tough games there lost by the odd goal under Nige, his point tally could have been higher with easier games like Blackburn and Preston away and Millwall at home.. The return in league points since the change in manager is shocking and makes a mockery of why we changed in the first place nobody can or should try and defend that fact.

On the face of it a decent performance. Enjoyed what I saw of it. Two great finishes for our goals...

...but seriously, if you are Steve Lansdown you've got to be asking how Coventry - a financial and logistical basket case in very recent memory  - look a more accomplished side than the one he's put together.

    Hey ho. 13th beckons again!

He needs to be asking the mirror..

****** Welsh a law unto themselves, they also showed AFCB v Swansea live  on S4C

I watched both games live here in Aus.. reason being they were the only tie being played on each evening, out of interest on Sunday did they show Newport live too? I watched Liverpool vs Bristol Rovers, sorry Norwich..

Anyway, I did share some common ground with the inbreds, I too was crying out loud watching each game 😂😂😂😂😂

I think if we can go there and perform as we did last night and frustrate them then the home crowd will get restless and that can play into our hands.

We still need to find a way to score though.. Imagine if it goes to penalties and it easily could. Tommy won’t be on the pitch after extra time, nor will Jamo, Ross McCrorie and unlikely Joe too, so who’ll take them?

    My guess;

    1. Nahki, 2 Sam, 3 Knightey, 4 Zac, 5 Harry .. 🫣

Has Max ever saved a penalty for us?

I’m always intrigued by “who we replace Tommy with” debates.

If you’re describing a target man, then the big question for me is - can he also press as a part of the frontline line Tommy does?  If he can’t, then you’re ripping up all of that aspect of the without ball system Manning is putting into place.

If you’re describing a strong, powerful player who can do some of the work of a target man, but also run the press like Tommy, you’re describing Antoine Semenyo and they cost £9m!

    Its a real dilemma.

A Diedhiou-type would be an awful choice for what Manning is looking for imho.

It really is a big dilemma.. Having watched £15m Chris Wood tonight and comparing work rate and potential threat to Tommy I honestly would not swap. Having said that I’m not sure at all what the eventual solution may be though.

Having David that and without professing to know too much about him I was quite intrigued when we were rumoured to have an interest in 22 year old Muniz from Fulham. A young Brazilian forward who is on the outer fringe of their first team and from the odd sub appearance that I’ve seen of him since our perceived’ interest looks to have good physique, pace and maybe could offer something different / South American flair? Whether we were ever really interested or not I don’t know, but he was loaned out to Boro last season and to me seems the type of player that would be a squad upgrade that we  could realistically target while still retaining TC as long as he wants to be here of course.

Easily. See below pic of Liverpool bench in their last league game. It includes two gks.

The only reason he's not been a regular is because of the two injuries. He now seems back to full fitness.

Tell you what, that young #42 Clark looked a really good prospect in his late cameo appearance vs Fulham the other night.⚽👍
