  1. Leeds have rested quite a few players for this one.. regardless they still have a strong side out and are being given a real game by an honest and hard working Plymouth side.

We play Plymouth away on April fools day..  what could possibly go wrong?

Without listening to the consistently changing guff that comes out of the club hierarchy, what are the expectations of us, the fans?

Personally, I want City to develop and grow as a Championship club, which we are doing, and to get another long overdue crack at the play offs.

With that in mind, we're on the right track.  We'll definitely get there, my main frustration with the SL ownership is that it's taking far too long to achieve this.

Why can other smaller, or similar sized clubs overtake us so quickly?  That's the question I can never quite answer.

Because they’re not being constrained by Lansdown..

i am now reconciled to never again in my lifetime, aged 78, seeing City play in top flight.  Much more likely see them play in equivalent of old division 3 South

Chin up Ivor.. those who have only been supporting City for the last 40 years or so will never get to experience it.

Totally agree. I just watched the extended highlights, ok Leeds were good and looked very sharp. Most probably one of the best away teams at BS3 this season. Having said that we are strides behind Leeds in many aspects. Going down 1-0 against a team that most probably will get automatic promotion this season we are still miles behind where we should be with our new “manager” sorry Liam mate I think you have either promised a lie or finally realised you have bitten off more than you can chew.

Our performance I would say is ok at a mid table championship level only. Ok FA cup run potentially would be good but with the league same old crap and inconsistent performances which lets the die hard curt fans around the world disappointed ( and yes there are quite a few of us) but most importantly the city fans that attend week in and week out and travel away deserve far better.

The extended highlights were quite flattering to be honest.. If you’ve got access to Bein Sports watch the full ninety.. it’s harrowing. 🫣

He did say if there is a deal to be done we'll do it.  He'll be fully aware that if City want to buy at a fair bit less than the £5m asking price he can't be excessively enthusiastic or emphatic about wanting to buy.

I like the signings of the recruitment team.   They look exciting and astute in the context of the (relatively) low-wage market City can compete in.  Not all will work out but they all look like they have the potential to do well.  The one area where they will probably splash the cash with an up to £5m budget (or more if the likes of Cam Pring and Tommy move on) is the physical but mobile no. 9.    It looks like there is going to be a sensible move from a decent but ageing and pedestrian midfield to something more dynamic which the arrival of Bird and others will bring.

I think James, King (who might stay as a coach),  Mehmeti, Roberts, Cornick and a few of the academy lads will be moved on.  Williams has done well and could well stay to give some experience and competive bite.  It is that cliche of 'a work in progress' but some of the negativity is unjustified.  We've outplayed a premier top-six side and in a fair number of the league games we have played then more chances than under Nige have been created but there has been nobody clinical enough to take them or provide better assists.  We say how different that was when Twine was playing.

Maybe it's the south-east Asan heat deluding me, but I am excited for next season. With a more youthful and creative midfield and that elusive clinical finisher, I reckon we'll finish top six.

    Nah, you're right, you're deluded.

Not a chance we “gave it a go” against Leicester, we had 10 men behind the ball and the goal was coming from a mile off. Both performances were poor, but only Manning gets blamed for the game he managed

Bristol City manager Nigel Pearson told BBC Radio Bristol:

"We're all disappointed to lose via a penalty or via anything really, but I think what we saw today with this team is a collective spirit which shines through even in adversity.

"I can't ask for more. We're talking about creating a side with an identity and I think the players are doing that in a really fantastic way.

"We want to win games - of course we do - and we're all disappointed about the result but I can't question, and I don't question, the commitment of our players. I thought they were absolutely superb."

Not quite the same type of feeling after the conclusion of Friday nights shitshow..

What's more depressing, is only us and Blackburn haven't won a game in the last 6. We both sit bottom of the form league, and we have scored the least amount of goals in the last six. Rock bottom.

    Relegation form.

Guess who Blackburn’s last win was against?

We were so bad against Leeds though it’s actually seriously scary… If we play anywhere near like that at Forest and Elanga and Awonyi are playing we will get smashed… or Southampton, or Boro.

Dont suppose we’ll be seeing the boys for another forum at the Hen and Chicken anytime soon either..

Thank God we had Nige for the first 14 games or so, the points earned then will keep us up. Cheers again Nige 👍

  8. Tinnion can be as upbeat as he likes, I’ve not bothered listening but, if and I know it’s a big IF, but if Plymouth win their two games in hand then they go above us… Just think about that.

Just listened, not as bad as I feared (low bar).

Obvious from it that both King (which we knew) & James aren’t getting new contracts.

Think we all know Conway won’t sign another one, too.

I think we’ll probably lose Cam too.. he can’t go on playing as well as he has without drawing some serious attention.

Not at all, I’ve seen so much about how good we were under Pearson (I have nothing against him) but our expectations for him were very low. If you look at how we played at Leicester compared to last night, there was zero negativity after we played Leicester when we parked the bus all game and lost vs Leeds where we were poor but Manning is getting pelters. No consistency at all with this flip flop fanbase

So you honestly think our performance away to Leicester was as bad as last night? We were certainly up against a very good Leicester side, but we gave them a game.. last night we just embarrassed ourselves, it was utter garbage.

  11. With our league one manager and our league one players, and with more ‘smart’ league one or below players to arrive in the summer to replace James, Williams and probably Tommy too, we are gradually morphing into a genuine league one side. We had an incredible opportunity to back a proven and motivated manager with funds following the sale of AS and AS and blew it, as a club it serves us f****** right.

Last night, was pathetic and really, really embarrassing on so many fronts, from the boardroom, to the coaches, to the players..

Hey, but we’re still in the cup and we go again..👍

I think this indicates we’re getting smarter.  If we can’t compete financially with a number of our rivals in the summer window, we’re jumping in earlier to beat the rush and the loan back doesn’t disrupt the selling club’s end of season.  They’re then more likely to sell and we get our player, with little or no competition.

Seems like an efficient and cost-effective way of doing business, as long as we don’t need the player in immediately.

Well I get what you’re saying but were we bidding against anybody else except ourselves? Can’t imagine that any team who were genuinely interested in the player and  could outbid us with wages in the summer weren’t as smart as us in January and therefore have missed out? You’d think that the players agent would be abreast of any potential interest now and what would be likely interest in the summer.

Anyway hopefully it’s a good addition.

Decent window in the end but we're already too far back. In points and places, depth and competition..7 pts off WBA having played a game more, 6 off Coventry with them in outstanding form.

Well you never know.. we were in touch at the end of Dec when we smashed Watford.. then inexplicably we imploded over the following two to three weeks in the league. A good run however unlikely it may seem could have us back in the hunt.  For all their outstanding form, Coventry didn’t look that impressive the other night.

**** me. A forum is all about debate and different opinion and i respect that, but what the actual ****!!!!!! Some of the threads and posts today are insane.

To have one now about Jason knight not being good enough! Really? Some people (thankfully not all) need to get their head out their ass, **** off and support Man City instead.

Bit harsh.. my point is that we are clearly not top 6 worthy and for us to reach those heights then we need to improve. Whilst JK’s effort and application are exemplary I personally feel that we need more quality in midfield. If things don’t change, they stay the same..
