Well written piece as always, and interesting thoughts on Johnson going forward. The one thing I don't think can be doubted in SL will back him strongly in the summer to prove wrong those who've questioned him and Johnson this season. Onto today, on paper our easiest game, at home to a team with nothing to play for. Brighton next week will want to win the league and put a show on for their fans and Birmingham will probably need a result against us to guarantee survival. However, there clearly appears to be bad blood between the clubs and I'm sure they'll be a number of people from Barnsley who will take some element of joy in seeing us go down. This will be a game similar to at their place earlier, a bit of needle. 2-2 will it be enough for us, time will tell

If Dopey is offered the Norwich job he surely has to take it. I think when the Leeds role came up last summer he was possibly sucked in by Wally's claims of wealth. I think reality has sunk in with dopey, and he has reached his peak with rovers. To be fair he has done a decent job there

I think a lot of it comes down to what Bellew said, he's broke, he needs the money. The fight pot was 7 million and I suspect Haye got a large percentage of that.

I've said it a couple of times , it will not surprise me if Haye pulls out between now and Saturday. He's under rated Bellew , I don't think he's prepared properly and he's clearly rattled.

The problem with the whole situation is players like; Magnusson, Reid, Brownhill, O'Dowda, Paterson have all been in and out the squad throughout the season. There is no consistency with either the squad or the starting 11. No wonder the players appear to need a lift. Nothing against the team you've selected by the way. Few beers on the Toon, then hopefully what team will actually turn up!

I think that SL is now taking his lead from Ashton. It just doesn't make sense to get rid of him now. We haven't played well over 90 minutes since??? He's been given the January transfer window to bring in yet more players. There is no consistency with our team selections, players come in and out of both starting 11 and bench game by game. This has been ongoing for most of the season. I will be surprised if Johnson is not here at the season end

Not saying I disagree, but regardless of the result or performance (which so far has been poor) he isn't going anywhere. We're stuck with him, I'm afraid

Can only see Rotherham coming here today to set up to frustrate us. They will know if they get to half time 0-0 the crowd will get restless and the pressure will mount on the players and they will hope for a late goal to sneak it. We have to be positive, we have to take the game to them. We need width and to make the pitch as wide as we possibly can. Play two up top , Tammy and Djuric and whoever the wide players are get to the byline and whip the balls in with pace. Would like to see Tomlin play to give us some creativity but not sure if playing two up top Agree, this game is huge. The players need a win (and hopefully a comfortable win) to boost confidence before the run of tough away games begin. Johnson needs a win, as I'm sure a negative result today will see the pressure on him erupt from the stands. Whilst it would be encouraging to see a comfortable win, the most important thing today is the result.
