I like this bit of the statement

"We will now immediately turn our attention to exploring all other opportunities for a new stadium or for a substantive redevelopment of the Memorial Stadium"

Kind of says that despite all the delays, and the club surely knowing for months this was going to happen, there is no plan B in place either.

Well I can't think of anything better to wake up to this morning whilst on hols in Turkey, we all knew it wasn't going to get built but the deluded lot were blinded by false promises but thought they would be used to that

they won't be able to do much at the Mem as they are surrounded by housing so will have height restrictions

oh dear what a mess Mr Wael!!!

:clapping:.... This has just made my evening....

Their off there rockers mind hahahahaaaaaa

Straight from the gas forum from ICEGAS.... Deluded fool!!

"See I think some of our fans underplay our long term potential and are so used to losing our best players over the years that they are willing to just accept he will go.

We are from one of the biggest cities in the UK.There is not premiership club near us for 80 odd miles, and our nearest club to us are nothing of any real note( dispite what they may think they are.)

As a club we have long term premiership potential that could rivial, if not better Norwich's support one day. We are one of the fastest growing clubs outside the premiership right now - training ground being built, stadium hopefully on its way, great new owners...etc...

DC has brought himself job security here for the next 3,4 years and will be able to mould this club in his vision which he would not get at any other club.

******* hell this is comic gold!

  3. So it appears after 6 games without defeat - 4 draws & 2 wins the deluded gas are coming for us based on RB comments.

A couple of wins and they could be in the play offs - Lets hope we get to the Prem league as we don't want the unthinkable happening and the gap to be closed, terrifying thought that we would have to entertain the Gypos at our nice stadium as well as visit the stolen ramshackle relic of a ground on the other side of town

The whole ground was superb, loudest

I've heard in a long while.

AND TBF Villa were what I thought Newcastle were going to be.

Once we got the first goal the whole ground seemed to erupt and the atmosphere was fantastic. I was in the West stand and it was bouncing and so loud when all four stands got going. Fair play to Villa fans they were loud first half and had some quite funny songs but obviously lost their voices once we took over and bossed the game

Tammy brilliance should not hide we are miles off a coherent team. 6 points is a massive boost before we enter a tough run of games . Lots of individual potential , which is encouraging , but the boys and LJ and coaches got lots to do . Season will be up and down for first months for sure as they all get it sorted .

tammy , well he is on another planet it seems .

Bit of perspective, we have played two of the sides promoted last season and expect the next 3 league games to be more of an idea as to how we will do this season but happy to have 6 points already TBH

  6. Looks like our summer recruitments have well and truly clarified the gap between us and them

we can throw circa 5 million to a Prem team and an Italian Serie A club for 2 players and they are looking at free transfers at the best

"we're coming for you" yeah of course you are!!

It's nothing like Oxford or Plymouth.. Swindon in recent times or even Cardiff..

Ashton Gate is a completely different place when we play them. Like it or not, they are our intercity rivals and always will be as long as we both exist. Even if we were top of the premier league and they were back in the conference this thread will still be lurking about.

I was at the gate that balmy evening in 2013 when we played the Sags in the JPT, now that was rivalry at its extreme. The atmosphere before, during and after is what it's all about. Nothing else compares and made sweeter by the result.

unless there is an outside chance of another cup game F.A or League then can't see us crossing swords with them for a long time in a league game

    Ooh me ribs.

What on earth has a championship club got to do with the race for promotion in division 4?

To be fair I've had my fun. I always wanted to see them non league and I have. It can never be taken away, the history book cannot be rewritten.

I've enjoyed every second since the 2000-01 season and even now as they maybe, just maybe, get out of division 4 it still just a bunch of gypsies, tramps and thieves scabbing around division 3. I shall continue to smile at their tinpot situation.

Good luck Rovers, whatever gets you through the night.

OMG there are a few on that forum who are in cloud cuckoo land! At least some of them actually tried to reel them in as it was becoming embarrassing

Sorry, the 'deluded' comments may apply to some Rovers fans, but it may disturb you to know that many of us are aware of where we stand vis a vis our'rivalry'. It annoys me that any of our fans are stupid enough to even comment on Bristol City, I know we are the smaller club (or 'blue few' in your parlance)- but be assured there are many of us who are not stupid or wanting a needless cyber fight. The best that can happen is to finally see some derby games again-hope it happens sooner rather than later.....

TBH and I am not giving it the big un, I just can't see it happening for a good while yet. Maybe F.A cup or League cup but Defo not the league. The recent JPT was a unique Derby atmosphere and always loved Derby games for that reason and am sure both sets of fans miss the annual match day rivalry but seems to be a distant memory at the moment as both clubs moved in different directions.

Could have been 6 or 7!

How good was Tomlins goal?! Class

Probably one of the top 10 goals scored by a city player in my 40 yrs and the poor young right back he made look silly by juggling the ball in front of him and then flicking it past him. Reminds me a bit of Jackie, just hope we can get him Perm but won't hold my breath. A joy to have watched him at his sublime best today!

As funny as this is, I can't help think we probably dodged a bullet by not having to deal with Sainsbury, or similar, with our ground.

If Ashton Vale had gone ahead they would've probably tried to pull the same stunt as supermarkets stopped building big stores around that time - though I'm sure our contract would've been watertight!

I don't think it would have mattered as SL would have funded it and got AV built where the gas were reliant on Sainsburys buying the land. Let's see if there new owners will stump up the cash although if they apply to develop the Mem for housing although will get nowhere near what they were getting from Sainsburys
