I've not listened to it yet but an interview that the Price of Football podcast have done with him has been released today. Will be interesting to hear his opinions!

Under many managers we would have been relegated since Pearson has been in charge and then been stuck in a strong League 1 which could have taken quite a few seasons to get promoted from.

Lansdown probably is happy he's taken most of his shares out of the company. It's reputation does seem to have gone downhill in the last decade with a number of problems including the lawsuit about the Woodford's equity income fund last year.

Active investigative journalism is a thing of the past now which is sad for our city. The articles on there they now just copy from other websites, i.e. what jobs are available at Bristol City Council, what the Met office says the weather will be like next week etc.

It's a similar situation in Wales with TNS winning yet again. In England we know the winners will be from either London or the North West.
The real surprise this year has been Northern Ireland. It's usually one of the four Belfast teams who win it, but this year the ferry port town of Larne has won it.
Larne won the title in Northern Ireland for the first time as they're being funded heavily (for Irish League) standards by the founder of Purplebricks who's from Larne originally.

This thread is the same as one's about crap ref's. You always get a thread on here when a ref has a shocking performance but hardly ever when they have a good performance. We hardly ever had any threads about Hummel as the quality and variety of products were good whereas O'Neills fabric quality and stick on badges look like cheap knock-offs bought on a stall abroad for 5 euros.
Jon suck it up and go back to Hummel cap in hand and get them to make our kit and merchandise again!

In 1958 were plenty of people still watching City one week and Rovers the next?

Looks like there's a strong chance Gareth Bale could be playing for Wrexham next season.

It seems as if referees aren't bothered about throw-ins any more. Quite a few of the throw-ins you see in every match could be deemed a foul throws to the letter of the law but you never see a ref give them.

Would be good to see Weston back in the Conference South next season and the attendances of over 1000 continuing. Weston has a population of 80,000 compared to 50,000 in Yeovil so there's a chance of it.

Any streams today?

Southgate puts more weight on England performances than club form (as many national managers do). As such Maguire and Stones won't be dropped from the England team unless they play badly on international duty.

Imagine what Klopp or Guardiola would be like if they had anything like this fixture list and their squads are probably triple the size of Bracknell's. The Bracknell players will probably have to go to work for quite a few days during this period as well.

It must be difficult playing in a national team when all of your teammates are non-league standard when you're a striker making runs anticipating a through ball/cross and it doesn't come.

How could the club think this is better than Hummel? The club should have worked with Hummel to sort out the distribution issues like every other club in England has done instead of end up with a kit supplier that wouldn't look out of place in the Downs League.

It was a different world though when he was playing. You couldn't imagine the England team going on a major piss-up a week or two before the Euros next year like they did before Euro 96.

Even Blackadder which at the time I thought was laugh out loud funny hasn't aged well which considering it was set in the past is ironic tastes change, or is it just us?
It's the same with The Inbetweeners and that was out only 10-15 years ago and I've seen disclaimers for offensive language/homophobia before it's been shown on TV.

Thanks for posting @Davefevs I'll have a listen tomorrow morning. Not heard of that podcast before and there seems to be quite a few ex City players on it previously with Marlon Pack and Adam Webster

If you want to listen to SOTC outside of the Bristol area or miss it on the radio then you can listen on BBC Sounds

You are in the minority, I'm ok as I get the bus but a hell of a lot of the people that attend have no option but to drive and believe me it's a bloody nightmare now with all the restrictions and those greedy ba88ar8s at the field next door to the cricket club charging up to £50 to park for concerts and £30 on some match days.
I can never understand why people pay that much for parking. I've always been able to find somewhere to park on-street within a 15 min walk from AG even when arriving at 2:30.

It's been a large fall from grace for Yeovil who less than 10 years ago were in the Championship when we were in League 1!

Wasn’t there another proposed stadium to be built in knowle at some point ? . I can’t help but feel that would of been better than Ashton vale as it wouldn’t of been outside the city .
There was a stadium proposed in Hengrove Park in the 90's but don't think the plans got very far though.

Am I right in thinking Pearson always takes his teams to Austria for pre-season training? (excluding Covid)
