  1. I’ve always been an advocate that if they’re close to being involved, try to keep them around. I always use Freddie Hinds as my example. Did he really need to go out on loan, or would he have been better / be one better shadowing Bobby Reid every day in training. He might still have fallen by the wayside, but you never know what that might have done to him. I still can’t believe how quickly Benarous developed into a first teamer…just from training with the first team.
  2. Absolutely. It’s all ifs, buts and maybes. It’s easy to jump for the first offer. It depends whether he thinks there might be others. It’s double that I’d the rumours are in anyway true…but he could quite conceivably make that up too by waiting. At the end of the day, he’ll be the one making the decision, and good luck to him. If it were me, I’d hang on to the summer.
  3. The situation is - OOC this summer but club hold a year option. The easy / obvious answer is that we should at least exercise that option. What we don’t know is what the summer plans are for CBs, inc Kalas. I suspect we will want to tie him down for longer though.
  4. There were at least 3 occasions yesterday, second half, where the Lino went to switch flag hands or indicated with his flag, and then changed his mind. There was one late on where Tanner kicked it out off of BBD / Dack (long haired) in the corner. Im 90 yards away, similar line to the Lino, and he gave them the throw. Similarly, they did the same with Sykes yet we got it. They don’t concentrate is my thought, they try to predict then don’t watch what actually happens.
  5. I agree too. Think we need to give Blackburn’s defenders a lot of credit for playing as well as they did. Nor did they resort to cynical cheating / time-wasting, at least not to the blatant degree other teams do.
  6. But for the sake of 5 months, why not wait and give yourself a better net to cast?
  7. We came close to scoring from one from Naismith second half, and one from James (first half) when it was cleared back out to him. The number of goals from corners is statistically very small, it really is a fine margin hitting it in with pace at just the right height to clear the first man. We saw how many times Martin and Diedhiou cleared balls in a similar vain. I’d be quite happy to see them chip balls in for our biggies to get a run at, but that’s statistically no better either, would just feel less frustrating.
  8. I wondered if when it gets to that stage, Rennie might say “it’s not worth him getting stretched, warm, etc”???
  9. What does this mean, excuse my ignorance?
  10. Forgot to add that Walshie was a special guess of the former players, so maybe business and pleasure?
  11. Adam got schooled by Alex Scott in the away fixture! ???. Looks promising though. “We” ???
  12. He wasn’t…he was perfectly place….Cult of Nige says “Nige was wrong”!
  13. The third time in recent weeks we’ve come from behind (today, Swansea cup, Coventry) having only done it once all season (Blackpool) up til then.
  14. From my position looked like he got a little nudge as he hit it???
  15. Thought Wharton (16) was very classy. For those who watched on RTV / stream, was Tanner hauled over for BBD’s half volley over? Wasn’t sure whether the ref looked like he was mouthing “I’d have given a f-k if he’d scored”???
  16. Being good and being entertained don’t necessarily go hand in hand. Can you not see that sometimes teams cancel each other other…and enjoy a different kind of entertainment of watching a bit of a cagey game, seeing where a team might gain a small advantage that breaks the fact that two teams playing 433(ish), will see lots of passing lanes being blocked, hard for either side to get it forward.
  17. There were a couple of one-touch link-ups with Wells today that looked promising (one offside).
  18. Reckon he will get a start next Saturday.
  19. What was good today was that he allowed Tanner to play quite wide today at RB to nullify BBD. He didn’t need Tanner tucked in because Vale didn’t really offer any threat. Not downplaying his performance, but him and Big Rob had a very comfortable afternoon. Surprised Gallagher didn’t come on, guess the red card changed that? He had a good game though, not disputing that at all.
  20. Initially Nige said 2 weeks, then refined it to 2-3 weeks.
  21. That’s a big assumption that money is the primary / only driver. Lots more parts of the decision. If Bournemouth offer him £5k more than Palace, I bet you he goes to Palace.
