  1. That isn’t how we set up today…and I think it benefitted us (and will do against the better teams who can pass it to makes us chase the ball). James the more disciplined, central in the main, Scott and Williams more no8’s….but both were very fluid, with responsibility to pick up Choudhury w/o the ball…although starting positions Scott left of James, Williams right.
  2. Was right in front of us….did everything right, until he swapped his head for a toblerone!
  3. If you’ve had a series of bad injuries and think you’ve done it again…I think the reaction is totally fine…he must be gutted. Williams has done the same when he has tweaked his hamstring again. (how good was Williams today - also alongside James and Scott. We have to try to play a three against the better sides (on paper), even if it means Andi at RWB.) He was very poor today.
  4. Agree re picking and choosing. But a Semenyo on form is so much more than an impact sub. His biggest issue when on firm is ousting the partnership of Conway and Wells who are very good together.
  5. I agree, just saying that I think that played into the ref’s thinking.
  6. Blimey, didn’t quite get the emotion up where we sit, but that is very touching. Nice one City. All the best Bakes.
  7. He was “at it” today.
  8. Won his headers today. Also didn’t get sucked into being too tight, so that his opponent couldn’t “feel him”…and then he subsequently turned into a Zak tackle / challenge. One great left foot pass out of defence through the lines that led to Conway bursting through. Really surprised that Davis played centre or centre right, so only found himself on King Or Pring, who handled him really well. Not yet in his prime as a CB. Like Max, think both will be extended for another year at some point.
  9. Good height for him. Still a good save though.
  10. God, I didn’t really see the high foot one…that’s a pen imho As for the other one, he’s initiated contact by running into the line of the defender, and I think that works against him as the play moves on. Whether it should or not, I don’t know.
  11. No way they’d promote you Dafe ??? I think that is my worry with him and Vyner. Pring could hold him up though. A lot of this is stopping the passing lane into his feet. The extra midfielders should help if they do that.
  12. Yep, think we were one of the first years after they moved away from AG / Eastville. We played at Bristol Manor Farm v Portway School (was virtually a home game for them). We won 2-0 comfortably.
  13. I’m perfectly used to people having a different opinion to me and calling that difference out. Yes, it was that, I’m happy to say I reacted to that. Sometimes we post to that. I’m happy to admit that. Wish others could too!
  14. Didn’t he break a leg / ankle and use that “gym-time” to realky build up the explosiveness in his legs?
  15. Yeah I know that, was being over simplistic.
  16. It’s worth remembering that “transfer profit” is part of the P&L before tax figure: and therefore the club will budget for making some money here. Or at least they will’ve done pre-Covid. As part of the FFP submissions some of those years T, (and maybe T+1 and T+2) will include estimates of overall P&L, which in City’s case, maybe included a slug of Transfer Profit. I think there us a huge difference between City estimating for transfer profit and then covid wrecking it (even though I agree the strategy for City was too high a risk) and someone like Birmingham who projected a sale of Che Adams and then didn’t sell him. I think it’s time to just wait for the accounts to come out. Then, we can work out for ourselves how lenient the EFL have been.
  17. I offered up a hypothesis / an opinion on a forum. I didn’t say it was, just “could it”. Yes there is a housing crisis, why hasn’t it been resolved if it’s so easy to get planning? Yeah, probably. Bad choice of term…accepted.
  18. Maybe he is a flawed genius…I’m just offering up an opinion, no need to be rude / insulting about it is there? Remember, this is a forum!!!!
  19. He did…but he said it once before and Matty James made a miraculous recovery.
  20. I subscribe to that too.
  21. I agree with all of that, but… …you may recall right back at the start there was certainly talk at EFL level about Covid Allowances not just being lost income for lost Gate income and the like, but also if clubs could prove they’d lost out on transfer revenue then that might also be allowed. I remember writing about Diedhiou at the time and how covid might’ve stopped us selling him, and therefore by the time we got past covid and fabs returning, clubs no longer had the cash to buy him, meaning we lost out. Personally, like you, I find it flaky, but there at least is an argument for “lost transfer profit”. I don’t think it should be the same levels of Stoke’s £40m, but there is some reality to it.
  22. This guy (circled) burned down Trumpton, and got jailed for it!
  23. Yep, I was a short arse at school. Was still good in the air though, which helped when I finally grew!!!
