  1. As I said in my post, it wasn’t a line-up, formation, just a list of players…no assumptions re positions, system etc.
  2. Assuming Atkinson is fit, then I don’t think you’ll be a million miles away. The only question mark is who plays RCB3 and CB3, after Zak did well as the central man previously.
  3. Nothing wrong with James’s level of performance, a bit of doubt over his availability no doubt. With King and Simpson there is a factor of “very low-cost” to build in that blurs things.
  4. Mmmm, more tripe: 20/21 - Pearson wasn’t here at Xmas ?????? 21/22 - 18th at Xmas, 17th end of season ? second sentence depends on next 3 games, you may be right.
  5. The rest of the interview (29 mins in total) talks about many other things, inc: how reliant we are on a small number of key players, he calls them critical, and they’ve not been available since the last break how we’ve not got any money, ie would need to sell first, couldn’t afford the CB he wanted Tins role and how recruitment has been scattergun for too long etc
  6. Imho, if he has to continually pick from what he currently has, I’d say there are some mitigating circumstances. If he gets Naismith and Kalas back, and has the decent core to pick from most weeks, and we don’t pull away, then I’d say he deserves to go. When we put out a decent line-up, we can compete most games, that has been shown / proved. That will be enough. But when we have injuries / illness to too many of the good / better players we are a shadow of the side that can compete. I hope we use the WC break wells because it’s offered us a chance to get players ready to go again. I know it sounds cliched.
  7. I said that is what it reads like. I wasn’t questioning you support, merely stating how it comes across.
  8. £38m down to £28m (Holdings) or £33m down to £23m (BCFC) (P&L before tax). AGL was a loss of £3.6m.
  9. Put it this way, Tins was already part of the FIRST TEAM recruitment team and process, but his main angle was to provide an academy lens, I.e. does a new signing hamper the pathway of an academy player. It’s not a simple black or white answer, it will be case by case, and it might still not stop the signing being made. He is one vote amongst several in effect. That’s football. He will also use his vast knowledge of football and contacts of that helps us narrow down on a player, e.g. if he’s seen a player against our u23/21s in the last, he will feed into the evaluation. That was what was explained to us when we met RG. So I do think this is a significant change in role, he’s no longer just holding the academy vote, he now runs the process and will have accountability / responsibility for that. Some of that will be shared with RG (his replacement) some of it with Nige…but he is no longer just the academy voice.
  10. Assuming we have the vast majority of our core players available for most of the rest of the season, then I see no reason for us to be relegated. Under that proviso, if we did get relegated then I would lay blame at Nige’s feet and he’d have to go. But we are suffering at the mo’ from a couple of injuries to key players, just come through a bout of illness and are on a poor run. Before illness started to hit our small squad we’d won 2 from 4, we are now 2 draws from 4. (League) With a core of (this is not a line-up / 11 just a list of key players): O’Leary (well done Max) Vyner (well done Zak), Kalas, Naismith, Atkinson Scott, James, Williams Weimann, Wells, Conway Available most weeks, we ought to be fine. Supplement that with a back-to-form Semenyo making a difference would be a help too. You’ll notice I’ve not got any WBs, because I don’t think any of them are crucial to how we perform, they don’t influence others, so they aren’t key to me. Pring might become core, but he isn’t yet. As it stands we’ve missed Kalas virtually all season, Naismith for 8 league games, James 9. I’ve not included the odd game or two missed by others because that is expected through the run of the season. Until we get something like the players listed above back in the team, Nige / the team are gonna struggle. Imho it’s futile saying we have a good squad…we don’t!
  11. . One of the most agenda fed opinion posts I’ve read in a long time. Very much baseless / subjective, little to no examples used to back up / clarify your opinions and everything must be the fault of the manager. ??????
  12. We might use (d), I,e. Specify in the accounts, but it will be either method or both. Yep, £9.5m(ish) loss in 22/23’s accounts +/- “add backs”. If we’ve put £10m of add-backs in to either this or previous years, then we could lose £19.5m(ish) this season. Until we know the size of “add-backs” it’s like nailing jelly to a wall. ?
  13. That last sentence reads like you can’t wait to see us in the bottom three so that you can revel in us struggling! And that you think ONLY Nige can be at fault. ???
  14. Did you catch today’s announcement re Tinnion?
  15. Who knows, Nige taking the chance to see Kadji might be over after last night and he might need to use Massengo again. Probably unlikely, but I don’t think Nige would deliberately cut off his nose if he thought Han might do a job for a particular game or group of games. Just watched the u21s highlights and it doesn’t appear that Han is strolling around.
  16. @Dynamite Redand @Robboredcover off my thoughts @phantom. Taking the following example - is taking year on year movement up the table classed as progress if you burden the club financially for years to come, have the best squad (and depth) available and don’t meet the objective set? Sometimes progress can be measured in different ways.
  17. Ta, got you ?? Quite simple, he enables our midfielders to place facing forward, or at least on the half turn, by being able to pass through the opposition press / block. Without him we have to play square and around the outside….and as our WBs can’t cross, it all becomes a problem. That’s the basic answer anyway.
  18. That’s how I see it. Need a football person in recruitment across Academy and First Team, and as above don’t believe “money-man” is his forté. I still think we need a skilled CEO, I don’t think we dilute the importance of that because of Tins promotion.
  19. I’d add the “partnership of Wells and Conway” rather than them individually per se. They are so in sync. So that’s 5 ???
  20. Agree, don’t be positive, just ensure there is balance (where appropriate). It’s right to be critical of performance (opening 45 at least) and result, but there’s probably some questions to ask yourself “why”…rather than just come out with the “what”. I have no issue with saying it’s shit when it is shit, and there is no reason why it should’ve been shit. ?
  21. Lovely, well articulated post ??????
  22. I honestly didn’t see King’s performance as any worse than anyone else. Boot on other foot, why isn’t Kadji doing the legwork for King, like Massengo would? Far too Easy to blame King. Whilst not trying to define each player’s performance by “stats”, guess which one is which in the first half? No, by the seems of it, others noticed too!!! Physically big enough, but importantly, not “strong for his size”. Still growing into his frame imho, and looks a bit cumbersome as a result. We will see how he bounces back.
  23. How many times…you can’t just bin a player off. They have a contract. The player has a value in the books that if we don’t achieve gets classed as a loss (towards FFP). if we did what you suggest in both Football Manager and real-life it costs us. Who is gonna pick up Kalas’s £25k p.w. and the £1m value in the books?
  24. Sorry, Mr Semenyo is looking after Antoine’s affairs.
  25. He’s beginning to feel like O’Dowda for me in many ways.
