  1. What was the Chris Martin chant?
  2. I think that will be the general thrust, but including “sensible fees” for those young enough to be here longer term and with upside to gain in value. See my post about Barnsley as an example. (whilst accepting no transfer is a guaranteed success). We ain’t gonna spend £3m on a 30 year old striker anymore. I hope we won’t let players with value see out their contracts anymore. We need to get full value when we can, or else bite them bullet even if it’s just wages saved, e.g. Adam Nagy. Famara Diedhiou as an example is FFP suicide.
  3. That’s logical now I see it written down ?
  4. Hopefully the full 90 will get added to Robinstv later today.
  5. Agree with that. Think we will also see whether we can get mid-range age players on a free this summer, or raid the likes of Barnsley for their best players young(ish) on the cheap when they go down…which they’ll do v.well to avoid. Brad Collins - GK - sweeper keeper would suit us (24) Mads Andersen - CB - 6’4” dominant in the air at both ends (24) Callum Brittain - RWB - really tidy wingback (23) Josh Benson - CM - (22) Jordan Williams - LWB / RWB - good on either side (22) Callum Styles - LCM / LW / LWB - talented (21)
  6. Listened last night. Was a good listen. Good summary of FFP by @NcnsBcfctoo.
  7. My view is that “generally” whilst still seeing injuries we are seeing less long term ones, we are seeing players being coaxed back carefully. Of last season’s long term injuries, O’Dowda - has been a regular bar his contact injury on the opening day, Martin - has been available every game, playing 90 in most (almost all), Williams - arrghhh, frustrating, let’s see how he’s managed from this point, and Weimann - amazing recovery from ACL. Im not saying Rennie is great or Rolls was Harold Shipman, but I do sense a general improvement, but it’s not gonna be overnight. There are of course others too that have had injuries: Tanner - recurring hamstring, as he adjusts to the demands of this level training and matches King - see above, but also perhaps lack of game time in the past 2 seasons not helping Baker - concussion, not a lot you can do about that James - foot injury made worse by a kick etc Never gonna have no injuries, the key is not having 3 CMs out at the same time…so Williams better keep himself fit whilst James readies himself and King is injured. Perhaps one to reflect again later in the season.
  8. I’d forgotten he’d signed a 4 year deal, he initially signed a “long-term deal”, which the club wouldn’t confirm the length.
  9. I think Luton are the new Preston in many respects. Don’t get me wrong they are a good side, but Jones has them playing a very cynical, borderline cheating style beyond the actual football. Little effers like Lockyer, always feigning a head injury, being caught etc. We will need to be at our best from a streetwise point of view tomorrow.
  10. He hasn’t ever said that, in fact he’s said the opposite….(paraphrased) whilst they are employed by the football club, if he wants to / needs to use a player, he will - that is what he’s said, because we run a trim squad. It’s why Kasey Palmer was in the squad for Fulham, like Bakinson. In a period when we were without two, if not all of King, James and Williams, he used Bakinson then. It really doesn’t make a difference whether Tyreeq wanted to leave or not, nor for how long he’s wanted to leave. The fact is until another club come in with an acceptable offer to take him off our hands (loan or perm) within a transfer window, then Nige will pick him if he wants to / needs to, and feels it’s not detrimental to the overall objective. Eventually Ipswich made that offer, he left. We will have to take Nige’s word that it happened quickly. You really are putting too much emphasis on “it was Tyreeq who wanted to leave”. We all get that. We all know contractually he has to agree…that is not the point anyone is arguing over the last few pages. Why do so many of your posts have a little undercurrent of a dig at Nige? What is your beef with him, and what is your reason for that?
  11. Yes, I think it was me that jumped on a Gregor tweet, and then when I read the whole comments for context it was not “breaking the rules”, but that Nige has a selection policy and just because Dan is captain should not negate him being dropped / replaced by Max. @RedM so probably my fault.
  12. Agree….or at least qualify the basis of the record, e.g. since the advent of the PL, so people know. Does it. I’ve always taken it to be a aged player who’s played for lots of teams generally at a certain level(s). E.g. 32 year old with 15 clubs mainly in one or two divisions.
  13. Putting stuff on Robinstv / YouTube has helped massively. I knew names before but never seen them play as I don’t get time to go to games. Now we get to see them play too. I like the look of Knight-Lebel (Centre back), he was just 16 when he made his u23s debut. Might be 17 now. Being the geek that I am, I now have a database for all the youngsters too, tracking their loans, contract extensions etc. Callum Wood(CB) just got Bath City player of the month too. Just turned 19.
  14. In fairness to Cotts, him and Keith Burt made a conscious plan to go with Bryan, Reid and Burns in 14/15. Only Bryan starred, but the plan was there.
  15. Spoilsport, I was having my tea…you’re too quick. Marco, Merrick, Terry Lee, Gary Tibbs and yours truly! Never knew Sir Geoff was a King of the wild frontier!
  16. @SBBthat is hilarious ??
  17. I’m surprised on the MDT that some posters who I thought were die-hard fans and went to every game (home at least), don’t actually go.

I get encouraged by Brian Tinnion: Then a bit of negativity from Ian Gay, then a reply: I sense (not ITK) that we will here of some more contract extensions over the coming weeks.
  19. Miller was a beast physically, but I don’t reckon he had Antoine’s skills.
  20. We looked very leggy today….wonder whether chasing the ball around for 90 mins v Man City in midweek in the cup, took it out of us. Murray is normally a rock yet she made 3 or 4 mistakes first half. Charlton by far the better side, physical, strong runners, and it felt a bit women v girls…not forgetting how young our side is. They were very cynical with their time wasting, like an Alex Neil PNE team, but no complaints re result.

No, no coincidence in my book either.
  22. He got injured in that Brum semi-final unfortunately. Great interview, similar to Towler’s!! Yep, that the sum of it….good post.
