  1. We used to call it a Sally Gunnell.
  2. Thought it was Liz McColgan after a particularly bad 10km race.
  3. @headhunterjust listened back to FBC, and despite the little sound issues, which were bearable I thought it was a good listen. Even though just you and Ian, it gave you more chance to contribute and I think it backs up my view that less (participants) is more. Means Ian doesn’t have to be rude to anyone either. ?
  4. No guarantees this will work, but I primarily use IPad Pro to watch Robinstv using the iOS app. It is far more reliable than using chrome or safari on MacBook Pro for me. I’ve found that when it does freeze that I am best closing the app fully, by a little swipe to bring up a tiled view of all open apps, then swipe the Robinstv app up to close. The. Re-open and it works. On Mac I would force quit browser and start again. Refreshing doesn’t seem to work. I have a funny feeling they do some authentication check about every 15 mins because if it does crash / freeze it tends to be 15 mins or 30 mins in.
  5. Made some good saves I’m told, one a double save.
  6. This ones called “progress under Nige”
  7. Hoping for a sliding tackle and take Ashton out as he runs down the touch line. ??? They are a bit slow in Suffolk. Sub was 5 mins before the goal. Has there ever been such a popular u23s victory?
  8. @lukebcfc1989 2-0 rumour at the ground is that Pearson’s goal not Bell’s….who made a dummy run across the keeper and Pearson’s cross went straight in.
  9. Pretty sure Mac Boyd is a keeper.
  10. Where? No emoji from @cidered abroad, he’s not one for modern day antics, so I suspect he meant what he posted, which he’s entitled to.
  11. Had a really good pre-season, but I don’t think Nige was impressed with his sub appearance at Middlesbrough nor his work rate / defensive side v Forest Green, despite the two goals. He’s not better than the 20/22 Nige has been picking his 18 from. Has been part of travelling party though for some games.
  12. More positivity coming out of the City camp. Looks like everyone singing from the same hymn sheet.
  13. ??? Too quick SoF: https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1238017/Premier-League-manager-caught-visiting-prostitutes-brothel.html
  14. Not sure how their accounts in 20/21 will look any better???
  15. Started by our glimpse of this man!
  16. Very cynical CA! Bearing in mind Tim Ream had done an interview with him earlier in the week, and they’d added him to their squad….I think this shows the human side of football….and I’m all for it.
  17. Can interfere in many other ways Alan. ?
  18. Think much also depends on those who started and therefore have possession of the shirt too. Did they do enough to retain their shirt. You could argue Bakinson didn’t have a great game nor Pring. But Nige has said he won’t necessarily drop someone for one poor game either. So I don’t think Palmer not starting on Wednesday is something to read lots into. As a forum we are great at coming up with stuff / reading into stuff, to justify selection / non-selection in our minds. As you well know we don’t get to see the training ground, the sports science, etc Its really interesting to observe / listen to Nige. He made some comment about O’Dowda last week along the lines of “he’s someone that the fans perceive should be in / around the starting eleven”. Very careful wording. Very non-committal.
  19. Great post. Palmer has always worked hard. Inefficiently? Absolutely. Not always fit enough / stamina to last a game? Yep. But I’d never accuse him of being work-shy. He might stroll occasionally, I saw Andreas Weimann do it twice on Saturday!!! To me he looks like “another” player who’s coasted through age-group football, and the reality of senior football is different. There is no disgrace in being a Championship squad player. It’s not his fault he cost £3.5m and if we could negotiate our own wages and get £20k+ p.w. so be it. I’d rather not jump on our own player’s backs. On occasion you can question effort of several players, certainly last season, and you’d argue why aren’t they motivated. There will be a variety of wages. But surely we’ve all gone through the motions a bit in our jobs too. Also, worth remembering that we only see a small fraction of their weekly work. And finally re Church on a Sunday…..he also watched the Vixens at Failand, along with Tyreeq. Not the first time he has either. Little things!
